Great job reviewing what is honestly one of my favorite films. I grew up watching this film on VHS and listening to the soundtrack on cassette. I think it's really underrated as well. Even though it's one of my favorites? It isn't without it's problems. The love story is horrid, and the climax was a bit anti-climatic.
But overall it's still a really strong film that doesn't get nearly enough credit. If you love Top Gun? You will have a blast with Navy Seals.

I loved the whole thing during HALO jump scene: great music, great dialogues, outstanding photography.
    - hey, man, what's with the goggles? you look like you're underwater already
    - eat shit!

The scene where they break the bad news to Dennis Haysbert's fiancé is pretty sad and heavy, very good performances there in that scene. I think this movie is very underrated and very forgotten now unfortunately. What would be your favorite/best Michael Biehn performance Matt? I would say The Abyss was his strongest and he should've been nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar, I'm serious! Perfect representation of a man losing his sanity and going out of his mind!

A little piece of trivia for everyone, Chuck Pfarrer the screen writer of this film was a Navy SEAL in real life prior to becoming a screenwriter. He wrote a book about his time as a SEAL called Warrior Soul: The Memoir of a Navy Seal which I highly recommend reading. @ramboraph4life I remember reading online that the reason Micheal Biehn had a bad time making this movie was due to the director wanting to make the movie more comedic rather than a straight up action movie. Hence why Hawkins(Charlie Sheen) is always making funny comments and doing crazy things like jumping out of the jeep and over the bridge railing.

1:05 I never had any problems either I wish it had a little more action through out the film instead just the 1st&3rd act but still harmless bro.
14:59 Funny enough kind of like what happened to his character Hicks in ''Aliens'' LOL!
Fine job on the review for a film that really deserve all the hate it has gotten over the years IMHO!

He directed a film The Victim that he says is a "grindhouse" film directly inspired from working with Robert Rodriguez....

Great movie.. Great score too! The action is very slick. Surprisingly underplayed compared to the superhero antics of modern day action stars.
Agree about the love story too. Shite

It doesn't matter, real movie fans know Michael Biehn is "up there" in coolness factor with Steve McQueen, always liked that climbing film K2 he did.Goes well with Cliffhanger or Vertical Limit.

1:52 Michael Biehn didn't like this movie because it was silly, he wanted this movie to be more realistic/serious, he talks about it in this interview @1:10:58
