One thing Eminem has done that no other rapper has been able to do (before or after) is completely expose himself and his entire backstory and all the dark negative sh*t he's done or been through into his songs. His discography is literally his autobiography. That's something nobody else can match
A lot of rappers do exactly that, A lot of music is an autobiography. That's a wrong analogy to pin point on Eminem. He does that stuff well and his stories resonate with many backgrounds, Is what I would say to this subject. And this adds to his continued success, But he does a lot of music away from personal life too like many artists do.

congratulations on your latest music, it great and so much in it Knox. I think we have to have a look when people talk about culture of hip-hop because it's changed so much over the years. I personally believe because of Eminem, that's why Hip-hop us the number 1 listened type of music in the world. Anyone can feel comfortable in who they are now in hip-hop, no matter what part of the world they are from. Eminem has had alot to do with that. I'm enjoying the Eminem of today as the technical ability as just amazing to listen to and read the lyrics to his songs. He was always ahead of his time and now he is still ahead of his time. As always professor of bar's Knox hill, this was an enjoyable reaction.
Am I the only one that thought when I heard Royce talkin bout Em breaking down the technicals of lyricism it brought up that line from Games Black Slim Shady bout being in a Rolls Royce tryna be the white Da 5'9? Or whatever that shit was...all I know is Royce loyal as hell and to give props to something as a top tier lyricist is incredible 👏🏼
This is why stans are hated, royce definitely has the ability to out rap em, and when em does a feature, it is someone he respects, an that he knows could be the person to kill him on a track. Look up busta talking about calm down. Saying em cant be beaten, is the same as the fools saying em cant win a vs against busta because bustas stage presents, your being biased and ignoring the other sides ability!
what made em blow is the fact he had 3 distinct personas. like most artists either put it out like it's themselves (when it usually isn't), or they have a persona and try to live that life. Em, had the wacky shit, the big hitter, and the grounded personal personas. and you could hear it in each song. Of course not every one is a hit or even that great but basically he was like 3 people in one. so he could grab 3 times the people.
Love Royce Da 5'9". He has great music, and his loyalty is right up there with 50 Cent. I love 50, Joyner, and Kendrick, Sean, and J Cole (Oddly I was introduced to him through Janet Jackson). Picking up and loving new people here and there like Tom Macdonald, and Knox Hill. I still heavily listen to my OG people. Dre, Snoop, LL, NWA, Redman, Daddy Kane, TuPac, Heavy D, Run DMC, and of course Eminem.
Love these conversations bro like I just dove back into BAD meets Evil, which I had not heard in A WHILE, LIKE YEARS, and man I'm so glad I did.. the 2011-2014 eminem was potentially my absolute FAVE. II was thinking as I was listening about the sound of Eminem and Royce then, and there's a slaughterhouse track on there with all 4 members and the sound of those 4 members compared to now. They were all killing it I mean they still kill it but I truly believe those 5 people slaughterhouse and Bad meets evil push each other's pen. I just wish to God that they could have worked something out for the Glasshouse drop... and the future of hip hop because I feel like in the interim between when they started seperating, we got mumble rap in place of it. lol which sucked!! but like u said those days are behind us too FINALLY!!
Knox Hill the Goat of breakdowns whether its full songs, bars, instrumentals, technicals or an interview 😅. Mind blowing hearing Eminem done for Royce what you do for us everyday 👌🔥
"People can't walk and chew bubble gum" That reminds me of his frustrated I've gotten in the past when people would judge Em based on his radio singles and comedy tracks. Meanwhile I would be bumping his features and mixtapes and that's where the magic was.
I ain't gonna lie, I can't think of not 1 Big Sean song outside of Control and something he was on like Detroit vs. Everybody. He's not horrible, but I don't particularly care for his rap style or voice. I'm also 44-years-old so Big Sean isn't in my generation as well. That could have something to do with it. I prefer Em's music though.
Big Sean is dope no question But Eminem is leagues ahead of him Eminem is in the league of Black Thought, Nas, Jay Z, Lupe Fiasco, André 3000, MF DOOM, Aesop Rock, Busdriver
15:12 Don't sleep on Elzhi! Please, react to some of his songs. Nobody does Elzhi reactions. React to Motown 25 (feat. Royce). It's a shame that we still don't have an Em + El collab.
Knox have you ever thought about breaking down TPAB from Kendrick? I feel like no matter how many times I listen to it, I can never understand the full picture, so your input would be awesome. I would watch a breakdown on every single song on that album if you had that.
The way I see it Em vs Royce will be a battle to behold I think if they went at each other then it would be like a unstoppable force meets a immovable object. Just hearing how they can literally feed off of each other's rhyme schemes it would be a beauitful punch fest doomed to just keep going
Having opinions about music is fine, saying somebody is better than Eminem is still fine but what's not fine is disrespecting Eminem and the impact he had on rap. People just talk crazy shit about him and the only reason is color. As for Sean or Em, I prefer Em. As for Royce vs Em, I don't think Royce could beat Em, I mean, Em is in his own lane, his abilities are unmatched.
I don't remember where I read it at but Eminem had said he dyed his hair because his girl kept calling him stupid so he wanted to "embody being a dumb blonde."
Hey Knox man I personally man I think Eminem and Royce are too evenly matched as far as their skill sets to have a fair battle cause if you look at their skill sets and the way they rhyme and you look at how similar they are, if they battled they would tie I think. Thats too close of a battle. Now Big Sean on the other hand is dope but I just think that lyrically without Eminem, Big Sean wouldn’t be who he is. Now as far as the more lyrical just all the way around better rapper as far as flow and just the way they rhyme and word play and cadence and all I gotta give to Em just because Em has been rapping longer then Big Sean and what makes Em so dope is that he came up in the game battle rapping and thats how he developed his skill by battling and studying the classic MC’s before him and I personally think that next to Tupac and Biggie that Tupac, Biggie and Eminem are my top 3 greatest all around rappers of all time in that order. Pac, Biggie and then Em
59 and em in a battle? I think that would be close just because Royce knows Marshall on such a personal level. But then again em knows royce 😆 that would go down in the history books for sure. My money is on eminem.
Eminem hands down. Look at his career look at what he's done for the game. There will never, ever be anyone anywhere that will ever be able to take that from him. Even though Royce and Big Sean have their skill sets and are dope as shit,.. no one can take what Em. Has done and is still doing at 50!! He's the longest running, most coveted rapper in the world. Hell, He's still the Richest in the Game because of how smart he is and was. He taught the cadence and flows as well as the triples and Quad entandras because no one else was making shit ryhme and work that wasn't supposed to. I was there since the beginning of hip hop and rap. And not 1 can say they do and or did what Em has done. White or Black. And this "no one bumps Em" BS is just that. You can't go anywhere in NY let alone most of the country,.. inside and out that em isn't a household name since the 90s. 😎🤘💯. Just facts.
@@i.o4766 the way our society is going it's not hard to see that I doubt the future is filled with many lyrical rappers. Look where it is now. All aspects seem to be on a huge decline. And for the last 25 to 30 years it's just continued to decline

Thank you for this video! As for who I think would win, I think Eminem takes it lol Also, Eminem is building his legacy, but his music, even though it might not always be #1 in the charts, is being passed down from generation to generation. Which in turn will be immortalized. I myself listened to Eminem growing up, now my son (who's 9) discovered him. The GOAT will be here forever. We'll make sure of that 😉
This is not a debate. People need to stop living in Delusion. It's Eminem you can try to cut it anyway you want. Hits, rapping abilities, Money, Albums sold, charts, Monthly listens, YT views it doesn't matter how you put it Eminem is better than big Sean. Shouldn't even be a debate bc they're both friends anyway so it doesnt matter.
Havn't seen any Big Sean albums or songs on lists for a while... Big Sean is nice, like really. But he can't fuck with Em from pen to hits. But Sean's pen is up there and his best songs are banging.
When they say culture they just use it as a way to demean ems status cause they still think rap culture is black culture but rap culture is worldwide so they always take a small sample size to discredit em it's getting sad at this point and to compare two artists from two totally diff eras is wack. Like the culture doesn't say drake makes better music wayne today.
Maybe its just the stan in me talking but, such questions seem to be designed to make Em "human". To make beatable or to "crack" his code. In short to dilute his greatness.
Em would win I think... Royce is for sure a great rapper master wordsmith 💯 but Em taught him a lot... would the student surpass the master? It's insane how somebody can watch this interview and still think Eminem hasn't contributed to hip hop, aren't you able more than anybody else has and is still doing it today. To be able to sit with Royce and just hear stories would be a blessing, thank you for covering this as well, keep it up Knox 🤟🏽
in a battle if they get to do written it will be even between the two, if its freestyle, i would say eminem purely for his insane freestyle abilities, but would be a fun one to watch
Detroit is one of those places that is not defined by trends but creates them, and yes, specifically black communities from Detroit. It seems there's always that singularity of time, social and economical variables that spawns crazy artistic things. It has been true for the better part of a century. It's cyclic. Blues, jazz, soul, funk, techno, hip hop.. All these have a bunch of characteristics in common, most of which are based around social issues sadly. But it always blew my mind what black communities, especially in Detroit, have been creating, the definition of art.
I'm from the streets, in the hood and hell yeah I slap Em in my ride! I'll knock some Sean too but sometimes BUT as a rapper, an emcee, hell yeah I slap Em! I don't speak for all but as for me, I love to have my mind stimulated and challenged to think deeper. Don't get me wrong, I love trap music, feel-good music and all that but I LOVE lyrics. Lil Wayne, Big Sean, J Cole, Montana, Joyner and all these emcees other than Em are AMAZING but Em pushes me to another level of thinking and writing
@Knox Hill Eminem community can crush other people empires though ..it shows how Em fan base grows with time I listen to em growing up and still 36 years old and then my 10year old son and friends started listening to some songs they like randomly .there are songs out there that are timeless that capture fans from this different era's so true that's the difference. Right now it's fack . And just loose it couple others 😂
I am so glad i am working my way thru your eminem videos! I've been an Eminem fan since the very first song! At 45 now, it feels like a strange feeling of pride that i was there from the beginning of hip hop's enigmatic superstar! The new Em facts in this are so rad! luv ya Professor! ✌️🖤
Bro if I can give you a small advice about your videos, is to look into the screen not in the camera, it feels more personal when your eyes "meet" with your viewer's. Much love.
Knox maybe you should make a video on “Residente” he is being kicked around like a soccer ball, all the underground Spanish rappers are starting to show fangs.
Big Sean or Eminem? Is that even a question? Eminem 100%!!!!! Eminem or Royce Da 5'9"? Ouch, there. They both deserve the spotlight, but Royce can't beat Em. Royce will end up even to Em, soon, but... Em still got it.
I understand his point. Here me out. When eminem releases a new album, I listen to it, watch reaction videos, but not a lot of songs makes it to my playlist. He is so technical, but his new songs aren't as good in terms of "music" than what he use to do. Old eminem songs are more "pop", have better hooks, better beats. He also had a different cadence while rapping, more "pop" than now.
N disclaimer I think Crooked is the GOAT. PERIOD. But this is absolutely ridiculous, I don't think can even finish, n just hearing Royce talk, which Royce is mad overrated as well. Js. This shit is dumb as hell tho...and big Sean?.....my God.....wtf.
Why Royce always got his hand with a straw in his face. Anyway, I agree. Em checks all the boxes, and culture boxes too. I don't buy the culture argument
I have a question.....If and when Eminem says he doesn't like a rapper does that mean to most that person is trash? I notice that so many look for approval from Eminem and I respect Eminem to the fullest but is it possible that Eminem can not like someone and that's okay? Is it Eminems opinion or is his word like God speaking to most? Just a question. 👌🏽
I don't listen to Big Sean, I only know one or two Big Sean songs. I prefer Eminem, due to him and his style and his skill. To what little I've heard from Big Sean, Eminem is the better rapper between the two. Big Sean really doesn't have the same taste. Eminem is Eminem, nobody can really beat him. They gon' be good rappers out there but not rappers like Eminem. Nobody can be on Eminem's level. He's so far ahead, he be the goat that nobody can shoot down. Nobody can match the energy nor skill from Eminem, he's his own man. Don't compare someone to Eminem cuz you really can't. There's nothing to compare to him, there ain't nobody you can compare to him.
That story about why Eminem dyed his hair bleached blonde was so funny. In my early twenties. I did something similar. In a fit of rage over some guy and being objectified constantly I went to my hairdresser and said “Time to go short. You choose, but cut it off!. I had beautiful long blonde hair but I was over it 🤣🤣🤣 It was the ugliest haircut I ever had or maybe it’s just really hard to maintain and style short hair. Long hair? Wash it, let dry overnight. If you wash it in the morning? Well maybe dry it with rounding brush. Or dry just enough for that pony tail look stylish and not like slop fest! Short hair? There are no workarounds for that. You can’t just wash and sleep. No matter what, it’s lots of fuss. For me at least. Ergo, the haircut probably not too bad. My having to style it? One word: whack 😂 Outcome: Mission Accomplished ✌️💚🙏
Dude is disconnected just like most people that try to lessen Em in one way or another. Em has songs from 20 years ago selling/charting higher than Big Sean's current music. Not sure his that currently Sean has more familiar music than Em's.
its funny, im a huge rap fan and i never listened to a single big sean song til detroit verse everybody and im from Detroit.....the only doubt of if em is the goat is from racist black rappers and racist black rap fans....big sean will tell u himself he isnt as good as eminem and knox ur spot on wit the gate keeping bullshit too, its the exact reason eminem is treated like he is
He is wrong. I listen to both hip hop and Eminem together. To say that is a bit ignorant. He raps but os pushed away from the culture and people do this cuz he is white and not a skilled rapper. What about the booty music they play? Is that culture? Sex? Gang mentality? It can go so many ways and Em has even mentioned artist that not many remember while some artist do not ever even mention them at all or care. Hip hop would not be hip hop without Eminem. Not to say its only him but hip hop is way more than simply only black music. We know it is a black sport but hip hop is much much more than that. Heck no other white rapper can compete with him either. Look pass the color scheme, he is a part of the culture for me. He got me to listen to so many artist in rap that it is laughable to even suggest he is not hip-hop

in a battle if they get to do written it will be even between the two, if its freestyle, i would say eminem purely for his insane freestyle abilities, but would be a fun one to watch
A Knox listen to Elzhi one time if you haven’t already
Man people be sleeping when it comes to Elzhi, I would like to see Lupe try to battle Elzhi 😄
You have to listen to baby and music box by Eminem. Your missing out on some of his best songs
Eminem brings to the table music that makes you think. I can't stand rap/hiphop that has no substance.
Eminem is better than me
-Big Sean
"oops" 🤣🤣🤣
Felt like everyone needed to clap after that into for Royce 5’9 lol
@Knox Hill Eminem community can crush other people empires though ..it shows how Em fan base grows with time I listen to em growing up and still 36 years old and then my 10year old son and friends started listening to some songs they like randomly .there are songs out there that are timeless that capture fans from this different era's so true that's the difference. Right now it's fack . And just loose it couple others 😂
Better question. Who is better - Eminem or Big L?
I am so glad i am working my way thru your eminem videos! I've been an Eminem fan since the very first song! At 45 now, it feels like a strange feeling of pride that i was there from the beginning of hip hop's enigmatic superstar! The new Em facts in this are so rad! luv ya Professor! ✌️🖤
I knew the answer before I even clicked on this video.
I Decided, Big Sean, please react to this album it in my top 10 but Em will always be my fav
Eminem is the 🐐🔥🔥
Fr
Facts
Definetly not.
@@JA-mj9re Shut it
@@JA-mj9re you're just wrong then
This feels like a rhetorical question to me,,,this is conspicuous,we all know Em is a monster over Sean...
pls react to churchill downs, one of the only times drake has recently though about his bars.
I wish the masses would stop sleeping on Big Sean!
Bro if I can give you a small advice about your videos, is to look into the screen not in the camera, it feels more personal when your eyes "meet" with your viewer's.
Much love.
If you hold your phone a little to the right it fixes it
@@jordanreilly6348 lol well now my eyes hurt
How is everyone doing today?
Knox maybe you should make a video on “Residente” he is being kicked around like a soccer ball, all the underground Spanish rappers are starting to show fangs.
Eminem is the greatest rapper it's undeniable
Big Sean or Eminem? Is that even a question? Eminem 100%!!!!! Eminem or Royce Da 5'9"? Ouch, there. They both deserve the spotlight, but Royce can't beat Em. Royce will end up even to Em, soon, but... Em still got it.
As a big fan of Sean..
It's not even close
Eminem is The Greatest Rapper Of All Time Period .
i was the 900th like but this video should have 6 digit likes, how is this happening?
I understand his point. Here me out. When eminem releases a new album, I listen to it, watch reaction videos, but not a lot of songs makes it to my playlist. He is so technical, but his new songs aren't as good in terms of "music" than what he use to do. Old eminem songs are more "pop", have better hooks, better beats. He also had a different cadence while rapping, more "pop" than now.
Intresting
N disclaimer I think Crooked is the GOAT. PERIOD. But this is absolutely ridiculous, I don't think can even finish, n just hearing Royce talk, which Royce is mad overrated as well. Js. This shit is dumb as hell tho...and big Sean?.....my God.....wtf.
Eminem and it's not even close at all
For tou who's better?
Dude you need to react to Upchurch built like that there is bars on top of bars and nobody is breaking it down correctly
Different Eras
Why Royce always got his hand with a straw in his face. Anyway, I agree. Em checks all the boxes, and culture boxes too. I don't buy the culture argument
For me is Enimem hopefully I spelt it right lol
😂😂😂
Nah, Sean is a good rapper, but we all know EM is a different level Sean himself will say that too.
@@Megahustla313rd Agreed.
KNOX... Imma need you to jump on these Lupe Reactions because no one really doing him Justice other than Times Nu Roman
That story about why Eminem dyed his hair bleached blonde was so funny.
In my early twenties. I did something similar. In a fit of rage over some guy and being objectified constantly I went to my hairdresser and said “Time to go short. You choose, but cut it off!.
I had beautiful long blonde hair but I was over it 🤣🤣🤣
It was the ugliest haircut I ever had or maybe it’s just really hard to maintain and style short hair.
One word: whack 😂
Outcome: Mission Accomplished
✌️💚🙏
Dude is disconnected just like most people that try to lessen Em in one way or another. Em has songs from 20 years ago selling/charting higher than Big Sean's current music. Not sure his that currently Sean has more familiar music than Em's.
Big Sean is ok..but NOWHERE near touching EM...EM is the goat🐐
Don’t need to watch the video, it’s Eminem.
I like both for different reasons lol Eminem would beat him in a battle
"bUt FoR ThE CuLTuRe." If you start the eminem vs debate with this, your opinion automatically doesn't qualify. Regardless of your credentials.
React to blackpink the happiest girl
Always eminem ❤ that guy
its funny, im a huge rap fan and i never listened to a single big sean song til detroit verse everybody and im from Detroit.....the only doubt of if em is the goat is from racist black rappers and racist black rap fans....big sean will tell u himself he isnt as good as eminem and knox ur spot on wit the gate keeping bullshit too, its the exact reason eminem is treated like he is
Why are people so against Enimem?
He got me to listen to so many artist in rap that it is laughable to even suggest he is not hip-hop
this a real question? Slim wins
