I really liked this too and that you said at the very end is sooooo relatable for me the thing about missing your carefree self I used to be a light, like I wasn’t in anyone’s face but I was.l aware on the impact I had I was just happy go lucky and it kinda dies out around 27 and then I worked at this super homophobic construction job where I couldn’t express myself like at all I was like made fun of and like if I tried to let my old fun side out I’d be like shit down like I was there for 3 years and then have been in better work environments but I just know that happy boy is still inside and he comes out here and there but I just haven’t heard it out so eleoquently and haven’t related to something more so hard in years and you and your videos have always been good vibes man I’m glad you are still being healthy and doing what you love and glad you felt reinvigorated by this trip man pray or wish I can get back into working out and being that guy I once was lol you can see that kid if you search Robby it gets better AACC lol kinda camera shy in that Anyways love you mark great vid
You never miss with your portrayal of human emotion, Mark and should be so proud! It always resonates with me as someone going through a similar time. I didn’t really have words to put to those feeling but that feeling of loss of youthful sparkle hit home, even at a mere 26 years old. Time and looking inward as cheesy as it sounds heals all and just gotta keep going and finding things to love and enjoy on this planet full of us tiny little beings. Such an awesome vid :)
I genuinely don't know how two amazing souls can connect so easily like that and spend a regular day together doing good vibes stuff. I can barely get any of my friends to meet up with me :')
Only just "met" Miles through this video, and I like him a lot. The last part really resonated with me Mark. I'm about 10 years older than you, so it's hard for me to even remember _if_ that youthful carefree kid ever even existed beyond early childhood. My growing years were all about education and getting on with work, and consequently I have a good job which fulfils me, but it also _consumes_ me. Last week was atypical, but I was on duty for 110 hours, and I didn't do anything fun the entire week, not one thing spontaneous or just for the hell of it. I haven't been on vacation abroad for six years now, and it's not only work but also some real health issues in close relatives that mean that is the case. I can feel "life" (as opposed to work life) passing me by, so thank you for the timely reminder that there is another person inside us all, crying to be let out. I hope your video also helped other people too.
coming up on 29 and I’ve been more open and honest with my emotions and who I am than ever. I hate that I locked that little kid in me away for so long just to protect him, but I truly do feel that light and happiness coming back. thanks mark for being honest and more authentic with us than u have ever been. ive been here since ur “putting pants on without hands” and I feel like ur more u than u have ever shown us. love xx 🤍
Soooooooo, I turned 70 this year and i was listening to the end of your video and I wanted you to know that I feel younger now than I did in my 20's I still have a curiosity and zest for life and desire to keep going!!! I don't miss my 20's in any other way than the fact that I mentality don't feel older than 25 Thank you for being a lovely part of my life ❤
@escooter: That's what I realize too. At some point you're stuck in your state of mind and you're not getting any older and age is just a number that you become less able to believe every year. So good to know. You took away my fear of getting older!
I'm going through a similar phase too right now. Turning 27, full time job well away from the college/young area. I reflect back on times when I felt really creative and had that brighter perspective about either life or the future. I ended up making a list on my phone of "Life Enhancements" which are like lists of things I want to get back into that I lost touch with, whether it's yoga or music ensembles or just even hiking. I think the area you are in and the people you choose to surround you with really play into getting back into that mindset too. Your light is in there Mark! Just as much as I know mine is too. Sometimes you need to combine a few sparks to get the creative fire started again, and that's where the friends you make and the family you choose really comes in. Glad someone else is feeling this too! Thanks, Mark
Mark, I ve been following you from the very beginning, and dude. I swear watching you and Miles was like watching you when you were back in college.. Your face showed that you were enjoying yourself.. Getting old doesn't get easier, so prepare now slow down and enjoy your time.
Oh, Mark! You just make me want to give you such a long embrace! You're so sweet and gentle. You give so much to others, but you need someone who pours into you. I hope you find that soon...❤
What helps me to access that “youthful spirit” because I have difficulty finding it myself is to be around other people who exude that type of energy. Often times being around people like that is infectious.
What you said at the end, I resonated so deeply with. This video hit so many notes in me and how you talk about people as if they are people rather than objects to avoid or move past is monumental. Thank you for sharing!
I bet when you’re in your 90s, you’ll STILL honor your younger self. The nice thing about growing older is that you then add wisdom to the more carefree parts of yourself. Best of all worlds 😊
I haven’t watched a vlog like this in years, wow what a great one. Mark, you are a great person and I loved the unexpected ending. Mile’s positivity is amazing! So glad the two of you were able to meet :)
You are just fine and where you are supposed to be at this point in your life. It sounds trite, but wisdom grows in us as we do chronologically. And that manifests in all your posts.
"Love Yah, See Yah, Byeee!" simple, youthful, and charismatic ❤we all grow up & life is full of complexities. We must change within ourselves to deal with life. Mark-E-Miller 2.0, different energy, but still simplistically & charismatically beautiful (youthful). I hope when you cried you found beauty in your youthfulness and it brought new light on just how far you have come, how amazing you are, and going to be! 😊
We love you Mark! Don’t ever lose you’re spark ⚡️ fight for it. In this world, a lot of times you have to no matter what people around you might say. Very refreshing video glad you got to experience it and film it for others. It’s a little reminder. Life is infinite.
Loved the message at the end. I think we change a bit as we grow. We learn and absorb new things, but we are never truly different. Sometimes we mask who we are and it's not the best thing to do. Surrounding yourself with people who bring out the best in you, your true authentic self, is what I think we should all search and strive for. The older I get the less I care what others think. If I'm not true to myself, I'm not happy. If I'm hiding my goofiness or nerdiness, it's just a fake reality. Why do I need to fit in, people should just accept me for me and when they do it's absolutely beautiful. I think the old mark is still there within you, maybe just evolved. Life is not a plateau, there are bumps, hills, and bridges along the way. Sometimes we must climb mountains to achieve something. It's all in the journey my friend.
Didn’t know how much I needed to watch this video, the reminder that our young care free self is still there, is genuinely just what I needed, love the video and every day is a great day should definitely come back! ❤
totally been having those moments where I think of young-care-free self. And I too have been trying to incorporate those qualities back into my present self. Beautiful work!
I'm so glad you loved Greenville! It's such a beautiful small city that's really growing into its own. I've had quite a few friends move there, and it's such an amazing place!
Mark - it has been so special to watch your content evolve over the years. You made me fall in love with video as an art form when I first found your channel 9 years ago. All these years later you've gone from being an incredible vlogger into a master storyteller. I used to binge your videos as soon as they went live and now I find myself savouring them for exactly the right moment when I need to be reminded why I first fell in love with art. Thank you for all you do. ♥ from one creator to another!
Omg Mark, I watch your videos for years and what you do with captions and music is just so relaxing to watch. Love it! And seriously the views that Miles showed you. Gorgeous! For me it's a dream to live close by mountains like that.
That guy so much resembles my nephew. His voice, mannerisms, sense of humor, etc... My nephew's not the free thinker but crazy similar. From someone who turned 60 earlier this year there are "mature" people who are creative, interesting, spiritual, free thinking as well.
Ten years later, you still look great and handsome like a fine wine Mr. Hello from the other side of the world from your earliest clan of your subscriber ❤
This was an amazing vlog. Now I have two young men to look up to. You and Miles. Guys like you are the future leaders of this country and maybe the world. Glad you had Miles on your video. I will definitely check out his channel. He seems so nice and down to earth. And like you he truly seems genuine. I can just tell by the aura that you both exude that you are both good men. I can spot good people after hearing them speak for a short period of time. Mark, thank you for being you and having this channel. I always feel better after watching whatever you are doing and saying. You are a very positive person. You truly are a special man and deserve all the best life has to offer. I will keep watching. Please make more vlogs. I could watch you every day
Mark, the young have their energy, hopes and dreams, but it takes time to learn to deal with reality in a balanced way. You are obviously learning that, while reminiscing about the more care-free days of youth. Maturity does have its advantages, as well as its challenges, but one thing that you learn is to remember and cherish the days of youth, while being aware of the incomplete and unfulfilled life back then, and if you've done anything well (which you have) you can bring it all into a balanced perspective and both appreciate where you've come from as well as where you are. Maturity is learning from your youth, without regretting your youth, since the marvelous person that you are is a product of all the both fulfilled and shattered dreams that were part of your youth. On a lighter note: I'm glad that you met your "crush"! Now if I could only meet mine - but I don't think Ryan Reynolds will ever come to meet me in Indianapolis. He's so gorgeous, witty, smart, and masculine - what else could one ask for? Anyhow, I've enjoyed following you from your college days, and I hope that I am able to continue to see you grow and mature in a fun and healthy way!
Beautiful video and going off to meet someone you follow has magic. So you won't be losing your spark for a while. I surely never lost mine. And I am 86!
Hi, I have always looked a lot younger than my real age. People guess it 5,10 or 15 years younger than I am. That makes me feel very good. I still think I am young. In my twenties. Just have your mind think young and your body will feel that age!!😀!! Mind over Matter. Mark if you read this let me know what you think or feel about this comment. I hope you feel the same way. I am originally from Indiana. Probably not far from where you live. Say hi to all your friends then everyone will feel good towards each other!😀. Very Sincerely, Steven
It's so weird, the ending of this video I feel the exact same way. Not sure what it is but there are a lot of people in my life that also feel like this, maybe its the universe being in a weird mood but I totally get it. We're all here for each other :)
Great video. I love Greenville and almost moved there years ago. I couldn't get my company to transfer me. You can't stay in your 20s but you can carry them with you as you age. YOU ARE! Stay positive and awesome.
This video was so therapeutic! 😘 this video was so good. If this guy is your crush, I hope the feeling is mutual on his end and it grows into something much deeper. You deserve all the happiness & love life can throw at you brother. ❤
The way my heart broke when you said he was straight 😂 you were so compatible. Also miss the great day catchphrase, hopefully those vibes will come back to you soon ❤
As soon as I heard Mark say "..I want to be like.. realistic and raw.." at 11:06 I mean.. he doesn't even notice how real he presents himself sometimes.. all I want now, is for him to feel good enough to let us see all of his sides/moods and not the good parts. We're with you Mark ♥
your content is always so well thought out and shot and entertaining i hate to see you at such a young age ( I'm nearing retirement) and thinking you've lost the glow of youth it's been a privilege watching you grow into the amazing man you are i don't think you're lost that youthful eye that has produced so many wonderful tales and visits to meet and see so many different people and places don't regret getting older enjoy your drive to explore and as always make today a great day
Dang this is so true. I go back and forth all the time on how much harder life was in my 20s but how much happier I was because I was optimistic about life and people. Now I’m 37 and although my life is so much easier, I’m so much more pessimistic about life and people. 🥹😢
This hits close to home. I used to date, in a long term relationship now, and guys would say to me "You have this zest for life that is attractive". It was endearing but weird. This video helped me finally get it.
Been to Greenville and its a lovely city! However, there's no place like home and, perhaps, you should check out what's happening in the fort! Indy truly isn't your home! The fort needs people like you, Mark!!
So cool!! I’m literally two hours away from Greenville and I’ve been at those exact places in the pics!! That’s so cool ! I’ve been a fan for years and never thought South Carolina would be a place for you to visit!! Hope you had fun!
Hi Mark! Can you please do a "2.0-version" of your "Every day is a great day"-shirts and hoodies? I bought some YEARS ago, and still have one single shirt left that I decided not to wear every now and then, because I like the print so much, and the positivity that is associated with it. ... You might feel like your 20-year-old is gone, but I can simply see a great older version of yourself. That's pretty normal. So, keep going, keep laughing, and keep posting. You - still - inspire so many people out here. Cheers, Timm
I live in Charlotte, NC but am planning a move to the Greenville area. I've been traveling there for family for years. Great town. You won't miss Indy.
If you’re ever in Ohio, you’ll have to visit The Ohio State University main campus. I’m a music student there currently finishing up my last year of undergrad before continuing a masters in music and it’s definitely keeping me in touch with my younger creative self. I have been able to collaborate and connect with so many people in such an exciting way and it makes me so happy to do what I love. I’m studying Music Education but have also taken up composition and have gotten to perform my music in a world renowned art gallery, write for the animation department, and speak about the arts to the college of arts and sciences alumni council. The campus and Columbus itself are so rich with art and creativity right now and it has really helped keep my spirit alive given everything going on in the world. I’m sure a creative person like yourself would be so enthralled and revitalized by the arts district part of campus specifically. So much incredible collaboration and creativity. Keep being creative, the world needs it.
This was well worth watching just for the 'day-in--the-life' aspect, but the introspective coda really blew me away. As an older gay guy, I can relate to 'who is that old guy in the mirror' feeling? There are many healthy ways to sensibly and sustainably recapture our youthful sense of joy. (And many more unhealthy ways!) Never stop learning, loving and living with awe, wonder and gratitude for the world and people around us.
That watering thing Its a Botijo, a spanish product that can keep water chill without refrigeration, even in summer days! Its Walls and design create an evaporation and condensation cicle that makes the Heat go away. So, Its a drinking device
Love yya Mark and I 100% relate to this! The older you get you just start looking inward or reflecting on our past selves. I too have been trying to remember and remind myself not to loose this aspect of myself. I really love having friends of all ages because it always helps me with this a lot/I learn something from everyone. Anyways, this was a great video/trip as well! Really like Miles and what he stands for! So awesome! Love ya!👌😀💕
Mark, where do you get all of your positivity from my brother? I wish I could be more like you, I always feel so miserable and agitated, and I don't want to be that way :/ Been watching for probably a decade now, peace and love bro ✌🏼 Edit: Just finished the video and now I need to add in that it feels like you're more or less answering my previous comment...I feel the exact same way, I'm 32 and I wondered when I stopped being the old happy, not jaded, patient Aaron. I miss that guy because somehow I lost him along the way, but maybe he's still in there somewhere and I just have to reconnect like you said ♥giving me hope, my guy, much love.
and i f you ever read this Mark. Please know you have inspire a lot of us too much. in a lot of ways as a gay men, as a entrepreneur, as a human being to strive and to be better and that is something that you have to be proud of THANK YOU MEN from the bottom of my heart. LOVE YA AND SEE YA AND A BYE !1
don’t sleep on Greenville. It’s actually a pretty booming area. I’m constantly meeting new people and when I tell them I used to live in South Carolina they would light up and ask me about Greenville and I’m like…”how do you know about greenville???”. I’m currently living outside of Chicago but my dad lives in Greenville. If I go back to the Carolinas I can see myself settling in Greenville county or Charlotte, NC but the battle is…California VS Carolinas. anyone wanting to move to the Carolinas ummm do your research cause some spots are not it💗😁
I liked the video ,you were only 2hrs from where I live in NC & would've made the trip to Greenville to have coffee and hang out a bit if you had the time & I had known you were in the area! I try my best to stay tuned to my inner youthful self and quite often that's what has kept me going at times,so I hope you continue to find & connect with your youthful self(even though you really aren't that old-at least not in my eyes)! XOXO
Mark! This was such a special video. It feels like we’ve been friends for a long long time and we just met! Hope to see you again soon!!!

Mark, I adore you. I’m so incredibly grateful for stumbling across your channel like it feels like forever ago. You have been such a blessing. ❤️

Anyhow, I've enjoyed following you from your college days, and I hope that I am able to continue to see you grow and mature in a fun and healthy way!
upstate VIBES! I love my hometown Greenville. Thanks for taking us to visit Miles yo
Loved this Mark and your introspection at the end. You’re awesome.
Beautiful video and going off to meet someone you follow has magic. So you won't be losing your spark for a while. I surely never lost mine. And I am 86!
Hi,
I have always looked a lot younger than my real age.
Very Sincerely,
Steven

It's so weird, the ending of this video I feel the exact same way. Not sure what it is but there are a lot of people in my life that also feel like this, maybe its the universe being in a weird mood but I totally get it. We're all here for each other :)
Youthful spirit is a challenge to resusitate. He's there. Waiting. Connect.
I didn't know how much I needed this video especially today. Thank you so much and I'm so excited for you to have your spark ignited again 🥰💕
Great video. I love Greenville and almost moved there years ago. I couldn't get my company to transfer me. You can't stay in your 20s but you can carry them with you as you age. YOU ARE! Stay positive and awesome.
I don't even remember when was the last time I watched any of your videos, and this one is so great.
I love that he said something so serious, and in the end just did a spin totally out of nowhere hahahaha
This video was so therapeutic! 😘 this video was so good. If this guy is your crush, I hope the feeling is mutual on his end and it grows into something much deeper. You deserve all the happiness & love life can throw at you brother. ❤
Keep the light on!
We're with you Mark ♥
your content is always so well thought out and shot and entertaining i hate to see you at such a young age ( I'm nearing retirement) and thinking you've lost the glow of youth it's been a privilege watching you grow into the amazing man you are i don't think you're lost that youthful eye that has produced so many wonderful tales and visits to meet and see so many different people and places don't regret getting older enjoy your drive to explore and as always make today a great day
Today I loved you smiled and you were having fun :) have missed these moments! Every days a great day ❤️
I don’t think people lose the youthful spirit, it gets beaten out of them by society and capitalism
facts
Dang this is so true. I go back and forth all the time on how much harder life was in my 20s but how much happier I was because I was optimistic about life and people. Now I’m 37 and although my life is so much easier, I’m so much more pessimistic about life and people. 🥹😢
This hits close to home. I used to date, in a long term relationship now, and guys would say to me "You have this zest for life that is attractive". It was endearing but weird. This video helped me finally get it.
i felt like Simba and male version of Nala. Loving this .. maybe we can see becoming them an item ... would love this
Been to Greenville and its a lovely city! However, there's no place like home and, perhaps, you should check out what's happening in the fort! Indy truly isn't your home! The fort needs people like you, Mark!!
Thank you for this video. My favorite part was you share at the end.❤
Miles looks like Shawn Mendes. That is how you treat your crush. Thanks Mark 😎💖
Another great video Mark!
So cool that you are/were in SC. I'm up in NC!!! 😱😱😱
Hope the Carolinas treated you well!
I have a new crush omg Miles radiates such a beautiful light
Here's to 'The Light In Your Eyes'!~~
Love yya Mark and I 100% relate to this! The older you get you just start looking inward or reflecting on our past selves. I too have been trying to remember and remind myself not to loose this aspect of myself. I really love having friends of all ages because it always helps me with this a lot/I learn something from everyone. Anyways, this was a great video/trip as well! Really like Miles and what he stands for! So awesome! Love ya!👌😀💕
Omg you're in my city too!! So glad you enjoyed it !
What a cool guy, and Mark your the coolest. Thanks again for sharing your experiences. ❤
Mark, where do you get all of your positivity from my brother? I wish I could be more like you, I always feel so miserable and agitated, and I don't want to be that way :/ Been watching for probably a decade now, peace and love bro ✌🏼
Edit: Just finished the video and now I need to add in that it feels like you're more or less answering my previous comment...I feel the exact same way, I'm 32 and I wondered when I stopped being the old happy, not jaded, patient Aaron. I miss that guy because somehow I lost him along the way, but maybe he's still in there somewhere and I just have to reconnect like you said ♥giving me hope, my guy, much love.
I've been following you for years and proud to be one of the 90% that is gay!
Phenomenal video Mark. Thank you.
Mark you looked so happy with Miles
I want my life to have made a difference. Not looking for fame. Just being there for people one at a time
and i f you ever read this Mark.
If I go back to the Carolinas I can see myself settling in Greenville county or Charlotte, NC but the battle is…California VS Carolinas. anyone wanting to move to the Carolinas ummm do your research cause some spots are not it💗😁
Great days are forever and have nothing to do with age or getting older. Its how you feel that matters.
XOXO
