After the latest, successful flight, I have a feeling this is going to be the next one to launch to test raptor relight, to give the other teams more time to improve the heat shield on the flaps
Thank you NSF for a great SpaceX Boca Chica Update. Also thank you Mary, Jack, Sean, D Wise, SBL, & everyone At NSF for all your hard work, for without you none of this would be posable; Thank you again!!!!
Wrong! It is the first ship with 9 engines. 6 vacuum Raptors and 3 sea level engines. It is made out of Inconel, so it doesn't need a heatshield. It doens't need flaps because it steers via gyroscope inside the ship.
I wonder if they didn't bother with those last couple of heat tiles because they'd only burn through to the open engine bay? Still seems like a weird choice not to fix them since SpaceX has been saying they're focused on reentry.
@@frogfichtrlustr369 Yeah, but it's stacked and the missing tiles are pretty high. I can't see them destacking with the FTS armed. Would have been easier to fix them when the ship was on the ground.
@ 02:51 … Those ‘descriptive labels’ keep pointing in JUST the right direction for everyone to see and photograph. Been happening since SpaceX started. Helps SO much with the public interest.
How do so many engineers/architects/welders, pavers, construction workers, etc., do so many things at once and on a timeline, not flawlessly, but magnificently.
Just a different design methodology. You can spend ten years on a spacecraft and do 110% of the engineering before you ever launch it, and probably have a perfect first launch, but you'll have spent billions to get there before you ever fly anything. This method instead throws together a crapload of cheap testbeds using blue collar welders and machinists and iterates on them with each failure. Eventually you'll have spent as much money as the old school method. It's two ways to reach the same goal.
Metal whine sound amplified is not so great for headphones thus have to watch that part muted. Either way cheers for the video update and catching the static fire. Cool to see the rapid progress.
I have a feeling that ship26 is the ship to test ground equipment and new modification procedure. They knew they can static fire this thing so they use it to test ground equipment from Messy. Maybe in the future if they have to develop some techniques to do to the ships they can test it on 26 to see if it will work before doing it to other ships.
If I was on that spaceship it would be breathe taking and even better than a sci-fi series such as Doctor Who we're gonna make history everybody everything from science fiction is happening right now maybe we will even unlock immortality in the future who knows this is mind blowing!
Why don’t they put a couple of conical or inverse parabola cones on top edge of booster and alignment pins in bottom edge of ship to speed up alignment?
S29 still doesn't have all its tiles. When will that be sorted if the full stack won't be dismantled before launch? I really hope the 2nd tower will have a proper flame trench instead of the tower 1 ''solution'
Small suggestion for the editing team: put a video speed number in corner of video whenever footage is sped up (2x etc)
The metalic sound😂
😂
Was that coming from the chopsticks?!
Whole new sound tossed into mix. Very cool.
Needs some WD40
it's one step from this to the femur breaker sound
Those fish at 5:10 where excited for what was coming!
I would say they're Starfish but that name is taken.
They seem to be more concerned with what was coming at them )
Mmmmm fried starfish
This looks at times like official SpaceX footage. Well done, NSF.
called good cameras lol

When was the last time?
@@Vatsyayana87 when it went to MB2 and people were like"yay its getting scrapped!" but s26 had other plans😎

I love that s26 is still out there doing stuff, even in its “old” and “outdated” age. Another reason why S26=good ship

I really hope, that the new OLM gets a flame trench! So much better in every way.
So cool seeing the fish jump. 5:12 Amazing views. Thank you NSF.

Good to see all that energy diverted away. Has to be kinder on all the critical launch subsystems.
Let's hope to have a safe rocket in the near future, so we can colonize other planets. I made a video about colonizing Titan for those interested😊
Maybe starship
Letsgo ship 26
Ship 29*

No planet deserves humans colonising it and fucking it up.

O:18 seconds. I hope they fix those missing heat tiles
Amazing job.

The sounds of squealing metal as they do the lift make me wonder who forgot to grease a fitting. 😁
Those sounds in the beginning reminds me of Silent Hills P.T.
@6:31 Is this the river that divides Mexico from the USA? Is that it? ! (nice catch of the first test stand use)
I'm sure they will inspect pad to see how it survived. It was only a couple of second blast.

At 0:16-17 did I actually see the starship segment run into the booster??? I don't think this is admissible for a launch prep!
it's just heat warp in the air and the camera angle. they did not touch.

First time I've heard the " MegaZilla Chopsticks " in Action...

Was it me or did I see the booster seriously wobble around the 0:15 second mark?
I think that's just an illusion caused by them digitally stabilizing the footage around Starship 29. It surprised me too!
Ship 26 forever!
why don't they do variable low level hover/catch tests a few inches off the stands?
Oh. Cool!
Is the noise really necessary?
