- Baby Sleep Sack Set …. hot off the press! 🥰
I love making infant cocoon sets but decided I would like to design a set that can be for bigger babies as they grow.
This is what I came up with.
I used my Addi king and only one ball of Loops and Threads Baby Delight yarn. ONE BALL!!! Yay!
I also have made them with Craft Smart yarn and it takes two balls.
The doll baby in the picture is a big, heavy doll. She is 25” long and has a head circumference of 18”. There is still a lot of room for growth in this sleep sack.
Please see my other video on my channel which explains how to do the duplicate stitch heart pattern on the baby beanie.
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE AS WELL! ❤️ THANK YOU 🧶
I did a baby girl bow this morning thanks to you and this chain stitch pattern closing off the ends
@@laverngordon awesome!
You have the BEST BEST videos!!!
Awe…. Thank you so much! ❤️
I just love the bride stitch. You are brilliant knitter. Thanks for sharing.
I don’t know that I’m brilliant! Lol! But thank you for the compliment 🥰🥰
Very cute! Love your patterns!
Thank you 😊
I saw this last night so I am on my third panel, love the way you use the crochet hook to join the panels, thank you

Hi Shelley, I just made this little set along with matching no scratch mittens from your other video. It turned out beautifully :) thank you for your clear directions (once again lol) You have helped me learn to make some amazing gifts for my family over the last year.
Thank you Sandra❤️
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I am in the process of completing my second baby sack. I never knew or imagined that I could do the braid stitch. I thank you for your awesome tutorial. Also, I cinch my sack and it’s beautiful. I am also making my second heart for the baby hat, which is coming out so much better. Thank you once again and many blessings to you. Enjoy your video very much. ❤️
Awe thank you so much for your kind words. You have blessed my heart!
I’m so glad you like the tutorials. ❤️

I made three sleep sacs with hats and donated them at the hospital and they absolutely loved them
That’s wonderful!🥰
Absolutely adorable, love, love, love it. Can’t wait to make one, two or ten.
Thank you! 😊
Thank you fantastic video and instructions!
🥰
Love all your work it's all so cute, thank you for sharing
Thank you! 🥰
Beautiful!
I like this . I think I will try this pattern.
I too learned about the wool needles from JO Ju Ju.
I love it! Thank you so much 🥰
What do you think about using Velcro at bottom to make changing diapers easier? Otherwise great project.
Great grandma M
That’s a neat idea. However I would be concerned the Velcro would snag the project when it’s not closed. It may also not be perfectly lined up and be a bit abrasive on their feet from the inside. This cocoon is not a right cocoon. It is not hard to take them in and out. 🙂Good thought though! Thanks for sharing !
Love this
Thank you so much!😍

It is awesome great work. Thanks
Your very sweet!
It would help if you provided the actual measurements of the finished saque. Thanks for the video.
I will remember that. But if you make one you can measure it …. Haha!😊
This sleep sack is on my list to do! Can you tell me how many rows on the baby hat? I know you said the sack pieces were rows. Thanks.
@@karlastrauss8224 I just reviewed my video and I cannot believe I missed the beanie section when I was editing. That was a long time ago and I never realizes it till now. So very sorry!
0-3 months 60 rows, 3-6 month 70 rows.
This would take about 5 or 6 tubes on the 22
I'm going to get the 40/48 pins for projects like these
@@laverngordon if you already have a 46 needle then the 40 would be my suggestion. It makes the best width for ear warmers. It’s also great for baby beanies.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet I only have a sentro 22 I need one of the bigger ones for wider projects which is best 40, 46, or the 48?
@@laverngordon Definitely the 46 or the 48. When you have the bigger one and the 22 your options are endless. Its what you need for animals. The Addi 46 is the best! If you are from the States the 46 is a great price right now. Lowest I've ever seen it. Here is the link.... amzn.to/3Aw099s
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet I'm on the island of Jamaica 🇯🇲 so I'll grab the 48 off Amazon or Temu. Thanks a lot
@@laverngordon if you click the link it will show in your country. It may be on sale there as well. Not sure.
I am trying to make this my 7oz. Is 100 yards shy of what your skein is, I am at 106 rows on my last panel 😩, is it okay to leave it on my Addi till I get more? I should get it by the 8th.
For sure it is. The hard part is not being able to use your Addi ! I feel for you! 😢
Hi Shelley, can you tell me the approximate length and width of your finished project? Thank you for a great video.
Sorry I cannot. I made this one and several more last Christmas and don’t have any to measure. Sorry.
I did the exact same thing with my nails. Now they are breaking and splitting and catching on everything.
It is frustrating for sure.
@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet it is, but time will heal. I love your tutorials. You are a very good teacher. I made this pattern yesterday. The braid stitch was new for me. I'm constantly learning new things. I appreciate your willingness to share and help.
Thank you so much! 💕You are very welcome!
Did I miss how many rows were in the baby beanie?
Sorry I missed this. 60. 😊
Love this pattern. Yarn question: I have a lot of Lion Brand Vannas Choice, will that work for this project?
I have not used that yarn but if it works in your machine it will definitely work for this project! Give it a try. 😊
will craft smart work on a Sentro Knitting machine? I'd like to try it? was curious. i may order those next when i use up my Bernat Pop by Yarnspirations and mandala yarn by Lion Brand i literally love both.
Craft smart works sometimes and sometimes not. It’s a tough yarn to work with as a rule.
Hindi love The Sack and i Made one Myself. How can i send a picture off it to you ?
Hindi is Hi
Hindi! 😍
I have had that questions asked a few times and there is no way to send a photo here.
Because you are another person who has asked, I am going to start a Koala Knits FB Group. We can all post there.
Next week I will work on it! Can’t wait to see what you made.
I made my first one made a mistake and did 100 rows but it did turn out. Not sure how to add a photo here. Thank you for the tutorial
I don’t think you can add a photo here. Too bad!
What was the name of the yarn you used?
I tell you at the very beginning of the video. 😍it is no longer available but it is a 3 weight. You can also use 4 weight.
hello, my baby is 8 months, 24lbs. would this fit a big baby like that? he is more like the size of a 18 month old because that's the size clothes he wears
This would fit an 8 month old but make the three panels and wrap it around him and if it needs to be bigger then make another panel. You could also make it the same and just add rows to make it longer.
What size machine did you use for the beanie? And how many rows?
Watch the video please
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet I did watch the video. It jumped right to the hat and no mention of machine size. Kind of a rude reply.
So sorry you thought I was rude. I truly never meant it to come across that way.
I get asked my row counts a lot when it is clear in the video and because it takes so much time to make a video I do not post row counts.
I made this video early into the start of my channel and as I was looking for the point in the video where I explained the beanie I realized it’s not there.
So sorry. 46 needle machine and 60 rows.
@@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet thank you! I love the sleep sack pattern. I am heading to the store now to buy yard to try and make it.
I also have other baby beanies on my channel. Take a look at the playlist. I have a cocoon that opens at the bottom. You may like that one as well.
Can you show me how to add letters when you do hat on your knitted machine
Hi there! I have a video on how to do duplicate stitching. You would do your letters with this technique. Scroll down through my videos and you will find it.
I just started a new FB group and would like to invite you to join. I would love to have you as a part of that community. Here is the link …..😍

hi. a friend of mine's daughter had a baby and was wondering if this set made for a real baby. i seen you used a baby doll, so my questions are, will it fit a newborn of 7 lbs. 12 oz baby?
Yes it’s meant for a baby. Lol I just didn’t have one to demonstrate. This will be a bit big for a 7 pound baby but will definitely be a great gift and baby will fit in it for months.
How many rows did you do for the hat? In the 3 weight is it the same outcome as 4?
The difference in size between the 3 weight or 4 weight yarn is very minimal. Use either. Sorry, I do not post pattern notes. It’s all there for you in the video. 🙂
I do believe she mentioned 60.
Was the baby beanie made on a smaller machine?
It was made on the 46 needle machine.
Thank you so much!
Made on Sentro 40
Do you have a pattern for this outfit 2:06
This is not a long tail cast on. I had the terminology wrong. So sorry. It’s just a regular cast on.
Would any acrylic yarn work? Number 4 weight?
Absolutely!
Is the Beanie also made with 60 rows of a 3 wt yarn? 0:02
Yes it is. 😊
What are those needles called? I would like to get some.
I am not sure what they are called because I don’t have the package. I got them at Walmart but if you type in metal darning needles on Amazon I’m sure they will come up.
