    I am surprised that this is 11 years old, or that "Caesars Messiah" by Joseph Atwill is 19 years old I only found this (the evidence that the Gospels were written by the Roman court) over the past couple years after becoming interested in ancient history. I left Christianity about 20 years ago during Zeitgeist. Being a veteran of Desert Storm. I was appalled in 2003 as we invaded Iraq, and realized that we were lied into that war. I also realized that I did not understand much about the relationship between Jews, Christians, and Muslims and that I needed to research to get to the bottom of the wars in the Middle East. As I did, I left the Republican party and the Christian church.
    The religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are hopelessly pitted against each other over the city of Jerusalem, and their hatred is codified in their scriptures. The only way to solve this equation as we move forward is to deconstruct these books and get to the truth of them, and the political pressures at play as they were created. There is so much to study and learn, especially the historical context of the many converging empires overlapping the Levant. It may take some time for this information to reach the public at large, but thanks to You Tube and the internet, many are learning.
    Thank you for this presentation. Well done and level headed.

      @@luizlmarins Who wrote the gospels? They are so expertly written and so in tune with the OT that we can tell that they were of a high educational level. Who has the resources to write like this?
      When you examine the Nag Hammadi cache you see some of the texts that were discarded as the Romans canonized the bible, and you can tell that people were just making this stuff up as they go along. For example, some of the stories of the childhood Jesus are ridiculous.
      When the Romans sacked Jerusalem, they brought back all the gold and built a coliseum. They brought the temple ornaments and put them on public display. They took the Torah and kept it under lock and key. They brought back up to a thousand clerics as slaves, and put them to work as copyists. They used to have to copy state propaganda by hand.
      Many of the first saints buried as Christians in the catacombs of Rome were relatives of the Flavians. It appears that there were many in the Flavian cult with the knowhow, background, and expertise to produce such works. Their mission was to end the Jewish revolt and dash their hopes of a messiah yet to come. So they wrote the story of Jesus, a common man who prophesied their demise.
      The historical record is hard to find because the Romans scoured everything else.

      The Romans forced the belief in Jesus for a long time. Many found it easier to ignore rather than contest and be executed. imho.

    • @Scott_works
      @Scott_works 4 месяца назад

      @@luizlmarins There were many Jews in Rome, and not all of the Jews were messianic and at war with Rome. Some were Hellenized, others were Romanized. The Jews fought against the Greeks and Romans under the Maccabees. The Herod's worked their way into power and were in league with the Romans. The Flavians, Herod's, and Alexanders were three very, very wealthy tax collecting families who essentially controlled the empire. They paid the wages of the armies. They were interconnected by a spider web of marriages, and had total control over the state sponsored propaganda. They put Vespasian in power as Emperor because he was a modest man, and a General that the military loved. He had just returned from England, where he had decimated the Druids and "erased" their entire culture. Nero wanted him to do that to the Jews.
      One could say "God wrote the Bible", assuming to mean that it was written by God through many men. It is likely the Gospels were written be Jewish men and scribes, in the Roman court. The first saints of Christianity are buried in the catacombs of Rome and are honored as such. They are Flavians.
      After the Romans sacked Israel and raised the temple, they brought the gold back to Rome and built the coliseum. They displayed the ornaments in public. They brought back the Torah and kept it under lock and key. They brought back nearly a thousand Jewish scribes, enslaved and put to work in the Roman court. At the time, few people could read and write, and documents were copied, painstakingly, by hand. After Israel was decimated, there were no more priests or temple. They lost the Torah too. Whomever wrote the Gospels had access to the Jewish scripture, knew it well, and used it to craft the books. Those in the Roman court had access to it.
      The Romans were at war with the Jews, and messianic Christians. After Israel was gone and the temple gone, things changed under the Flavians. Now they just needed a story to explain why the people should obey Caesar, and pay taxes. They needed to explain why Israel was destroyed due to the fact that they rejected Jesus. Jesus promised his disciples he would return before their generation was over, in roughly 40 years. He returned as Titus Flavian, the Son of Man, and brought judgement with him. Josephus explains why Titus was the Son of Man that Jesus prophesied, and that Vespasian was the Messiah, chosen by God to become Caesar.
      I was skeptical at first, but the more I read ancient history, and become familiar with Greco-Roman culture, the more sense it makes.

    • @HeroQuestFans
      @HeroQuestFans 5 лет назад +4

      the problem with so many of these atheist activists is that they rarely seem to possess the learning and character to go with the mouth. instead, we get zealots with very little expertise in the things they are yelling about, and even don't abide by the standards they claim to believe (a fine thing if they're going to claim superiority). merely lacking a belief in "gods" doesn't grant you any special intelligence, knowledge or moral high ground. likewise, having expertise in ONE area doesn't magically grant you expertise in all other areas, so be extra careful when speaking outside your area of expertise.

    • @HeroQuestFans
      @HeroQuestFans 4 года назад

      @Scott Mcmillan there is an infinite difference between "gods" (alleged beings within the universe that are super-humans responsible for some aspect of nature) and "GOD" (the idea of ultimate, uncaused cause, the grounding of all being) as envisoned by the Jewish, Christian (and even "pagan") philosophies. science and "religion" are not in conflict, in this sense at all, but work hand in hand. it is only the fundamentalists who try to boil everything down to some kind of superstitious fear of "gods" and intolerance of other dissent that create this conflict (and most fundy atheists get their history completely wrong... and they don't know why historians have abandoned the "conflict thesis"). historyforatheists.com

    • @HeroQuestFans
      @HeroQuestFans 4 года назад +1

      @Scott Mcmillan the thing is that most Christians are perfectly okay with mainstream science... the big bang theory was first proposed by a Catholic priest in good standing (and he even counseled the Pope to not put any religious stamp of approval upon it but to let the science just be science). evolution is also not an issue, unless you make it into one, by forcing an (anachronistic) wooden literalness to certain parts of the bible. nowhere does the bible state the age of the earth or even guess at it, that is all outdated (and rather speculative) work by some people many centuries after it was written down and it is not dogma to most practicing Christians today. it's the few loud fundamentalists that get projected as speaking for all of us... by the ignorant fundy atheists who often grew up in those denominations that are the problem (in short, it's ignorance and intolerance based upon that ignorance that is at issue, not "religion"). historyforatheists.com

    • @HeroQuestFans
      @HeroQuestFans 4 года назад

      @Scott Mcmillan you're trolling. dinosaurs weren't real? you're just pulling my leg now... good try. its true that many people do accept mainstream science "on blind faith" but then there are plenty who actually research it and find it the most plausible conclusion based on the available evidence. nobody is an expert in everything, but it seems less likely that there would be a vast conspiracy to suppress the truth among the world's experts (across rival nations even?). there is a plausible explanation for the dissenters... they all have something to gain from their dissent, right? so it's easier to believe they are lying than the mainstream for all that time. Darwin wasn't some kind of mad genius, he built on the ideas of others and others have built upon his ideas... science isn't based on some kind of blanket assumption that he was right about everything. new discoveries have modified his theories just like it has modified those of other scientists from newton to einstein. theories always get modified with new information or else they eventually are so broken that a better theory replaces it. we can't predict what we will know 1,000 years from now, so it would be pointless to assume we must be wrong (the dissenters assume they are right with their "alternative" theories like creationism, don't they?). Go ahead and test the alternative hypotheses and see how they measure up...

Let me guess, you also believe that the Caesars and the Pharoahs and the emperors of asia were also mythological because they were reputed to be divine and miraculous (as their followers said in their lifetimes and shortly thereafter). just because you don't believe a claim ABOUT a person doesn't make that person a fiction or a hoax. and no, just because you believe one person's miracle doesn't mean you have to believe in them all. who says they all have equal evidence?

      The Strongest outside,bible evidence jesus,and his,power Is Jewish rabbinic tradition and thier polemics, doesn't deny Jesus's existence or supernatural ability, it's counter narrative to the gospel stories, Peter Schafer, a professor or Jewish literature at Princeton uni who examined the Talmud wrote 2 books ,jesus in the Talmud, and Toledot yeshu revision , which is a more comprehensive, over 300 pages about Jesus and his life , none of which denied his jesus power , so he had power but Jewish rabbis said he stole the secret name of God and used it for his own power, and nothing is denied in these documents, not even raising people from the dead, but they said ,he was a heretic and a Sorcerer ..
      You can't get a more objective view then his enemies

      Respectfully, i would like to clarify evidence isnt PROOF, theres direct or indirect evidence only, ie its information that leads to a probable cause, thats why in a court room your are guilty or not guilty based on beyond reasonable doubt ...
      And courts except circumstantial evidence which is evidence of eye witnesses to psychologists to draw conclusions.
      Whether God exists or spirits or the transcendental or is Jesus divine isn't an intellectual argument of scripture, you can argue back and forth evolution vs creation etc, but peoples personal experiences especially when their is no motive is more of a challenge .
      It's the manifestation of his claims

      Mathew 11.28 -30 Jesus says-
      Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. ..
      and Mathew 18.20
      For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
      So both these claims are divine claims , as he is saying in the first verse, come to me I'll give you rest, so for jesus to be able to do this he has to omniscient and omnipresent, same goes with the second verse , so do we have any evidence of this manifesting?
      Well look up the following testimonials on you tube .
      Where they have a personal encounter with jesus ,directly or indirectly, that did not previously believe in him ,so what's,the motive here ?
      You can argue they all delusional sure,
      but there are hundreds, that's evidence not PROOF , at least I've shown people are having these experiences
      Then look up yourself how many near death experiences people have had, Garry habermas has recorded heaps of testimonies, now again it isn't PROOF but the more independent information you hear, you can decide for yourself if it's plausible, that theres something more than just what we can perceive imperically.
      Now to be fair to you,you can can research and find testimonies of people who have died and saw nothing, so you would have to listen to both sides and draw your own conclusions.
      Further more there's other paranormal phenomenon, that people have attested to , now again, it isn't PROOF, but it's information that's can lead to a most probable or less probable conclusion.
      There's heaps of testimonies that people have made to do with demonic or evil spirits, so I'll,draw your attention to people like John Ramirez who goes into great detail, how how was a Satanist, and would command different spirits to do his work for him , from putting on spells to people selling their souls etc, heaps,of x witches also if you do your research
      You can again argue, it's all rubbish but listen to Bob Dylan ,in an interview ( look up b Dylan sold his soul )where he says he made a bargain with the chief commander in the world we can't see,( is he being poetic? )What a strange thing to say.....?
      (I've attached it below)
      And there's tons of testimonies of musicians selling their souls, and now consider jesus would often exorcise demons in the gospels, so what you'll find the more information you have the plausibly becomes greeter and greater, now you as atheist need to bring to the table information to show all this is just a mere coincidence and state your case equally, so don't assume that people base their beliefs on zero information...
      And if you really want to know you could simply ask God to give you a clear sign of his existence, that's not difficult ..
      Some topics ive researched
      Atheist to christian.
      X witches to jesus
      Jews for jesus
      Homosexality to jesus
      Muslim to Christianity

      God Bless you. I was raised Lutheran, and became a practicing Christian for twenty years as an adult. I went to church 3 times a week some years. I read the entire bible, went to church, and kept an exhaustive prayer journal. I played on worship teams, led a worship team, and wrote Gospel music. Still, if felt out of touch with society. It eventually came to a head, after trying to fit in at various different denominations. At times I was asked to "find another church" after asking too many questions. Some churches I rejected because they just seemed looney-tunes. I left Christianity and the Republican party twenty years ago. Now i have been studying ancient world history for 5 years. I have also studied the Toa, Buddhism, and Hinduism, becoming a certified yoga instructor. I have also been studying the origins of the Abrahamic religions during these years. I am a Marine veteran of Desert Storm, and needed to resolve my PTSD. I did not know anything about the issues between Jews, Christians and Muslims. They don't teach it in church. I also did not know that there were two Christian empires that lasted 1,000 years already - the Holy Roman and the Byzantine. They don't teach the history of Christendom in church. Probably too embarrassing.
      Keep your faith, and believe that God will answer your questions. But continue to research scholars and these findings. Look for what is really true. Look outside the Christian community because you already know what you'll find there. Remember - Rome created Christianity to consolidate all the pagan religions of the empire. They built a religion they could control. Just as some of the buildings and roads they built survive to this day, so does this religion.
      I met a man once who was sitting on the concrete outside a laundry mat. It was in 29 Palms, a desert town in the Mojave. He was dirty, sun baked, and worn. He said he had been out in the desert for a month. I asked him how he was, and gave him some money to get something to eat. trying to be a good Christian, I asked him if he knew Jesus. He laughed, and said "I am Jesus!". I nodded, and asked him if he had been to any of the churches in town (maybe for help). He laughed again. Then I laughed too. "Ok. You're right."

    What's also interesting about the rise of Christianity is that there was a huge volcanic eruption in 536 AD which blocked out the sun for 18 months, thus literally ushering in the Dark Ages. That incident, along with the collapse of Rome, and rise of Islam as a retort to Christianity, certainly set a new course for history.

      In fact, evidence for the non-existence of anything that do not exist is impossible (except maybe when the "non-existing" thing is a self-contradictory concept). However, in the case of "extraordinary" claims, the total absence of evidence is normally considered sufficient to reject such claim, until presented with some equally "extraordinary" evidence.
      So unless somebody comes up with some very good objective evidence for the actual existence of some guy doing miracles and described as the son of god in ancient Bronze Age book, the logical position to adopt should be to dismiss the claim until some pretty dam good evidence is presented.

    After 2 decades of intensive study (from the mid '70s to '90s - avoiding current theological ideas and writings) of the beginnings of the religion (which included Ancient Church History at PLU) I came to the conclusion that Christianity started with a Gnostic Jesus, as taught by the Neoplatonic-Jewish groups in Alexandria (like Philo) - I happily lost my religion. I'm embarrassed that it took me 2 decades. Perhaps if I'd had access to the Internet it would've been quicker.

      @Rand Huso. I'm sorry that you wasted two decades. Neoplatonism and Gnosticism are not synonymous. the Gnostic writings (and the Gnostic religion itself) are post-Pauline. the ideas of Gnosticism are more at home in Greco-Roman paganism than in Judaism, but we know Jesus and Paul were Jews, who had far more in common with the Pharisees or the Essenes (sects of Jews) than any mystery sect of pagans. yes, some later Christians would attempt to blend various philosophies with what they knew, but at the beginning, you don't have that. Philo never mentions Jesus (and he was certainly not a Gnostic before such a belief system even existed). what matters my friend is not the quantity of study, but the quality. the internet is helpful for finding facts, but also in finding nonsense. Jesus was a real human being, he wasn't married (to Mary Magdalena or anybody else), he wasn't a Roman Emperor, he wasn't a pagan astrological symbol, he wasn't a magic mushroom or a space alien. the Gnostics believed he had no physical body and the earth was created by an evil delusional demiurge (and the real God was unknown until then). it was an elitest, anti-semitic, mysoginist, anti-sex mystery cult. now maybe you have sympathy for them, but they never knew the historical Jesus and they certainly didn't invent him. if you say the Gnostics had it first, you might as well argue the Mormons had it first, or maybe the Raelians had it first. lol. no seriously, I'm sorry you wasted two decades and came to this embarrassing false conclusion. listen, every conspiracy theorist will tell you they portion of their life they spent studying this stuff. any actual scholar in the field spent more time. it's sad and I pity the time you wasted. perhaps you could have spent that time in real study and learned something besides this nonsense.

    • @HeroQuestFans
      @HeroQuestFans 7 лет назад +2

      @Rand Huso. anyone who thinks the Gnostic religion was first doesn't know the first thing about history. Gnosticism is anti-Jewish, so it can't be the original religion of Jesus or his followers (who extensively quote the Jewish Old Testament and "apocrypha"). all gnostic writings are satirical responses or extensions of existing Christian works from the NT and come later, so how can they be the originals? it's like saying the Mormon church was the original Protestantism.

      @Rand Huso. "avoiding current ideas and writings"? there's your problem right there. you need to read current scholarship, not just stuff from the old days. these fields have progressed since the 19th century you know... heck, a bunch of stuff was discovered in the last 60 years that is even now being researched and published. I'll say it again, you wasted your time limiting yourself to what you thought was safe and would confirm your biases. even the translations of the ancient texts are more accurate to the originals now than in the 1950's or 60's or 70's (or 90's). if you learn the ancient languages you can read the best copies we have today from critical editions. you wasted your time, it's no wonder you ended up a conspiracy theorist. sorry. maybe in the last 3 years you've opened your mind, we can only hope! other atheist scholars studied this material more in depth and longer than you did and come to the conclusion that Jesus was a historical figure.

    Jacob Strange...
    _"Historians that wrote about Jesus: Josephus, Tacitus, The Jewish Talmud, Mara Bar Sarapian, and Lucian. All of these books tell the history part of Jesus. They say he had many followers, was crucified and his tomb was empty. They are taken from a secular perspective."_
    Actually, none of the people you mention here were alive when Jesus allegedly lived. They are all transmitting hearsay. In all cases, except Josephus and Tacitus, they're too late to have anything interesting to say from a historical perspective, because they'll just be quoting the gospels essentially.
    It's also possible that Josephus and Tacitus do this, but their works arrive around the turn of the first century and could in theory have some useful information. It's just that: a) Josephus is acknowledged by pretty much everyone to be a later forgery by Christians - probably Eusebius. There's only debate about how significant the forgery is - whether it's a complete forgery or partial. I think it's a complete forgery due to the content just falling apart when one removes everything that presupposes belief in Christianity.
    b) Tacitus lists no source for his claims, but the text suggests that his information comes indirectly from Christians tortured during the fire of Rome. This means that he is quoting the gospels by proxy and is not an independent source.
    _"Josephus worked for the Romans and just wrote down what he witnessed."_
    No, he didn't. He can't have witnessed anything when he wasn't alive.
    _"Even with these multiple historians people still choose to deny Jesus because they don't want to accept the fact that there is indeed a God."_
    No, we deny those sources because they are worthless as historical evidence.
    _"Alexander the Great on the other hand only had two historians write about him and it was hundreds of years later."_
    Actually, no. Those would be the surviving accounts, but they references earlier works by other historians that they're based on. This doesn't matter however, because there is archaeological evidence of Alexander including inscriptions documenting his presence, evidence of wars fought under him and in general there are lots of historical developments that hinge on most of his exploits having happened. However, his histories claim he was divine, and this is of course disregarded as nonsense. Had there been no corroborating evidence, he would probably have been dismissed as a legend.
    _"So if you are willing to deny Jesus, why believe anything."_
    Well, you believe claims for which there is good evidence and there just isn't for magic Jesus. When you combine this with the fact that the earliest writings, the epistles, seem to talk about a celestial being called Jesus, the game is over for a historical claim.
    _"Look it up."_
    I did. I think what you did was read Christian apologetics.
    _"Don't just watch a video where some guy says he doesn't believe Jesus because he doesn't buy other religions. Look at the facts."_
    Again, I did. I'm not the one quoting texts from far into the 2nd century as credible evidence that some Jew was executed 100s of miles away more than 100 years earlier - clearly such sources can't be evidence of anything beyond what Christians believed in the middle of the 2nd century(Which is long after the gospels had historicized Jesus). Let alone the claims that he was magic in addition to that.
    _"If you don't come out with the conclusion that Jesus is who he is you are lying to yourself to prove your presumption that there is no God."_
    Again, you are the one making ridiculous leaps of logic here. it seems to me that your best argument is that "Because people believe that Alexander the Great existed due to shit evidence, we should also believe Jesus did", but you know what? If the evidence for Alexander was as bad as it was for Jesus, the correct approach - if you give a shit about whether you believe true or false things - would be to reject his existence.
    _"People will do whatever they can to deny there creator because they can't accept the fact that someone has power over them"_
    This has nothing to do with any creator, but with absolutely pathetic evidence for Christianity's claims.

      inscriptions documenting his presence, evidence of wars fought under him
      and in general there are lots of historical developments that hinge on
      most of his exploits having happened"
      What inscriptions? Im aware of ONE inscription from the time of alexander and it does not have the name Alexander in it . It just mentions that a king came to that part and won a battle at that time.
      what other contemporaneous writings can you refer to?
      And you already admitted that any histories of Alexander are second hand references from centuries later and the original to which they refer is lost.
      How about Socrates or the Battle of Actium. Any primary eye witness contempooraneous accounts? I mean you have alexander the Ruler of the entire world, Socrates the father of Western Philosophical Thought , Actium a Battle between cleopatra and Octavian featuring Marcus Agrippa and Marc antony and you can't provide ONE person who was there mentioning them? Opposed to these famous people you have a carpenters son who has more writings about him from diverse sources by people who lived when he did or who met the people who lived when he did and saw Jesus themselves or knew Jesus personally. surely the dearth of evidence of Alexander Socrates or Actium would convince you the level of evidence on Jesus is quite high given his unfamous status?

      @Gnomefro. Nobody thinks the Toledoth Yeshu is accurate to some early Christian group's beliefs except Robert Price (apparently). of course people write about things after the fact... what, do you think history is just the study of a stack of Diaries and autobiographies? it doesn't work like that. the NT works are the earliest about Jesus and they reference earlier traditions about Jesus (which depict him as a human being on earth given divine attributes) using the handwaving and speculative tactics of Mythers, we can ignore any figure of antiquity. what makes you think an inscription proves anything? there are temples and carvings and chronicles dedicated to legendary figures like King Arthur and Robin Hood, and mythological gods like Zeus and Athena. I don't buy the Myther position but I'm just saying. it's all ad hoc and sophistry. if you're so smart, why don't you convince the world's scholars that they're wrong. I'm sure they'll listen to such an eloquent genius as yourself. why don't you start by debating Bart Ehrman. but first, to get some pointers, watch his debate with Robert Price here on youtube. you're a better debater and scholar than Dr. Bob Price, right? Just because Jesus talks about agriculture (there were no industrial factories in 30 CE) doesn't mean this was some kind of "clue" it was an "agrarian myth" he was in. he also talks a lot about fishing (quick, make up a theory about how it was a fish god myth), and he even talks about architecture, accounting, government, and other things in his parables too. people cherry pick one thing and fixate on that to create their vast conspiracy. it's silly...

    He said, “people tell me about God that exists but I can't see Him.

    A blind man struggled and managed to get to the soap-box to share his view too.
    He said, “people tell me that there is green grass all around, but I can't see it.
    People tell me that there is blue sky above, but I can't see it.
    People tell me there are trees nearby, but I can't see it. You see, I'm blind.

    God created you and everything around you came into existence by the grace of God. Man sinned and the unity with God was broken. God gave us laws. (Torah) for us to follow and have a relationship with him. However we were unable to follow his commandments. God became flesh and lived among us, his name is Jesus Christ (God in the flesh). Christ never sinned, fulfilled his own law and was punished and died in a cross for our sins., so that when we die we can be with him for eternity. He teaches us to love God with all of your heart soul and mind and to love thy neighbor as ourselves, even those who hurt us. Do not be deceive by this video. What you have just read is truth.

      the kingdom of God is within you...the temple of God is within...the human brain is the temple of God...the white horse is the hippocampus of the brain... Corticle hem is the hem of the garment...when we go inside to seek that higher self, the "apocalypse" takes place within and the "revelation" or revealing of "Jesus" takes place. It's not literal. It's scientific. Metaphorical in every way. More and more true spiritual seeking Christians are waking up to the lies they bought.

      Buddhism is precisely "You seek your higher self within". In contrast to the mythical carpenter's son Siddhartha was a historical person (because he was born a prince there is a record of his existence 500 years B.C.) who achieved enlightenment regarding the human condition. He was not a deity who demanded worship; rather a venerable person worthy of gratitude for revealing great truth to humanity. The lay folks you see prostrating in the temples are still under the influence of the material world. The meditating monks are contemplating escaping the tethers of that condition. Enlightened ones are already there.

    So far, the record of a historian of the time has not been presented stating that the Romans, the Flavian Emperors, would have ordered the writing of the Gospels...

    • @Scott_works
      @Scott_works 4 месяца назад

      The Flavians, Herod's, and Alexanders were like oligarchs. They controlled the empire, paid the wages of the armies, and controlled the state propaganda. A low percentage of the empire could read or write at that time, and the Roman court had a massive college of clerics that copied the texts. They had the resources, especially after sacking Jerusalem, to write the Gospels.
      They looted Jerusalem, and brought back the gold to build a coliseum. They put the temple ornaments on public display. They brought the Torah back and kept it under lock and key. For some time, the Jews were without their scriptures - everything was destroyed. They brought up to 1,000 scribes back as slave to work copying manuscripts and producing the state propaganda.
      Many in the Flavian court were Jewish, though Roman Jews. It was the Messianic Jews who were at war with Rome. There were plenty of Jews who were not militarized. They were Hellenized and Romanized. The Flavian court was tied to the Herod's and Alexanders by a web of intermarriages. They worked together to ensure their power and control of the empire, and the army.
      They created the perfect Jesus, one who instructed them to obey the law of the land and respect their government (Rome). He promised to be there at the end of the world, or the end of their lives, to take them to heaven. They formed the Bible, and destroyed everything else, consolidating all the pagan religions into Christendom. Two empires that lasted a thousand years each - Holy Roman and Byzantine.

      Lies
      His crucifixion was recorded in thd Jewish Talmud his enemies??
      The Tractate Sanhedrin (43a) contains this passage:
      Jesus was hanged on Passover Eve. Forty days previously the herald had cried, “He is being led out for stoning, because he has practiced sorcery and led Israel astray and enticed them into apostasy. Whosoever has anything to say in his defense, let him come and declare it.” As nothing was brought forward in his defense, he was hanged on Passover Eve
      Also this you can't get past ...
      I'll attach a clip of a rabbi Eliezer diamond explain it in detail

    Timothy: The truth of God is not myth. You will experience this as you walk the spiritual journey which is your life ( and so will every one of us). Sooner or later the Light will shine on you, for Scripture says that He is the light that shines on every human that comes into the world (John 1:9). At that point, you will decide to believe or not, according to the gift of free choice given to us from the Lord Himself. God bless you and give you faith to make the right decision then.

I hope you're not a librarian, because you'll be misfiling books you don't agree with in the "fairy tales" and "superstitions" sections (I know there isn't a "superstitions" section, so replace that with "fiction" to still sound edgy). philosophy isn't superstition, you goof. educating people would entail showing them that most scholarly experts (even non-believers) don't buy into this conspiracy crap you're supporting and false equivalence between disparate religious systems.

      Myths were once real - the old gods were real people once and then become stories and legends over eons of time. Jesus was a real man imbued by the spirit of 'God', but with all this negativity he will one day become a myth, which is a bit sad. Then will become another great leader imbued with great spiritual teachings for the benefit of mankind - it is only mankind over the centuries who dismiss the old stories as myths. We are poor humans who behave badly and don't follow the rules of spiritual disciplin and so we suffer.

    • @HeroQuestFans
      @HeroQuestFans 6 лет назад +1

      @Sandra Stoddard. "Myths were once real - the old gods were real people once and then become stories and legends over eons of time."
      That might be true, but we have no evidence for it. Most of these 'myths' have no precedent and we can't trace them to real historical figures. Jesus, we can (I say that because I'm assuming you view the miracle stories are fake or hoaxes and deny that he was the divine Son of God who resurrected). but setting aside the supernatural theological claims ABOUT Jesus that his disciples believed and reported (which didn't "evolve over eons of time" they were written within decades of his life, within living memory of his first followers), we can still see the historical man that no rational atheist can object existed. Certainly we can't say someone didn't exist because we don't like their IDEAS or how they were USED by later followers. so then Hitler and Marx didn't exist, right?
      I'm glad you agree Jesus was a real person. But there is a difference between using a story we know is a "myth" (not literal history but imdued with meaning) to gain some wisdom, and doing bad history.
      People don't "become myths" they remain people. We can separate "myths" from the real persons and look at factual data that can be verified even if we don't believe in supernatural claims. We have a pretty good idea of the teachings of Jesus. People will debate about them and their interpretation for ever, that's okay. I agree, we shoot ourselves in the foot, but anyway, I'm glad you're at least not a myther like these conspiracy theorists.

    • @sandrastoddard9632
      @sandrastoddard9632 6 лет назад +1

      There are no supernatural claims about Jesus. He was born on earth as a human within the ancient schools of the Essenes - a more esoteric mystic religion than the Sadducees and Pharisees of the Jewish peoples. They had knowledge of his coming and prepared for his birth - in his previous incarnation he had been the great teacher Zoroaster (Zarathustra) of the Persian people, the Kings who visited his birth were from the ancient Magi (astrologers) of Persia and had seen his coming in the stars which is why they came to worship and greet him. The Essenes schooled Jesus and many others from the families within that society and when he was 14 he went to the Temples of Initiation in Egypt to learn and practice the initiations of knowledge of the spiritual worlds, how to overcome the physical body in death, and other aspects of the ancient knowledge. After travelling he came back to his country and gathered his disciples. At the age of 30 he went to be baptised by John and during the baptism in the Jordan the spirit of the Christ (sent down by God if you like) entered into him whereby he could teach, heal, work miracles out of the power of the Christ which worked through him for three years. The power of the spirit of Christ can only be carried by the human body for a maximum of three years so then he had to stop. The crucifixion was arranged by the Essenes so that the Christ could leave his body and his own personality return. He was not actually dead when taken down but was in a form of coma which he had created out of his initiation knowledge. The Essenes took him away. The most important aspect of his work was the teachings of love between mankind and showing the work of 'God' - the Jewish people of the Old Testament looked upon their God as a fierce Father figure who did not teach through love. Christ came to change that as slowly mankind became more free from old dogma. I know the miracles etc. were real - not at all hoaxes - Jesus is certainly not a myth but is likely to be in another thousand years or so as mankind forgets truths. As I said, ancient myths (stories) were real in their time as people of those times were led by great spirits of the particular epoch of time. As history was only passed down through stories and not written in ancient times the true stories became mythology. There are always truths in stories - the great flooding of Atlantis was real and many cultures still have stories of the ancient floods which people scarcely believe any more. One can read much more of these times in the books by Zechiaria Sitchin who studied deep into the archaeology of Sumer and Babylonia. Read and study deeply before wiping truths away just to get notoriety like Richard Dawkins. My knowledge is partly through the writings of Rudolf Steiner and also a spirit teacher - through a channeled medium - with whom I study.

      I explain to those who claim Atheism, forget religion and let's deal with life and existence. The most complex living organism is 'MAN', which mean "to think" or "the thinker". Let's think for one's own self. Anything that serve a useful purpose is a dependable indicator of an intelligent mind who made it. Does not the chair you sit on, the bed you sleep on and the car you drive all indicate the sign of a living intelligence who made it? Indeed, it does. The human body has over 350 billion cells that work in harmony for the good of the body and is the most complex thing known in the universe; and that is a quite dependable indicator that there is a supreme intelligence and higher power who created it. Something of intelligence can only come from something with intelligence, just as nothing from nothing leaves nothing. It is here that the Atheist actually does demonstrate a belief in evolution, because it cannot be proven scientifically that there is no supreme intelligence or higher power. Darwin's theory of evolution of one spices "Apes" or "Monkeys" evolving into a completely different species called 'MAN' is not a proven law or fact, and miss the mark of true science and real evolution. Any evolving of species happens only within the same species and that's as far as "Evolution" goes. However, "Darwin's Theory of Evolution' has a missing link. Thus, one has to have a belief in Darwin; and hope one day the missing link would be found. Thus, one is left with Darwin's flawed Theory of Evolution. My mind is my government and the living book of creation is the Teacher and the way to one's Creator is not in the sky, but in one's heart and mind.

    Christianity was spread, early on, by martyrs. People who refused to keep their mouths shut - at the cost of their lives, in the most horrific of ways. Every one of the apostles died horribly, not because of "myth" but because they were eye-witnesses of the truth.
    Jesus is the most researched, well documented man who ever lived. RESEARCHABLE, verifiable fact. WHO Jesus was... remains the question. Jesus never quite answered that question Himself, he left it up to each of us to answer. What He did do was point to PROPHECY - which no skeptic has ever been able to explain away. Any great apologist would rip this man a new ass and prove him a fool.

      +Chuck Brown I am sorry, but the Bible contains no scientific data about the size of the Earth, the Moon, the speed of light, etc. In fact, the Bible is full of errors about the genesis of the world, the floods, etc. There isn't a single word in the Bible about the ADN molecule, nor protons, neutrons, electrons, or sub-particules such as quarks. It is normal since the biblical texts were written 3000 years before the invention of the scientific method.

    • @HeroQuestFans
      @HeroQuestFans 6 лет назад

      @Marc Dupperron. not only is "Genesis" not a scientific account of the creation of the world, it is deliberate poetry, allegory, and myth (yes, I said "myth") it doesn't even TRY to present a literalistic history, which is why, obviously, there are two different creation stories presented side by side. The Bible wouldn't mention terminology and classification systems invented centuries later, obviously, as you said. the scientific method rests upon philosophy. people don't seem to realize what the bible even is. this is like objecting that it doesn't mention ipads and harry potter. were there cataclysmic floods in the ancient world? you tell me, plenty of cultures have traumatic flood stories, what matters is the myth, the meaning these writers derived from the ancient memory of such events. anyway, yeah, fundies are dumb, and stuff...

    "The most famous man who ever lived - didn't." That statement flunks every logic test imaginable. It's absurd on its face to assert that a purely mythical character could have the widespread and enduring influence on the world that Jesus has. We reckon time by his life, for God's sake.
    And what's additionally telling is the fact that the people who evidence this gigantic, and unreasonable, skepticism regarding the existence of Jesus never even raise the question regarding Buddha, Lao-Tzu, or any other prominent religious figure.

      @@geraldamos292 One, that's not true, there are writers outside the Bible who mentioned Jesus. Two, you're overlooking the fact that the four biographical accounts of Jesus' life - the gospels - were "outside the Bible" when written, and for a couple of hundred years after that, until the Catholic Church designated the canon of scripture for the New Testament, so your assertion fails right there. Three, I'm going to take a wild guess that you've never expressed such skepticism about the existence of, say, Gautama Buddha, or the founder of any other major religion - so one can't help but wonder what your motivation is for so singling out Jesus for your disbelief.
      Again, one can argue specifics about Jesus all day long, but it's just nonsensical to try to assert that he didn't exist.

    The Roman emperors has written a complete fairy tale for a pagan religion called Christianity. It was so well done to match the Old Testament. Before publishing the Bible, Rome has also carefully removed the name of the Most High God, so Christians will never invoking his name. The New Testament is so appealing to people, because it gives them freedom to do whatever pleasing them. The reason religions work is because at the core there is a small piece of truth which everything is built upon (the bullshit).
    In Christianity it is to treat your fellow man with respect and obey rules. In Buddhism it is to not be selfish and to be one with everything because everything is connected.

      พีระพล วงศ์ทอง Talking about "real Buddhism from Nepal" is just laughable as the textual traditions of Buddhism are several and none of them originate with Siddhārtha Gautama. You simply can't get to a "real" Buddhism without appealing to magic. At the end of the day, it's an objective truth that there exists branches of Buddhism with and without gods, meaning that theism is not essential to the global phenomenon called Buddhism.
      All you are saying is "There are superstitious people living in Nepal". Great dude, we knew that already. We have them here as well.

      @Leave It In Beaver I see what you mean. Well it says in the Bible that God made the world. That's magical I suppose, so yes I believe in magic. It also says that He lives in Heaven (He has to live somewhere you know), and heaven is supposed to be magical, whatever that really means.
      So why would you not believe in God and heaven but all the while believe (I'm assuming) that humans evolved from pond scum billions of years ago without any reliable, verifiable evidence to prove it at all? That's biologically speaking, ain't no evidence at all. Then there is the time lines. Billions of years. The evidence is so full of holes and errors, it should make you rethink your position. All this complexity with no intelligence behind it? That's magical but it's not real magic because it never happened.
      I think we both believe in magic, and I think you believe in a hypothetical magic that actually isn't real, proposed by Satan himself.

    First there has never been a person named Jesus in Palestine. His name was Yeshua, Jesus is a Greek name. I only believe he existed because his name appeared in two monasteries in India because he studied there. Other than that, there is nothing written about him during his time; there are no first hand eye witnesses to his existence. The first four books of the Bible were written by unknown authors decades after his time.

Josephus lists something like 18 of them, but interestingly, none matching the gospel Jesus. Josephus doesn't mention Christianity which is unthinkable if it started around 30 or 33CE. 40 years is plenty of time to grow a cult to where it's at LEAST known by a guy who was born and LIVED there (Josephus).

    There is not one written eyewitness account of Jesus during his lifetime. Strange since he was famous at birth, because wise men expected to see the future king of Jews who was born from a virgin married mother. Every leading Christian scholar since Erasmus, five hundred years ago, has maintained that the gospels were originally written in Greek from 70 to 140 CE (Mark after the year 70, Luke about 110, Matthew about 130, and John no earlier than 140 CE). This provesthat they were not written by Christ's apostles, disciples or by any of the early Christians.
    Others say: “There is no proof of the Gospels existing before 130 CE”. Jesus is depicted as hugely popular in the gospels. Yet he is unrecorded by non-Biblical historians.
    Paul was the first one to write about Jesus around 60CE; but he, like everyone else, never saw Jesus. He experienced a vision of the resurrected Jesus. All myth! Seek the truth!

      I've read your gospel dates, you are way off, it was believed that AD 45 Matthew came out with an Aramaic gospel just 15 years after the Ascension. If not a full gospel, it may have been a book of sayings by Jesus. However a canonical gospel did come out in Greek by 55 or 50.
      John, one time pastor at Ephesus, could not have released his gospel as late as 130, he was exiled to Patmos by emperor Domitian around AD 95 when he wrote Revelation. John also penned I, II, and III John at the end of the first century. At this time, John is at a very old age. John wrote his gospel, from Ephesus about AD 85.
      If you read 1 Corinthians 15:8, Paul states that he did indeed see the risen Lord. One verse up, verse 7, is James, the half brother of Christ, and auther of the book of James(before AD 49), was also pastor of the Jerusalem church.
      And then there is First and Second Peter(both books written between AD 64-67), written by the one who denied Christ 3 times but became such a strong leader in the early Christian community. Became friends with Paul and Barnabus, Mark, and others. So, there where many who saw Christ, who walked with him before his death on the cross then after his resurrection that wrote books that have become parts that have made up the New Testament.

    This probably won’t be something most viewer will be willing to consider, but this guy is about as reliable on history of Christianity as your neighbor with a drinking problem.
    He is meshing a lot of bad arguments together, and making it his own idea, but it is basically utter nonsense. So he thinks that the Christ “myth” was turned into a historical figure and then into the dark ages. This is an outdated protestant view, which is easily ruined by the fact that the Eastern part of Christianity, which had all of the core thought, and all of the councils was never touched by the western dark ages, so what does he do with no dark ages for the Greeks? Secondly, the idea that protestantism properly examined church history and proved some sort of distortion, and as he claims, he is continuing in this tradition, is nonsense. The protestant reformation had a ton of claims which over time evolved due to many early writings of church fathers proving Catholic practices they claimed to be pagan, such as Bishops in the writings of Ignatius of Antioch in the late first century. The issue with mythicism (which most of what this man is ripping off isn’t, but poorly articulated dead protestant scholarship) is that the controversies surrounding Jesus in the Jewish world such as how Jesus could die and still be God (impassibility) is maintained in their tradition. Tell me, how does it work that a bunch of people make up a fake story, and include a rival group as “enemies” and that group carry that with them right out of that gates? Judaism from the earliest times of Christendom has fostered for itself theology and philosophical views against Jesus...but, if he was a myth, why would they play the game? That is just the tip of the iceberg, and it doesn’t even consider all of the pagan and heretical standpoints which grew out of that, such as gnostics, judiazers, and the Hellenic attempts at incorporating a form of platonic ritualism which mirrored the Christ claims. Geesh, a lot of people who disagreed with Christianity really played the game of agreeing with His existence. I wouldn’t expect anyone here to know this though.

    • @JDines

      It is so easy to prove the Jesus story is a mashup myth it isn't funny. Every aspect of the story has pagan equivalents that predate the myth by centuries.

    I have read three of this gentleman's book and I have found them very elucidating. I am not on my second book by Acharya S and have read others and reviewed a great deal of material regarding spirituality, religion and human cultural and religious tradition and evolution. I have concluded after being a Literalist Christian for a large part of my life and then gradually embracing Gnosticism in various forms that include the Mysteries of the Native Americans, the Buddha, the Pagan Mysteries, I still find great inspiration from the archetypal story of the person we have come to call Jesus even he there is no historical Jesus. If one can pierce through the membrane of literalist brain washing and see the Bible for what is it in spite of its' cobbled together reality and mistranslations - you can still find some really good material to build a spiritual life on. After all my reading and study, I think my faith in a Divine Being is perhaps clearer and even deeper. Th basis of all a good solid spirituality in love and compassion exercised in one's life, the rest, though interesting, is mere commentary. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

      Dano Pierce Just so you will know.
      "In his book Did Jesus Exist?: The Historical Argument for Jesus of Nazareth, New Testament scholar Bart D. Ehrman discusses The Christ Conspiracy, which he calls "the breathless conspirator's dream". Ehrman says "all of Acharya's major points are in fact wrong" and her book "is filled with so many factual errors and outlandish assertions that it is hard to believe the author is serious." Taking her as representative of some other writers about the Christ myth theory, he generalizes that "Mythicists of this ilk should not be surprised that their views are not taken seriously by real scholars, mentioned by experts in the field, or even read by them.""
      "In an article for The Christian Century, Butler University religion professor James F. McGrath describes her viewpoint as one that "once had some currency among scholars" in the 19th and early 20th centuries, but was subsequently abandoned"

    • @wbworkout
      @wbworkout 8 лет назад

      I still keep your information in mind as I read Acharya's books or finish them. I have read many authors and looked at a lot of material some of it as I reflect is flawed but still had a lot of good information. One thing I do not do in my study is take everything I read an absolute truth or final. There is always more and as long as people write books there will be various flaws, discrepancies and outright bloopers of one sort or another. That is how I even read the Bible still, knowing it's history and it's mythos I still find timeless truths. One thing I learned early in life is that the Divine One exists beyond the dogmas and theologies of their world and beyond the many books, which in the end are all conjuncture and commentary. The Dali Lama b puts it simply, his religion is kindness. Still I love studying and learned. When I was a fundamentalist literalists missionary the organization I worked in taught us to study and read. I was to be groomed for leadership at one point in this International Organization which I worked in for years. I studied and questioned too much and eventually left the mission, worked got a few degrees and taught Music to children in Chicago for 21.7 years. I am now retired and in the midst of moving. OMG - I got a lot of books. Save your books, save books, the internet will not be forever. Some much knowledge was and is lost as books are burned, banned destroyed, and thrown out. People think that technology is forever and alway going to be there but I doubt it. Thank you again. Safe journey.

      To deny God you have to first believe in Him. I am not saying that Jesus is god, he is only man a prophet who died as any other man.

    no religion was ever gonna save mankind from his idiotic ways, if that was even one of it's intentions. man is doomed, always was, always will be. our species will die out eventually, alone in the universe, without answers to the questions we sought. we had to invent a purpose to life, even though there really wasn't one. i sleep better knowing there is no point to it all, death frees me from the pain of living eventually, and any amount of pleasure i can find is simply a bonus.

      The devil is a myth too. Read Elaine Pagels book, “The Origins of Satan”. Ms. Pagels is head of religious studies at Princeton. We live in a universe of polarities, good vs evil, hot vs cold, life vs death, etc. The devil motif was a way the ancients tried to explain why bad existed in our world. The truth about all this is much more benign than what is believed and preached in religion. Do your research and try to find the truth no matter where it may lead.

      why would a loving god make a hell of eternal torment for people who literally only go there because they choose to live using the free will he gave them? Many GOOD people go to hell according to your beliefs, and that doesn't seem like a reasonable god at all.

      @Caiaphas The Crucifier -- actually the whole "stop drop and roll" line is something we used to say to kids in Children's Church. A few times we actually had them get on the ground and do it (physical reinforcement) Religion is quite dangerous and I am appalled I was part of the brainwashing.

    Historians that wrote about Jesus: Josephus, Tacitus, The Jewish Talmud, Mara Bar Sarapian, and Lucian. All of these books tell the history part of Jesus. They say he had many followers, was crucified and his tomb was empty. They are taken from a secular perspective. Josephus worked for the Romans and just wrote down what he witnessed. Even with these multiple historians people still choose to deny Jesus because they don't want to accept the fact that there is indeed a God. Alexander the Great on the other hand only had two historians write about him and it was hundreds of years later. So if you are willing to deny Jesus, why believe anything. Look it up. Don't just watch a video where some guy says he doesn't believe Jesus because he doesn't buy other religions. Look at the facts. If you don't come out with the conclusion that Jesus is who he is you are lying to yourself to prove your presumption that there is no God. People will do whatever they can to deny there creator because they can't accept the fact that someone has power over them

      The references to Jesus in Josephus and Tacitus are forged additions, believers have been messing with "historical truth" for centuries (Shroud of Turin, One True Cross etc, all fake.) If the Bible story of Jesus' crucifixion is a true account, how come NO-ONE ANYWHERE ELSE noted that there was darkness all over the Earth?

      No historian wrote about Jesus in his supposed lifetime, only of what they heard after. Even Mark, the first gospel written, came decades after the event.

    Jewish Rabbis of the time spoke ill of Jesus but never claimed he didn't exist. Josephus writes about Jesus and speaks of him being put to death under Pilate during the reign of Tiberius. He also records the death of James brother of Jesus. He lived shortly after Jesus was crucified and met people who were eyewitnesses to the life of Jesus. Tacitus the Roman historian writes about Jesus as well confirming the crucifixion by pilate during the reign of Tiberius. Tacitus was known to make indications in any record he believed he was unsure on. No indication is found in his passages regarding Jesus. Theres no archeological evidence of Jesus directly but you wouldn't expect their to be. Almost %100 of people who lived back in those times didn't leave behind physical evidence..especially peasants which Jesus voluntarily was. There's some evidence they've found asserting Pilates existence which would validate the writing of the same sources which validate Jesus. The chances of Jesus being a complete fabrication is virtually impossible. Too many records from too many sources corroborating too many things.

      @M Rees. Truth does not need evidence, it will defend itself, but good points made. The only argument an atheist has is that Jesus was a liar, just as the Jews claimed. The historical Jesus is recorded.

    Most comments on pro-religious videos are from believers agreeing. Most comments on anti-religious videos are from non-believers agreeing. It's as though people seek to validate what they want and RUclips has enough videos to do it.
