I do like Vizie’s nuanced take on the angels, just as she does with demons. Some are murder-happy freaks like Adam and his gang. But most of them are just benignly ignorant. You got Emily and seemingly many like her who completely agree with Charlie that Adam’s actions are evil and sinners deserve another chance once they learned the grizzly truth. the thing that sticks out to me was that the reason they have the extermination is because sera was scared of hell rising up without any real evidence. she took one look at the fact that so many more were going to hell and decided it was a threat even though Lucifer seems uninterested in dealing with heaven at all after he was thrown out.
Actually, it was Adam's idea for Extermination. Sera doesn't like what Adam, Lute and Exorcists do to sinners, but approved it out of fear and desperation to protect Heaven from "uprising", but she does seem remorseful. Spoil for ep 8. I think Sera is a really good example of the saying "the road to Hell is paved with good intentions." I don't think Sera is as cold as people think, and I don't think she was lying when she said that "it was such a hard decision". According to Sera they were uprising, hence the need for exorcism. How true this is, who can say? But while I do not condone her actions I can sort of sympathize and see where Sera was coming from. She was afraid, and she wanted to protect her own people. Over time, it just became easier to maintain the status quo. What was initially a hard decision to exterminate human souls gradually became easier and easier, as Sera and the Exorcists became desensitized to it. In fact I'm almost certain those chosen to become Exorcists (or perhaps Exorcist angels are born instead of chosen?) were fed all kinds of propaganda by Adam about how demons are scum and deserve no sympathy nor mercy whatsoever, explaining how they're able to kill them without a second thought and you wind up with particularly bloodthirsty Exorcists like Lute. Whatever uprisings had occurred in the past were gradually forgotten in the sands of time, and both demons and angels forgot that it was possible to harm and kill angels. Am I saying that what Sera did was right or that she is wholly innocent? No, most definitely not. She should have realized her mistake and came clean, and atoned for it by changing the rules (assuming she even has that ability, since it seems like who goes to Heaven or Hell isn't entirely within her control as she doesn't actually know what makes a soul go to Heaven and was shocked when Sir Pentious wound up in Heaven after redeeming himself). Either way, Sera does seem to genuinely bear guilt regarding her decision and although she may see it as a necessary evil, I predict that the show will prove otherwise and it will become possible for demons to ascend by reforming at the Hazbin Hotel. Well, Sinner Demons anyway. Sadly I don't see a way for Hellborn Demons to ascend but they're exempt from Extermination anyway, apparently. Either way Sera is a more complex and multi-faceted character than I think people give her credit for. It's easy to see the world in black and white but that's kind of the whole point of the show, is that there are shades of grey. There are good demons and bad angels, as well as everything in-between with most falling somewhere in the middle.
Okay, I’m sorry, but the « It was such a hard decision ». From someone who suffered abusive relationship, it hits so hard, because you KNOW it wasn’t such a hard decistion for Sera, she wasn’t directly affected by the extermination and her twisted version of a perfect happy, joyfull heaven would be comfirmed. A really interesting direction I think the show might take, though it might be too political idk, is having some of the people in heaven kind of overcompensating and trying to support hell in really unhelpful privileged ways. Maybe even some characters from heaven might try and fall on purpose out of solidarity while being ignorant of hells culture and the actual struggles of the people living there. The way that America likes to rally behind a random country every couple years to try to raise awareness but ultimately just kinda make it about themselves and not do anything actually helpful. On a similar note, we could see some characters legitimately deciding to fall and switch sides on purpose and actually be helpful but I feel like Emily set that up to pretty much definitely happen (unless some kind of twist is coming up or they change their minds and decide not to run with that plotline) so I wouldn't call it a theory as much as media literacy. I like that this show kinda makes fun of everyone and supports them at the same time. There are naggy old coots and bold trendsetting girlbosses, there are toxic patriarchs and caring fathers. Charlie is probably the best example, she's a passionate visionary but she's also a naive child (i know shes not literally a child). Forgive the long post I just really love how this show has something to say without being hypocritical, most preachy voices cant say much without hating and blaming someone else but this show seems to be saying that there are good people and bad people everywhereand it doesn't matter what club they're in, all that matters is their actions not their talk. Honestly the only example of egalitarian media that comes to mind.
What people often realize is that, atleast in what I understand about Catholicism, is that if there are even a sliver of goodness in you, you would just go to purgatory and those in hell are really intrinsically incapable of being good. You don't just commit a sin and be dammed in hell automatically.
I love that changing pace of music, when "hell" is talking there is a lot of faster pace and heavy guitars and when heaven talks is like a bit slower without that guitar. And when Emily i Charlie say their acussation music start to be very heavy, like it's most important moment in this song. And it probably is.

1:09 That just straight 🔥
Okay can we please start talking about how amazing and underrated Lute’s voice is-
The angels in the background: "I didn't know it was musical night..."
What people often realize is that, atleast in what I understand about Catholicism, is that if there are even a sliver of goodness in you, you would just go to purgatory and those in hell are really intrinsically incapable of being good. You don't just commit a sin and be dammed in hell automatically.
Emily:"WAIT!? " Adam:"shit... "
Best song in the show, hands down.
3:03 HELP HER FACE-
2:14 look at the fear in Sara's eyes... Seeing her sister side by side with a demon. I'm worried for Emily...
Sang this under my breath while doing my math test in my ultra religious math teachers class lol
finally! a high definition uncesnored version, thank you!
I love that changing pace of music, when "hell" is talking there is a lot of faster pace and heavy guitars and when heaven talks is like a bit slower without that guitar. And when Emily i Charlie say their acussation music start to be very heavy, like it's most important moment in this song. And it probably is.
Why do I see Sera trying to hide Pentious away and emily spreading the truth until sera sends her to hell
1:04 He didn’t cough.
0:58 Damn Her voice is beautiful
This is definitely the original version I heard when watching the show. Did people watch this with censoring?!
Prime uploaded the song to RUclips but censored the swearing
Prime is censoring swears on YT. You know, YT rules. They want money.
@@sowenia9725 Loser, Baby wasn't censored though, lol
@sowenia9725 i thought they can't curse for less than 7 or 8 seconds.
Maybe they censoring only new videos, no idea xD@@anakomaru
Ngl Lute is kind of a baddie
Don’t get me wrong but for some reason I feel like lutes the best person in this whole song.
2:42 this part was so cold, I love it.
