Hello, I really like your videos and I was going to ask you if you could please do an "Ever heard of Ernest and Celestine?" or an "Ever heard of a monster in pairs?" thank you for your time and patience and I hope you enjoy watching either of those movies!
I feel like so many movies end happy on purpose. I maybe alone in this feeling, but it would have been unique and spooky, if you will, if it ended with just 9 alone scared and with more questions then he started with
Seeing the little protagonists defending themselves using only small objects against big machines is something very hooking. I couldn't quit my eyes from the fight scenes. A great, but creepy movie!
Ah yes, the movie that gave me nightmares of losing my body and not being able to reach out to anyone when I was like 11 and watched it with my class. It gave them nightmares too. It's very unique though, it's pretty good.
I was OBSESSED with this movie when it came out. I saw the trailer and my 12 year old self like, “I gotta see this!” and saw it on it’s release date of 9/9/09. I drew stitchpunks, made ocs, played on the website almost daily, made dolls of 3 and 4, harassed all my friends to see it, had a 9 themed birthday for my 13th. Looking back it’s definitely not perfect but I will always have a soft spot for 9 in my heart.
When she said that the movie didn't scare her, I found someone who is like me. I used to watch coraline in bed and fall asleep at night. Like... when I was 4. Not even joking I would also watch corspe bride. And I also really like the movies to this day! I watch nightmare before Christmas during both the Halloween and Christmas season about a hundred times.
I remembered this movie when I was around 6-7 years old, and surprisingly I wasn't scared of it. I was more intrigued by the movie. Ugh the nostalgia 💖

I absolutely LOVE the scene you drew with nine’s voice all cracked. Its so perfect considering hes the ‘humanity’ of the group and yet sounds the least human.
Bruh the monster designs in this movie were my favorite! The cat beast and the Seamstress had some of the best villain designs I’ve seen in a while and were beyond creepy when they appeared! Sadly this movie was overshadowed by Coraline tho
My Dad showed this film to my sister and I when we were both 3 thinking that it was one of those Barbie movies. At the first time viewing it gave both my sister and I nightmares, but now it’s honestly one of my favourite movies of all time. Thank you so much for reviewing this movie!
My favorite characters out of the stitchpunks would definitely be 3 and 4. I found the moment where they kept poking and prodding at 9 and used their cataloguing camera flash right in his eyes hilarious. The fact that they never spoke only made them even more adorable.
I remember this movie made me so scared during those death scenes of the ragdolls when I was younger so I refused to rewatch it but its actually pretty good
7:40 I remember that scene! It was anxiety-inducing to me too. When I first saw this it left me unsettled because I hadn’t seen a “dark kid movie” like this before. I know what to expect when I watch media for older audiences, but this? I did not expect a movie aimed at kids to be like this (creepy, existential, dark, actual deaths that don’t get reversed). When I saw the ending, my mom said water creates life, so I thought the rain was meant to symbolize that humans or new life forms would evolve, and the dolls/stitchpunks are left to exist forever now and witness evolution-maybe even guide the new life that evolves.
As a smol child, my parents had this on dvd, in one of those little sleeves, and I thought it was a horror movie with that black disk and ominous green 9,
I remember seeing this as a kid, liking it, and then moving on. So yeah, this movie kinda does lose interest from younger audiences, because of the missing goal in the latter half and, as you said, a lot of the slow pacing and vintage visuals can kind of get lost on kids. I probably should rewatch it sometime.
Rosmo throughout the video explaining the movie: leting you feel the eerie scenes Rosmo, when she does her transitions: super cheery ~✨ I don't know if it was on purpose but I really liked those unexpected "comedical" relieves :3
"One must be sacrificed for the good of another" has an entirely different meaning the second time it was said. It's my dad's favorite line in the whole movie.
I remember watching this with my grandma when I was 8. I started crying and my grandma cried with me. We're both very emotional people, and for some reason, this movie was just a rollercoaster for us.
I’ve always found strange that u absolutely despise horror and suspense films now as an adult, I don’t even torture myself watching them I simply choose NOT TO, but I absolutely loved this film and Coraline as a kid, I know the entire Coraline script to heart and it didn’t scare me at all, but anyway this film holds a special place in my heart and GASP I HAVENT seen the shirt film!! A crime!! Throughout the years I’ve seen so many people talk about 9 talking in the film and gosh I agree but now i just wish like aa why didn’t they go in that direction!!
It’s one of those movies you watch when you where Younger and then you have memories of it and you can’t tell if it’s a dream or stuff that actually happened
Have you ever huard of "The suicide shop" "Mune. The guardian of the moon" or "My life as a courgette" they are in my top 10 animated movie. My all time favorite is "In a corner of this world" who make me cry every time.
The movie that the trailer alone gave me nightmares when I was little. And I watched bits and pieces of it but I always got too scared. This movie is beautiful though,I appreciate the aesthetic and I've heard the soundtrack. But to this day,it makes me feel quite uncomfy.
THIS WAS MY CHILDHOOD FAVOURITE MOVIE BUT MY MAMA HAD CHANGED THE CD CASE BECUASE SHE DID AND I NEVER KNEW THE NAME THIS VIDEO HELPED ME SO MUCH THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS-
I remember seeing this movie in-theatres when I was 9 (hehe.... get it? Cuz it's called-) and being absolutely traumatized from it. We were sitting in the front row for some reason, and the machines gave me nightmares for a week. Watching it now, though, it's kinda meh but I LOOOOVE the concept and LOOOOOOOOOVE the visuals. Totally agree that 9 having no voice, or a robotic-staticky voice would've been way cooler
The part that Ros Mo said scared them scared me too when I watched it as a kid. It just was unsettling and I was scared about losing my favorite character
This movie broke me. For me it wasn't scary. It was so sad and despair inducing. It was when I watched this that I truly felt sadness about the future (I was 9 when I watched it, give me a break).
I remember when I was a kid at Video EZ, I saw the DVD cover of this film & I was totally invested before I even watched it. I think my parents kept ignoring me when I demanded to watch it but eventually my Dad left me off the hook & I went home to watch it late at night on my old junky computer? I was so confused at the start but the mystery held my interest & when the horror began… probably one of the first films I saw to have strong dark elements & I loved it. Ive seen clips here and there but now that I am older, this film is basically top-notch in demonstrating anthropology.
I loved this movie SO MUCH!! however if you look closely during the raining scene it looks as though the stitchpunks had spread thier small lives to give the earth new life.
Omg I had a dream about one of the scenes from this movie but I couldn't remember much since I only remembered glimpses of some scenes as a child I tried looking it up with a brief description... nothing I literally thought I imagined it all thank you so much!
Ahhh yesss I remembered watching this as a kid I was a bit creeped out and didn't know what the story was about now I rewatched and alot of nostalgia hit me hard💖
i watched 9 when i was like seven years old. I loved this move sm. The characters were amazing, I loved the story, and I've always been a fan of anything Tim Burton. Also, the soundtrack is forever engraved in my head. oh and the cat beast is pretty idk dont question
I remember I had a DVD 2-in-1 of 9 and Coralline, neither scared me (badly) I’d I loved them! I was like 5-6ish when I watched them. Same with monster house which didn’t scare a lot either.
This movie is very interesting, when I as a kid it gives me nightmare but I can't stop thinking about the movie, the atmosphere the characters and the plot is intriguing. It's one of those movie that I can say it's scary not because it's horror but because it's disturbing. Over all amazing movie will watch again 😊👌
It's always interesting for me to see how people talk about "9". Because I saw an almost completely different version. If you didn't know Russian Dub version adds many new dialogues and changes the story in its own way. I don't remember too much, but dor example "1" was a councler, "8" was his bodyguard, "7" was a scientist's wife, "3" and "4" were his children I believe, and so on.
i've heard the russian dub has changes like that. its an interesting take for sure, and it makes the bond between 9 and 7 seem less weird than it was in the original, for the reasons described in the video.
When i was younger i didnt rlly like this, no i wasnt scared of it but i really just didnt understand most of what was going on. I recently rewatched it and i loved it a lot :>
omg, i remember when i was young i used to be so scared of this movie and i had so many nightmares about it, i mean who wouldn't? it was kinda disturbing but now that i look at it, It wasn't even that scary and i feel kinda stupid for being scared. Thanks for another great review tho, gonna show this to my mom and bring back lots of nostalgia by watching it again. xoxo
I love this movie for a lot of different reasons, but my main three are that it was the first animated movie I saw that made me question what a soul really is, when I saw the movie I had an entire theater room to myself so the experience was all mine, and lastly the trailer lead me to becoming a huge fan of the band Coheed and Cambria since the song "Welcome Home" was in the trailer.
The only thing that scared me was the soul sucking part, and then made me go"woah souls are so cool" and made it my whole deal for years. I was around 10 when I watched it for the first time and I watched it like 4 or 5 times
17:04 Okay but even as a kid, I and my cousins had NO idea what he was doing so we just decided "Hey, he's taking a nice bath" But now that you said you had an idea and then spurred in Filipino, I can only uhhh think of more interesting things
Oh my goodness, thank you!! This is one of my favorite movies ever! I fell in love with the style and the mystery. I wish it was longer and made its story and characters more fleshed out. I'm so glad you're reminding people of this gem!
For whatever reason, this movie barely scared me as a kid (except the baby-face naga thing). Ironic considering stuff like 'The Gremlins" did scare me-
Omg i love ur channel, you’re watching all my childhood movies and it brings so much nostalgia and happiness. Alot of my childhood movies were definitely not for children lol but they are still my favourite movies.
This movie was made when my older brother was born and then in 2011 I was born then in 2013 we watched it! *a l l I r e m e m b e r e d w a s t h e s c a r y p a r t s*
When you showed the voice of 8 just saying 'Quiet', I was like "I know that Voice... thats Soldier76 from Overwatch!" - looked it up and it really was Fred Tatasciore ^^
This brought back memories, I can remember loving 9 as a kid and yet somehow I was scared of it in my later years, regardless I’m going to go find it from wherever the hell it ended up in my attic.
I watched this as a kid. I was 10 when it came out, my sisters were 6 and 3. This was the 3 year Olds favorite movie til she was 10. I knew exactly which scene you were going to say was the most eerie, the over the rainbow scene, before too described it. The movie is scorched into my brain, every scene, and I will always recommend it as a child friendly scary movie.
[spoiler a bit] This movie heckin made my eyes so puff I can't even see anything for a whole night. I didn't want anyone to die but the way the enemy take their soul is just heartbreaking to see, specially 2 and 5 also 6, I love them all so much except for 1-8 🙄. But yea this movie overall is super great!! highly recommended
9 used to be my favorite movie when i was younger.... it kinda used to scare me a little bit but it still brings back memories.... i wish i still had it...... also i didnt know this was pg-13 i didnt think it was that bad honestly cuz i watched it when i was 6 😅 but then again my parents let me watch Edward scissor hands when i was 6 so 🤷♂️
this is the first time I ever hear of this movie, it looks entrusting I might watch it :} and btw I recommend watching "song of the sea" it's one of my childhood movies I enjoyed watch it and I wanna share that enjoyment with people :D !
I need to watch this movie again. The last time I'd watch this movie was in 2010. I've always thought this movie has a somewhat similar plot to the Matrix due to the machine controlling the world. You should definitely watch the Animatrix. It's available on HBOMax.
If you haven’t seen it already, I heavily recommend Jack and the Cuckoo Clock heart! It’s a bit of a weird movie, but honestly I’ve always really loved it for some reason, I watch it during the holidays since it gives me creepy winter vibes haha- The character designs and music are also really fun
Okay just reading your comment gave me deja vu like I've seen that movie but I can't remember tell me a little bit about the plot to see if that helps me jog my memory Edit:please
@@Pandie2828 it’s about a boy who’s born with a frozen heart so his adopted mother gives him a cuckoo clock for him to use as a heart. Because of this, he cannot fall in love or else the clock will tick too fast and cause him to die. But then he goes and falls in love because plot lol
Man, I LOVE how so many people are reviewing this film now and getting it more recognized. It's honestly a big fav of mine (my icon inspired) and lead to me drawing for a solid 9 years now of character development and storytelling
I noticed you like horror movies and game from a subverted innocence genre so I suggest Spooky's jumpscare mansion or if your looking for a show during the fall I recommend over the garden wall! they're both very underrated and it would be nice to give them some recognition (:
I remember watching this as a child, I think I was 4 or 5? I found it a few days ago after randomly remembering it. Idk why, but I loved it as a child and completely ignored the horror elements ;o;
I like to think that 7 was a representation of the scientists wife who had passed away or something and he thought of her when he wanted to be brave and fight for something. That would also explain why she ran off during arguments and maybe the traits 9 had where what the scientists wife had fallen in love with
I think. Since brain is the logical emotionless side of the inventor, what would happen if the brain absorbed 9 if 9 is humanity? Would brain finally have a full sentience and realize everything it's done and is forced to wander the earth with it's actions?.
I'm really glad you gave this movie some recognition, It's not perfect but it has an incredibly unique and peculiar vibe to it that I was afraid would be forgotten in a few years, so I'm glad it's making somewhat of a comeback now!
You know what's funny is that I think the stitchpunks failed in the end since brain was litterally the creator's brain and the stitchpunks are his soul plus in the tape of the scientist he litterally says that the brain failed because it lacked a soul which it tries to obtain during the movie. If the brain would have won it would have been the scientist and could have fixed the world.
I remember this movie, tho I saw it once, but being a 10 yrd and a scary cat and...well, I didn't have a choice but to watch it tho I didn't want to, it kept me with nightmares for like a week thinking of the freaking machines were gonna come and kill me(and my parents just laughed it off like...what-) but after seeing your video I can actually see the movie better, by the animation, the plot, the characters, everything, now I actually wanna see it again! Cuz I like creepy stuff now xD

Oh my goodness, thank you!! This is one of my favorite movies ever! I fell in love with the style and the mystery. I wish it was longer and made its story and characters more fleshed out. I'm so glad you're reminding people of this gem!
This movie introduced me to thriller and horror as a kid. I learned that horror, fear, and suspense can be intriguing and reflective.
Just putting this comment here so I can come back after 24 hours when I’ve watched the movie and this video to edit and say something relevant.
me: *reads title* yeah, ive heard of the number 9
the video: *movie review*
me: oh im stoopid :V
For whatever reason, this movie barely scared me as a kid (except the baby-face naga thing). Ironic considering stuff like 'The Gremlins" did scare me-
Omg i love ur channel, you’re watching all my childhood movies and it brings so much nostalgia and happiness. Alot of my childhood movies were definitely not for children lol but they are still my favourite movies.
This video unlocked so many old memories. Holy shit, I haven't seen this movie in AGES.
I dont know the title, but I've watched it. It's just me I guess, all the time.
This movie was made when my older brother was born and then in 2011 I was born then in 2013 we watched it!
*a l l I r e m e m b e r e d w a s t h e s c a r y p a r t s*
When you showed the voice of 8 just saying 'Quiet', I was like "I know that Voice... thats Soldier76 from Overwatch!"
- looked it up and it really was Fred Tatasciore ^^
This brought back memories, I can remember loving 9 as a kid and yet somehow I was scared of it in my later years, regardless I’m going to go find it from wherever the hell it ended up in my attic.
I watched this as a kid. I was 10 when it came out, my sisters were 6 and 3. This was the 3 year Olds favorite movie til she was 10. I knew exactly which scene you were going to say was the most eerie, the over the rainbow scene, before too described it. The movie is scorched into my brain, every scene, and I will always recommend it as a child friendly scary movie.
[spoiler a bit]
This movie heckin made my eyes so puff I can't even see anything for a whole night. I didn't want anyone to die but the way the enemy take their soul is just heartbreaking to see, specially 2 and 5 also 6, I love them all so much except for 1-8 🙄. But yea this movie overall is super great!! highly recommended
9 used to be my favorite movie when i was younger.... it kinda used to scare me a little bit but it still brings back memories.... i wish i still had it......
also i didnt know this was pg-13 i didnt think it was that bad honestly cuz i watched it when i was 6 😅 but then again my parents let me watch Edward scissor hands when i was 6 so 🤷♂️
I was born in 2009, when 9 came out, it is my favorite movie.
When i was a really young kid, I'd watch this movie every night and I thought it was the best movie ever
9 the movie was my childhood I watched that since I was 4 years old
I remember seeing this as a commercial while watching coraline-
I remember watching this movie when I was like 4-6 and I LOVED THIS MOVIE, one of my favorite movies.
this is the first time I ever hear of this movie, it looks entrusting I might watch it :}
and btw I recommend watching "song of the sea" it's one of my childhood movies I enjoyed watch it and I wanna share that enjoyment with people :D !
Btw 8 was doing drugs... the magnet makes him high... but I think I get what you believed it was and think it's funny you taught of that first.
if they waited 6 more days to release the movie
it would have had been released on 9/9/2009
It was released in the US on 9/9/2009 But in the Philippines it was 3 hahahah
@@RosMo4 :0 my day has been lifted
I need to watch this movie again. The last time I'd watch this movie was in 2010. I've always thought this movie has a somewhat similar plot to the Matrix due to the machine controlling the world.
You should definitely watch the Animatrix. It's available on HBOMax.
If you haven’t seen it already, I heavily recommend Jack and the Cuckoo Clock heart! It’s a bit of a weird movie, but honestly I’ve always really loved it for some reason, I watch it during the holidays since it gives me creepy winter vibes haha- The character designs and music are also really fun
Okay just reading your comment gave me deja vu like I've seen that movie but I can't remember tell me a little bit about the plot to see if that helps me jog my memory
Edit:please
@@Pandie2828 it’s about a boy who’s born with a frozen heart so his adopted mother gives him a cuckoo clock for him to use as a heart. Because of this, he cannot fall in love or else the clock will tick too fast and cause him to die. But then he goes and falls in love because plot lol
@@thelovelyladylil Thank you I remember now I and had a feeling he died but I didn't remember how
Man, I LOVE how so many people are reviewing this film now and getting it more recognized. It's honestly a big fav of mine (my icon inspired) and lead to me drawing for a solid 9 years now of character development and storytelling
Idk how the creator think wow this is gonna be a good kid movie but really tho it gave a scary vibe
He didnt intend for it to be a kid movie though 😅 He just made an animated thriller and people back in the day assumed it was aimed at kids
@@RosMo4 but besides the thriller i think it's a good movie but yeah i thought it was a kid movie ahah
9 is my all time favorite movie and I'll always love it! It's so amazing!
I noticed you like horror movies and game from a subverted innocence genre so I suggest Spooky's jumpscare mansion or if your looking for a show during the fall I recommend over the garden wall! they're both very underrated and it would be nice to give them some recognition (:
You be discussing most of my childhood movies and it is nistalgic to look back
I agree with you. 9 should have been mute or have difficulty talking. Anyhow great video. :)
I remember watching this as a child, I think I was 4 or 5? I found it a few days ago after randomly remembering it. Idk why, but I loved it as a child and completely ignored the horror elements ;o;
I remember watching this when I was like 3-5 years old. Loved the movie but also gave nightmare fuel.
I like to think that 7 was a representation of the scientists wife who had passed away or something and he thought of her when he wanted to be brave and fight for something. That would also explain why she ran off during arguments and maybe the traits 9 had where what the scientists wife had fallen in love with
Awww shieee it's still my favorite movie til now even tho I'm still not recovered
I think. Since brain is the logical emotionless side of the inventor, what would happen if the brain absorbed 9 if 9 is humanity? Would brain finally have a full sentience and realize everything it's done and is forced to wander the earth with it's actions?.
The movie couldn't have waited for a release for another 6 days??? They missed a perfect opportunity for Sept. 9th, 2009 or 9/9/2009 like come on!
well, they started selling it and stuff on the 9th i think-
I'm really glad you gave this movie some recognition, It's not perfect but it has an incredibly unique and peculiar vibe to it that I was afraid would be forgotten in a few years, so I'm glad it's making somewhat of a comeback now!
Can I just say I absolutely love your pfp! Ryouga is best boiii
@@RosMo4 well now you just made me incredibly happy you recognise Ranma½, yes Ryoga is indeed THE best boy!
7 and 9 came from the same soul,
and are love interests for each other?
I call it self love
I remember this movie, tho I saw it once, but being a 10 yrd and a scary cat and...well, I didn't have a choice but to watch it tho I didn't want to, it kept me with nightmares for like a week thinking of the freaking machines were gonna come and kill me(and my parents just laughed it off like...what-) but after seeing your video I can actually see the movie better, by the animation, the plot, the characters, everything, now I actually wanna see it again! Cuz I like creepy stuff now xD
hiya!!! I would love for you to review A Dog's Courage!!! Its a korean animated movie that is from the creators of leafie: a hen into the wild
