No need to remove anything or disconnect the battery. Putting it on jack stands to have access from the bottom helps though when putting the new one on. And a couple of clips to hold the belt in place helps if you're alone.
You do not need to remove the engine mount to do this job. I did everything from underneath. The whole job start to finish took 30 minutes (included cleanup). 19mm box end wrench with a 18" of 1 1/2 ABS pipe for the leverage works. No special tools needed.
Did you use a lift or jack? I may do this soon.
@@bpong151 I used a jack with jack stand under the control arm for safety.
@@joemechanic2751 thanks! Yeah I think there should be easier way to do this.
Yea I do these all the time just go behind the mount plenty of room to remove tension
ABS pipe?..
You can use threadlock glue instead of replacing the bolts.
What's a great vid mate! Well done
Very well-done video!
@erikboisen5675 - Thanks!
Thank you buddy for doing this video. What was the condition of belt and mileage of car plz.
@mohammadtz337 - 135,600 miles (218227 Km), the belt has acceptable minor cracks on the inner ribbed surface, the outer surface is still good but I did changed it anyway.
IT is required to have access to the bottom pulley's, there isn't ANY room for your arm/hands to put the belt over the main crank or A/C pulley's, and even a long prybar can't be used as the A/C lines get in the way. Trust me, I just did it the very hard way, until I finally pulled the side access/wheel well panel. I loosened the tensioner from the top with a open end wrench (bad idea) you really need a flat 19mm socket tool, as when I reinstalled the belt and applied tension, the 19mm stud of the tensioner sheered off on the outer half (it is HALLOW) Thankfully I slid it in and was able to get enough bite on what was left. POS design though of the tensioner bolt to do that.
What is flat socket tool?
Nice video, butt if you have the ability to make a DIY tool, why not make one similar to a hockey stick so you don't have to remove the passenger side engine mount? KW
🙌🏼
THAT IS THE WORST CAR i EVER HAD TO CHANGE THAT SHITTY SERPENTINE BELT! 😡
