you can hit them only after you parry them, it has to be the second it raises its wand though, otherwise you die. once you parry it, you critical it and kill it IMMEDIATELY otherwise it will end you. but! you get a cool talisman if you kill it so
If you kill them once thats it they won’t respawn, so thats a relief. Thanks for the info by the way. Great help

One of them drops the Aged One “madness” talisman which boosts damage by 20%. You can parry them which then allows you to kill them.
The thing is that if you parry their grab attack they become vulnerable and you can kill them, you get a talisman also
just equip the black knife armor
it muffles your footsteps and makes the stealth free.
There’s also a talisman that does the same thing
@HotTubMonke If you use it with the concealing veil talisman you won't be heard nor notice while crouching!

Fun fact if you parry the wand stab it actually breaks their invincibility and you can kill them pretty easy after that as long as you dint let Frenzy build up to high.

Then there’s an item in the Big house that essentially tells you to Parry them, then you can hit them

I HAD THIS EXACT SAME COMPLAINT I think build up is great but the fact that what you see just doesn’t really do much is crazy to me
You can Parry allowing you to hit them and you get something from them
a lot of the areas seem like an afterthought. like, they focused on 3-4 areas and left everything else as empty bare bones.
You can just parry them and once they’re defeated they don’t come back.

That's the most Bloodborne thing in the entire game second only to Ranni taking you to the moon.
This area was one of my favorite parts of the DLC. I love horror games and this was a nice change of pace from the usual Elden ring experience.
You can hurt those things you have to parry their attack and then use a counter to undo their magic defense

To be fair the game will actually tell you you can parry them in a diary entry. Someone says the creature thrust its staff in his face and he brushed it aside, and then the creature was vulnerable.
I think, personally, its a really cool area. Suddenly youve entered a place you definitely are meant to feel you shouldnt have entered. Like a survival horror segment
If you stick to the wall on the left in the fog you can sneak behind it

You have to parry they're grab spell once you do you can DMG them and dont let up or else you gotta parry again. But once they're dead they dont respawn
I loved this area, just parry the aging untouchables as they raise their staff to strike you. Easy.

You also can use items that makes your vigor higher like with me 80 vigor favor of earth tree plus 2 and crimson amber medllion plus 3 and i survived the shabriri lanterns ( thats what i call them ) attack

I loved the creepiness of the abyssal woods, however I HATE how big it is when there’s barely anything in it AND you can’t use your horse…it got boring real quick

I’m sure it wasn’t peak horror like people wanted but I thought it was a fun area, never seen anything like it in souls before. Also I’m just madly in love with the frenzied flame it’s just such a cool concept and aesthetic to me so the fact it had a whole section devoted to it in the dlc made me love it
Bro it's just boring. There's literally nothing in the entire area except the mansion which is technically it's own area. No items, no special enemies you actually fight, no anything except the small church that has like 2 items. That and the stealth was kind of a joke even without the ability to kill them. The area is barren and awful.
