Kandi is an extremely sensitive person emotionally. She holds on to pain for a long time and expects people to give her back all the effort she gives them. When that's not reciprocated, she feels betrayed and like she's not worthy of that same kind of friendship. I feel. She is actually really good at expressing her emotions maturely, even if she cries.

She’s a Taurus through and through…ik firsthand because that’s EXACTLY how I am in my friendships. We’re loyal so much that sometimes it’s to a fault. We give so much of ourselves & when we feel like the same isn’t reciprocated, we take major issue with it. In this scene, LaTocha is trying to get Kandi to give her some specifics. Kandi just keeps saying like, "I never felt like you liked me." Both have very strong personalities and wills. Those can clash and bump heads some times. Kandi needs to make peace with it and let it go. It's been 19 years. Also, if you are on a reality tv show with them, doing shows and have a joint company, then, it appears to me that this has been put behind you and you can move on. I don't know anyone who still has beef that would be so involved with the group like that. You all are damn near 40 or at 40s door. I'm not getting why people keep joking about Kandi crying and talking...people act like they never got mad enough to where they just started crying. Not because there a cry baby but because the anger is so much. Its not an uncommon thing. And every time I've seen Kandi cry she's talking about something serious to her. If you've only had bad experiences in a group or felt you were an outcast why however many years later why would you want to be apart of it..? Tonks We really do. All these kandi comments are incredibly disheartening . Everybody says she's petty for holding a grudge and that she's being a crybaby but there is more to it than that. Actually Kandi and Tamika were BFF’s back in the day. Kandi have said this many of times. That’s why Kandi was so hurt when Tamika lied on her because 1 it was a blatant lie and 2 they were extremely close she said she would’ve done anything for Tamika. She said her and Tiny didn’t link up until towards the end of Xscape’s run. The only real issue within the group was Tocha and Kandi.

I think both Kandi and Tocha are alpha women - but because Kandi was always the youngest, she wasn't allowed to fully express her opinions openly and frankly. I always loved Xscape I am just seeing this now as I do not watch Tv but heard about the recent Xscape vs SWV thing. Man I am beyond happy they did this...but Tocha seemed like she didn't know.. she always struck me as the mean girl of the group with the best voice.. my favorite voice of the group anyways. I'm just beyond excited that this even happened. Because I knew that they weren't talking to each other for a long long time. I just hope that they got over it finally and put it to rest. As we don't have a lot of time here and one day none of us want to look back and regret things we didn't do because we were holding a grudge.
I think this was good of LaTocha. She sat down with Kandi and said "let's fix this". That shows growth and maturity! A lot of people slam Tocha, but she has grown up and wants to reconcile and have a great understanding with Kandi.

Personally I love Xscape but it always seemed like the Scott sisters were always trying to be the center and star of the group ... to me it was always Kandi whether she wanted it or not ... Everything pointed to her, she has a something that made her stand out ... I think they were a little bit jealous of that and that’s why they wanted to go solo.
Tocha was the only one who wanted to go solo, the scott sisters were not trying to be the center of attention, at least not Tamika, but Tocha is another story.
None of the ladies in Xscape wanted to go solo except LaTocha. I gave her the strong side-eye when she said that in her confessional. I remember the articles I read about her back then. Kandi just fell into her solo deal. I think she got it off the strength of her songwriting.

You're missing what Kandi is saying. I do believe that Latocha knows exactly what Kandi is talking about. I also believe Tameka would play both sides of the fence because again that's her sister and at the time Kandi even said her and Tameka were close. From what I gather, Latocha wanted the big sister/queen bee role and Kandy wasn’t going to be her yes man. Latocha used to her younger sister Tamika being her yes man and probably Tiny too. That’s why she felt she was the leader. Kandi was a challenge to her power and her ego. That’s more than likely why Latocha and Kandi bumped heads. I’m sure there were slight good moments that they had, but they were overall frienemies. And since Tamika and Tiny followed Latocha, Kandi was the black sheep to that XSCAPE sisterhood.
This almost dragged me into tears seeing the emotional and mental disconnect amongst these two. Tocha seems like a very stern and serious women who can be completely oblivious to anything outside of her own personal concerns while Kandi seems to be real chill, confident and accepting. The fact that she feels tocha never accepted her the same way is why she feels the way she does. I get a Bossy/ Control vibe from Tocha which probably would be hard to deal with in a female singing group
okay, so here it is. When the group first signed with SoSo Def, Jermaine took an interest in Kandi's unique sound. Now, she does have a different tone to her voice and it has a lot of versatility to it, but it is NOT a lead voice. Now, with three other girls in the group, of course that can cause tension and friction and cause people to butt heads if a person is being thrust in the forefront ahead of them. Tocha was not having that as she always saw herself as the leader of the group or vocals being the strongest in the group. Tocha has a lead singer voice, the tone, the dexterity of what she can do with her voice far outshines the other girls in the group. Producers and industry execs always want to place money on a person who could deliver the most commercial appeal and sell records. LaTocha and Kandi were going through a power struggle in the group and both wanted control. As Tocha said in an interview when they sat down with Essence, "we are two strongly opinionated people and we push for our points of view to be heard." Then introduce Jermaine who was sleeping with Kandi. Now, when you are in a group and their are four girls jockeying to sing lead and have their voices shine on records with solos and so forth, to have one of the group members sleep with their boss, producer and label head does NOTHING to smooth things over or make things better, because the perception is, oh she's sleeping with him just to have more solos or for them to push her to the front. With tension already in the group and they already were butting heads, this just added fuel to the fire. Also, Tocha wanting to go solo contributed to this as well. It's way more complex than some tears and grudges. Also, the business was not handled the right way as Kandi pointed out, so, really so many layers to this.
The source of their drama is Kandi was the lead singer and continued to be for the initial success of the group (1st album) the fans however; gravitated to LaTocha's voice and so did producers and Kandi was resentful because LaTocha became the lead from there on.
Until true understanding, deep healing and forgiveness takes place, it will be difficult for all of them to move on and find closure with past hurt. It takes the group being able to hear not just listen as well as agreeing to disagree. A neutral person to assist and healing doesn't come overnight. It takes time/patience like the words in the song. Different levels can bring different devils and no one is exempt from accountability. I truly wish all of them the best. I love this group.

In this scene, LaTocha is trying to get Kandi to give her some specifics. Kandi just keeps saying like, "I never felt like you liked me." Both have very strong personalities and wills. Those can clash and bump heads some times. Kandi needs to make peace with it and let it go. It's been 19 years. Also, if you are on a reality tv show with them, doing shows and have a joint company, then, it appears to me that this has been put behind you and you can move on. I don't know anyone who still has beef that would be so involved with the group like that. You all are damn near 40 or at 40s door. Actually Kandi and Tamika were BFF’s back in the day. Kandi have said this many of times. I always loved Xscape I am just seeing this now as I do not watch Tv but heard about the recent Xscape vs SWV thing. Man I am beyond happy they did this...but Tocha seemed like she didn't know.. she always struck me as the mean girl of the group with the best voice.. my favorite voice of the group anyways. I'm just beyond excited that this even happened. Because I knew that they weren't talking to each other for a long long time. I just hope that they got over it finally and put it to rest. As we don't have a lot of time here and one day none of us want to look back and regret things we didn't do because we were holding a grudge.

Personally I love Xscape but it always seemed like the Scott sisters were always trying to be the center and star of the group ... to me it was always Kandi whether she wanted it or not ... From what I gather, Latocha wanted the big sister/queen bee role and Kandy wasn’t going to be her yes man. Latocha used to her younger sister Tamika being her yes man and probably Tiny too. That’s why she felt she was the leader. Kandi was a challenge to her power and her ego. That’s more than likely why Latocha and Kandi bumped heads. I’m sure there were slight good moments that they had, but they were overall frienemies. And since Tamika and Tiny followed Latocha, Kandi was the black sheep to that XSCAPE sisterhood.

This almost dragged me into tears seeing the emotional and mental disconnect amongst these two. Tocha seems like a very stern and serious women who can be completely oblivious to anything outside of her own personal concerns while Kandi seems to be real chill, confident and accepting. The fact that she feels tocha never accepted her the same way is why she feels the way she does. I get a Bossy/ Control vibe from Tocha which probably would be hard to deal with in a female singing group

okay, so here it is. When the group first signed with SoSo Def, Jermaine took an interest in Kandi's unique sound. Now, she does have a different tone to her voice and it has a lot of versatility to it, but it is NOT a lead voice. Now, with three other girls in the group, of course that can cause tension and friction and cause people to butt heads if a person is being thrust in the forefront ahead of them.
Tocha was not having that as she always saw herself as the leader of the group or vocals being the strongest in the group. Tocha has a lead singer voice, the tone, the dexterity of what she can do with her voice far outshines the other girls in the group. Producers and industry execs always want to place money on a person who could deliver the most commercial appeal and sell records. LaTocha and Kandi were going through a power struggle in the group and both wanted control. As Tocha said in an interview when they sat down with Essence, "we are two strongly opinionated people and we push for our points of view to be heard." Then introduce Jermaine who was sleeping with Kandi. Now, when you are in a group and their are four girls jockeying to sing lead and have their voices shine on records with solos and so forth, to have one of the group members sleep with their boss, producer and label head does NOTHING to smooth things over or make things better, because the perception is, oh she's sleeping with him just to have more solos or for them to push her to the front. With tension already in the group and they already were butting heads, this just added fuel to the fire. Also, Tocha wanting to go solo contributed to this as well. It's way more complex than some tears and grudges. Also, the business was not handled the right way as Kandi pointed out, so, really so many layers to this.

It takes the group being able to hear not just listen as well as agreeing to disagree. A neutral person to assist and healing doesn't come overnight. It takes time/patience like the words in the song. Different levels can bring different devils and no one is exempt from accountability. I truly wish all of them the best. I love this group.

@@BlackGreedy18 I still sense some negative energy from Tocha when she's around Kandi. I don't think they'll ever really get past this. Kandi was closer to Tamika than Tocha and it hurt her when Tamika lied on her. But Tocha, I don't think she cares for her at all even if she apologizes. I can tell Tamika's apology was really sincere. It's something about Tocha that seems really fake to me.

@@BlackGreedy18 Yes I do. That was not that long ago. Even when they were doing promotion there was tension. Did you see their What's Happening After the Show or whatever it's called with Andy Cohen as the host. A mess. I just think Tocha feels that Kandi's success should have been hers. It was some party Kandi threw bc she made the cover of some magazine, and Tocha popped up. Kandi was looking like what you doing here. Tocha walked in looking for the cameras not Kandi. I guess since they're older now they are able to at least be in the same room. All that emotional stuff gets put to the side when money comes into play. You know Kandi loooove 💰💰💰.
And remember when Tocha took shots at Kandi during her confessional when they were rehearsing the dance steps. She was like we looking like 3 Kandi's back here. She didn't even have to mention her name
