It IS beautiful, but that stuff is so unstable, I don't know what they could actually use it for.
I would have had you cut it 3/8 thick, and used it as veneer for cabinet doors. Maybe even 1/4

I'm in the Yukon Territory of Canada. We have lots of trees, but only very few species - still recovering after the ice age. I love watching the milling of the hardwoods - and appreciate the magic you find in them. & I lived a long and loud (and happy) work life so have a hard time following US regional accents. Emerald speaks very clearly and I can understand exactly what she is saying. All the best, and I appreciate your videos greatly.

Nice looking planks. I know a lot of the Europeans who watch are envious! We have an awful lot of Pin Oak growing here in Maryland & Pennsylvania. Lots get bull dozed away for more housing & development. Plenty of Willow Oak, White Oak & more. I turn garden tool handles from larger limbs that we trim.

Thank you, I really enjoyed this video on quarter sawing oak. Please do more videos on the 'how to' of lumber. Suggestions; as a lumberjack what is the Boss looking for when he is deciding which tree to harvest and which tree not, how he sees trees grow and what makes for a good harvest, as sawyers how do you read a log to get the best looking cuts to mill wood to be used for special purposes. Please explain more the science of wood and how it moves and changes during curing and what we as consumers should be watching for as we buy wood for different types of projects. ThanX, Dan
