My sister went to jail few years back in the midst of battling a severe drug addiction. At the time she had lost almost all who she thought were her friends and life truly. I went to see her in prison here in the USA. I dearly missed her and wanted to encourage her. I went in that typical room with the two way glass with the payphone and we made eye contact and her spirit was crushed I could tell. I then signaled her to pick up the phone and sang her the beginning "hello how are you has it been alright though all those lonely lonely nights" and she sang the song back to me crying it made her so happy.Just something silly she would know to escape that reality. She now has been clean 2 years now, free and it was a good memory for her in a hard time.
    Thank you.

Little did I know that ELO would not tour the US after 1982. Only now, they are touring the US for their 2019 NA Tour. Do your self a favor and drive, fly, run to see possibly one of the

    “I’d tell you everything
If you’d pick up that telephone” I’m sure a lot of people can relate to these beautiful lyrics ... losing a great thing and trying to fix it or to rekindle that love... hoping, praying that there is some chance... “living in twilight” never getting a real answer to that question, just the endless ringing to someone who will not answer. I do not think that Jeff Lynne has ever received the credit that he rightly deserves. I'd like to echo Karl Zarling in saying that his music has made my life better since I was a lad. Whenever I hear Telephone Line I am transported back to 1976, listening to this song on my 8 track player in my bedroom. What a nice feeling that is. Thank you Mr. Lynne.

From Paul McCartney, Ringo Star, Tom Petty and Joe Walsh from the brilliant 2012 BBC Documentary Mr. Blue Sky: The Story Of Jeff Lynne (ELO-Traveling Wilburys) : " It took 4 Beatles and George Martin to accomplish what Jeff Lynne has done musically all by himself. Of course, by popularity and COMMERCIALLY, The Beatles are no 1 but musically Jeff Lynne rules. I am a huge Beatles fan but Jeff Lynne is better with Harmonies, Orchestration, as an incredible Producer, singer and songwriter". Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!!! Please Tour in 2022!!!

He worked in the Studio with The Beatles. He formed ELO and wrote, and performed some of the most timeless songs ever written. Then began writing and producing other famous artists. My favorite artist ( Tom Petty ) became a more mature and grounded song writer and artist while working with Jeff Lynne. Then they united with some of the greatest of all time and formed The Traveling Wilburys, and the Greatness continued. As a music Genius, they don't come any better than Jeff Lynne
