    I binge watched this series. I could not stop watching. Every subject from his relationship with a trans woman to being drugged, groomed and raped by someone he thought was going to help him succeed, to how he along with us viewers yo-yoed emotions toward Martha from pity to hate and back to compassion. Very moving on every level.

    But did any of it really happen? He never pressed chsrges against those who supposedly ruined his life. Martha didn't go to prison, nor has anything come out for real about the stalking and all those messages.
    It's just as believable that these 2 are friends that may have had a fling and even created this script up between themselves. Martha gets an interview with Morgan, Gadd gets a Netflix series and West End show after being desperate yo become famous.
    Could it all just be a very elaborate script?

    i found this show soo frustrating and when i didn't think it could get any worse. it did. It wasn't one cup of tea. He gave her a free coke every day. Which she never drank. He could have started by not pouring her a drink.

    • @alisonreed4408
      @alisonreed4408 Месяц назад +15

      People are not perfect and he actually admits his mistakes in 6th episode, that he had such low self worth because of what happened to him earlier in life, that a part of him enjoyed the whole ordeal at the beginning and he blames himself for being part of the reason the stalking happened. IMHO honesty is another aspect that makes this series outstanding, he could have changed the story line and made himself look good and not portray that he has encouraged Martha but he chose not to do that

      @@alisonreed4408 yeah i understand. I found it so frustrating. i can understand the cup of tea but after that, why did he keep pouring her a drink when she never drank it anyway. He was just wasting product. She lied the first time they met. At the bus stop, he could have just called the police to have her taken to hospital but he chose to walk across the street. engage with her again and offer to take her home. She was harassing his friends and family and he did nothing. Then when this is all over, he wanked over her picture. I hope he gets therapy

    • @alisonreed4408
      @alisonreed4408 Месяц назад +7

      Yeah, it is frustrating but it's also a very realistic depiction of self-destructing behavior. I think you can encounter it in many people with such tendencies. Not a nice thing to witness, for sure.

    @user-John666 Месяц назад +4

    I'll go against the grain here and say that he's not only a very poor comedian, he's also obviously cashing in on the scenario. But surely the biggest question is why won't he name the guy who groomed him? Would we be as accepting of a victim of, say, Jimmy Saville, who refused to name him and allowed him to carry on? I call bullshit on the whole thing.

    • @harley4303
      @harley4303 27 дней назад

      Have you considered the power dynamics at play? The way Gadd could be blacklisted from working in film/TV if he were to accuse this person? Maybe he doesn't have direct evidence, it's one man's word against anothers. Rape often happens when only 2 people are in the room: victim and perpetrator. How is he supposed to back his allegations up? All he can do is tell his story.

    • @user-John666
      @user-John666 27 дней назад

      @@harley4303 The way the perpetrator was portrayed will mean that certain people in the industry either know who it is or have a good idea. If he's as close to the real 'martha' as she was portrayed then they'll be even more certain. Gadd owes it to potential other victims to say more.

    This guy honestly needs Jesus. We all experience low self worth to a point we would try and do anything to feel validated. But for heavens sake, how about just not caring what others think and just find a decent job. It's not like you're a freaking child or teenager. If someone stalks you, go to the freaking police rather than hesitate because you feel attached to something "grand". If you're going to sleep with your stalker, and let your rapist get away with everything, you are just neurotic.

      This psychological aspect of the story is exactly what makes it so interesting. Is it really THAT unusual to witness people with self-destructing tendencies? How many people are experiencing similar stuff? It gives you a new perspective on those who fall into the same bad patterns again and again, even though the "solution" seems so easy.
