- Totally did not mean to do this video at the same time as @NickiSwift , but alas. It’s hard to remember a day when Kim Kardashian (or the rest of the Kardashian Kamp) weren’t at the helm of a pop culture dynasty. But Kim’s humble, Calabasas millionaire beginnings can be attributed to one of her friends: fellow millionaire Paris Hilton. Though the hotel heiress initially employed Kim as a stylist, they quickly became close friends. When Kim’s greatest piece of film to date hit the masses, her fame exploded, quickly eclipsing Paris. Throw in a marriage to Kanye West, and momager Kris Jenner, and Kim quickly became larger than life. And now, all these years later, we’re still keeping up with the Kardashians (but now on Hulu!)

Paris was mortified, depressed and didn’t want to leave the house. Kim was out smiling for pap walks and eating that shit up. Paris isn’t perfect and I’m sure jealousy had a good bit to do with it but she was also upset Kim lied and used what was traumatic to Paris to boost her career. I think what also helps Kim is her family. Paris comes from a wealthy family but is usually solo. Meanwhile, we’re invested in literally all the Kardashians and Jenners and it’s crazy to think that the next generation will be obsessed with North and her cousins. Kris really did map this thing out perfectly. I’m just waiting for ONE to have actual talent like a musician or actor to break further into the industry bc the socialite/influencer landscape is always changing.

Lets be real, Nicole was the EVERYTHING of this show. While Paris was finding her light and looking for cute boys, Nicole was funny, endearing, really getting to know the crew. But they complimented each other tremendously!! Loved them... and even now that show was a cultural juggernaut of the 2000s. Lots of Von Dutch hats and velour sweatsuits.

I think Kim was Paris’ official downfall to fame Kim was the opposite of Paris, more exotic (her racially ambiguous look has always been a factor to her rise to fame), her proximity to black American culture (Paris was known in her heyday to be racist, classist and elitist to working class black culture), and had a huge connection to social media culture where as the the circumstances connected to them with black American culture becoming more popular and by default mainstream global pop culture, the internet was evolving to taking over the world, high end fashion and Hollywood celebrity culture were finally starting to come together, etc it was just perfect timing.

I believe the true reason why Paris and Kim had their friendship ended is bc Kim was the first Hollywood starlet that beat Paris at her own game and Paris couldn’t take her down, if you look up Paris’ history of friendships with other Hollywood starlets you would know she had/has a history of falling out with other girls in Hollywood bc she was jealous that they had at least some type of talent or potential to be on Paris’ level I was surprised to learn she played a part in actresses like Mary Kate Olsen, Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton careers being blacklisted bc most of those girls were talented and could’ve easily been in Paris but Kim became an exception, she had a smart way of getting to the top as well as also being in the right place at the right time and used that to her advantage, meanwhile Paris was losing her popularity and status as the it girl in the Hollywood club scene it’s similar to what happened in mean girls and heathers and that’s truly why Paris was in her feeling. I believe she’s in a better place now and has moved on but it’s clear she was in the classic case of the Queen Bee being dethroned

Paris is actually pretty well established, she might not be relevant in tabloids anymore but she has like 19 different lines of product that she successfully sells. And I think the reason her and Kim fell out is because Paris didn't release the one night in Paris video, her ex did that as a instance of revenge porn, Paris was really messed up from that and that's why her and Nicole richie fell out after she had a showing of Pariss prono. That's why Paris said Nicole knows what she did, who wants to talk about that openly with the press. The video wasn't a good thing for her to talk about. In my own personal opinion, I believe Kim or her mother, we don't know who, ripped the porno idea off from Paris and wanted to turn a profit from a situation that was traumatizing to Paris. that left a bad taste in everyone's mouth because Paris was still dealing with the hurt from that when Kim released her tape. I'd want to drop her as my friend too, using me and my misery for clout. Paris was also abused as a teenager. I think this is why she doesn't say much in the media. She keeps to herself and doesn't gossip like Kim. Yeah, sure she doesn't have the same popularity as the Kardashians but she's a Hilton. I highly doubt she is prioritizing or ever has prioritized what level of popularity her friends are at compared to herself. I also believe this is why Paris says she made kim, not Ray Jay or Kris Jenner. But that's all my opinion and observations from what I've watched. Who knows the real truth.

It was around the time of the wedding episode with Chris Humphries and her 72 hour marriage was around the time I quit watching the Kardashian shows regularly. The fact that I don't watch them regularly and I pretty much know all the gossip about them tells you how much they are always in the news.

Literally the only time I watch them is when I'm at my grandmother's house 😂 yet i know way too much about every member of that family. The Kardashian/Jenner family always seems to come up in relation to the most random things.
From my perspective it seems like Paris could’ve done way more to stay relevant longer, but for whatever reason chose not to. Even in all the years she was “over” she didn’t do anything out of the ordinary that would’ve put her back on the map of being the IT girl. Right now she is somewhat relevant again because of her This Is Paris documentary and the 2000’s coming back as a trend and also because she has taken part in social and political movements: such as the Provo School abuse campaign she started and speaking out in support of Free Britney.

The same way girls followed Paris’s style and fashion and catchphrases in the 2000’s is the same way they followed Kim and her family throughout the 2010’s. Honestly some people now don’t even know who Paris Hilton is which is shocking to me, but if you were at least a toddler in the 2000’s you will still remember her. There’s people who haven’t even heard Britney’s music or won’t recognize a song as being hers. Right before Kim married Kanye there was a rumor she had signed a contract to be Kanye's beard and to have his children and stay married for six years. When this rumor turned out to be true, it confirmed to me a lot of things.

Actually all of this information (except the call girl stuff) is easily found if you spend the time looking it up. But since time is the ONLY resource that's not renewable I am not doing it for you. I wasted much time in the past doing so and I won't fall for that again. You can either accept what is there, look up for yourself or deny it. The choice is yours.

Back in 2016 Wendy Wms said as much on her show.

Yea they are copying Paris AGAIN to shift into their next phase of fame. It is not a coincidence at all. Kim is aware Paris is the blueprint. Even though Kim has her own fame and now has more omnipresence I do think she recognizes there is something magnetic about Paris and it makes people want to watch her. Kim’s personality is just not as engaging. Her fame fuels her fame and post Kanye it seems to be faltering ever so slightly so I think she is reviewing the guidebook of you will and shifting accordingly.
She has her weaknesses as a woman, and an influencer; But in a society where everyone, good or bad, rich or poor, strives for success and relevance: she manages to get to the top despite all the hate, criticism, and challenges that generally comes with life. she uses everything that was in her path to build herself a better life, I admire that.

Paris is pioneer and real Queen. She has own reality Paris Hilton BFF. I think she has more personality and have sense of humour. I don’t think Kim can have own reality TV. I don't understand some of the comments here that seem to worship Paris for her old money and nonchalant coolness to put down Kim as inferior.
They're both similar in my eyes, maybe different personalities and aesthetics that draw different ppl, but I don't necessarily think one's better than the other. They were both rich, privileged, carefree young women who benefited from fame and in their older age have tried to leverage that fame for more substantial ventures, period.

Kim has even admitted it herself. She would do anything for someone to simply take her picture. At the beginning of her career, she would contact paparazzi herself. But paris & kim have been friends for a very long time dating back to when they were kids so I don’t think she had the full intention of using paris.
