For sinusitis:- taking hot water showers, hot humidified air inhalation, avoiding AC, and keeping the head at a raised angle while sleeping helps clear up the blocked sinuses and also opens up the nostrils. For throat infection, gargling with hot water with salt in it. Also take a teaspoon of turmeric, mix it with some ghee, and having it really helps. Some 25 years ago I saw on Japanese TV a famous singer who swore never having a cold in like 40 years (his long time agent did attest he never saw him ill.) So I started to do what he was doing: flush your nose twice a day with a cup of warm salty water. Being doing this religiously for at least 20 years and I never ever had a sore throat or a fever during this time (but of course I sneeze every now and then and that's it.) BTW that singer is very much alive and pushing 80. Thanx for the tip! Just my little anecdotal case.
IMHO the best way to treat a cold is inhaling (1l of boiling water, a few drops of mint oil, a towel and ~10 minutes of time can do wonders to clearing and hydrating your respiratory system), staying bundled up in bed most of the day, and NOT fighting a fever unless you get into the dangerous range above 40°C. The raised temperature helps your immune system with fighting off the "invasion".

The best thing to do, is get heaps of rest as soon as you feel the first symptoms coming on. Most people try to push through until it's too late. As soon as you feel the slightest sore throat or cough, try get over 10+ hours sleep. This usually does the trick, and it very rarely progresses to anything more serious.
Zinc lozenges at the first signs of a sore throat. Keep your throat coated in zinc all day and the virus stands no chance. I haven't had a cold in probably 10 years.
A cold is caused by a drop in temperature, where the immune system is unable to function optimally. Therefore, keep your body warm during the cold months, and especially if you fall ill. Going out in cold weather while sick will prolong the cold. An additional thing that can help is raw ginger.
❤ This was very informative. My trick is to increase my hydration levels with soups, teas and salty stock drinks. I eat plenty of meats and vegetables for the nutrients that they provide, and try to sleep as much as I can. Luckily for me, I don't have kids under my care nor a job with crazy hours that compromise my ability to get rest. I also make pine sap tinctures that I mix with honey as a expectorant and to soothe sore throats respectively. But in the end, I'm only dealing with the symptoms, not the cause, and it still takes 7 days for the virus to run its course
I have a sort of allergy from my fathers side where dust or cold temperature or change in water, even random itching in nose can lead to cold, it starts as sneeze, then runny nose and then full on cold. We all always carry Cetrizine, Levocetrizine or Montelukast Levocetrizine with us, these anti allergic tablets mostly cure our cold in 4 days, pair this with some antibiotics and it gets better even faster.
I find the best remedy is to proactively focus on sleep and fluids as soon as possible. The second I start to think I might be getting a bit of a sore throat, I stop staying up late, drinking any alcohol, and even going to the gym. Instead I act like I'm already sick. I start going to bed at 9pm, drink a ton of water and warm tea, and generally just stay home and lie down as much as possible. At times when I've had the luxury of being able to do this, I've had my sore throat just go away without turning into a cold. It's only the times when I'm really busy and can't stay home or get enough sleep that it ends up developing into a full blown cold with mucus, coughing, headaches and everything.
I kept on getting antibiotics prescribed for cold since i was a kid. My digestion is pathetic and it is only a few years ago that I stopped consuming antibiotics for fever and im actually falling sick way less, my digestion has also been lil better
Antibiotics work for bacteria not viruses. Many colds are caused by viruses, so antibiotics do nothing to help. Also antibiotics can kill your intestinal flora. So it might harm more than it helps.
Antibiotics don't do anything to help colds. They only kill certain bacteria, and colds and flus are caused by viruses. Antibiotics are important treatments for things like strep throat or other bacterial infections, but as someone else said they are poisonous to your body and also kill off a lot of good bacteria that you need to be well, so it's important to only use them when actually necessary.
Doctors these days prescribe antibiotics like candies... There's risk of becoming resistant to them and then it won't work on you later in life... Most cold cases can be handled well at home with rest... You can use paracetamol for fever and levocetrizine for runny nose or cold for temporary relief

Warm baths with eucalyptus bubble bath and olbas oil mixed, warms drinks with lemon, honey and a drop of whisky ( if appropriate) , lots of sleep , keep warm and eat soothing foods like soup. Also, find something to interest you like reading or TV to keep your mind and spirits up.
My most common practices for colds: rest, hydrate (with tea), inhale steam. Paracetamol for headaches, throat lozenges or sugar free bonbons for throat pain. Only once did I have to get codeine when my cough lasted for a month and caused chest pain.
@optico-hq8dg With or without these, a cold usually runs up to two weeks. The things I mentioned are only to treat the symptoms so you'll feel less like poop; they are and not a cure. There is a saying I picked up that if you don't take medicine, a cold will last two weeks, and if you do take medicine it will last 14 days. Best to rest and let your immune system do its job. Remember to eat and hydrate so your body has enough energy to flush out the pathogens, which takes time no matter what you do. Even if you take strong medicine that suppresses all symptoms, you might still be infectious or could relapse. A low fever should run its course naturally as that's how the body fights some pathogens. A high fever or anything that lasts longer than two weeks should be checked out by a doctor though. Prevention is still the best way to go: mask during cold season, avoid touching your face when out (a mask acts as a barrier so there is less face touching), and immediately wash your hands when you get home.
Such a coincidence, I started sneezing all of a sudden and opened the RUclips app on phone to see this video at the top of my list. Anyways, the best remedy I take is to stay warm and take a good sleep which works out most of the time for this common cold.
So happy they mentioned zinc. Taken early enough, for me, it basically stops the cold in its tracks. It’s a literal cure. But it needs to be taken exactly at the onset of the first symptoms.
my usual remedy is green tea and lots of lemon and honey, the antioxidants help with general immunity and health and lemon has vitamin c for your immune system, and then there's also the honey which helps your cough as said above

I have cold for the last 2 weeks. Thanks!
4:50 Nice to know Billy’s still using tangelos into his adulthood
Nice.
Hi! I drew those tangelos (I directed the piece). Thanks for noticing.. -Lippy
@@VR-jg3sp That was intentional?? No way!
I had a cold exactly one week ago from today and I am getting better, but I would have liked have seen this sooner!
The animations reminded me of old Flash games.
Thank you. I directed/designed the piece, and I also animated old Flash games! - Lippy.
I'm sick at the moment so this video has been helpful so thank you😊
My most common practices for colds: rest, hydrate (with tea), inhale steam.
Paracetamol for headaches, throat lozenges or sugar free bonbons for throat pain.
Only once did I have to get codeine when my cough lasted for a month and caused chest pain.
So if i do all of this then how long will the cold last?
I have been sick with either COVID-19 or influenza since Saturday, thank you for making this video.
First I got the tetnanus shot, then you upload it too.
Now the cold....I really hope I don't get a cold now
"MUCUS INC." 😂😂
Thank you. I directed/designed the piece. Thanks for noticing the mucus sign.. - Lippy.
@@VR-jg3sp Nice! That was brilliant👏🏿👏🏿
Such a coincidence, I started sneezing all of a sudden and opened the RUclips app on phone to see this video at the top of my list.
Anyways, the best remedy I take is to stay warm and take a good sleep which works out most of the time for this common cold.
I hate cold and fever 😔
In India we take steam, drink kadha and take 1-2 drops of mustard oil in nose these remedies helps much better than any medicine available in market.
Just this morning I had to use an Antihistamine to stop never-ending sneezes, which worked well.
So happy they mentioned zinc. Taken early enough, for me, it basically stops the cold in its tracks. It’s a literal cure. But it needs to be taken exactly at the onset of the first symptoms.
I neglect it so it can never come back.
my usual remedy is green tea and lots of lemon and honey, the antioxidants help with general immunity and health and lemon has vitamin c for your immune system, and then there's also the honey which helps your cough as said above
POV: You are watching this because you have a cold
How did you know?
i am sick ,the timing 🔥
When you work on something that only has the capacity to make you 5 dollars, it does not matter how much harder you work - the most you will make is 5 dollars.
Any specific guide. I'm from Georgia how do I go about this? I think I'm interested how can I get in touch with Mr Brian Nelson
Thanks for the info. I'll reach out to him immediately
I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $21k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic.
My 401k lost everything it's gained since early 2019. Sigh, wouldn't mind looking into the person that guides you, I'd really love to grow my reserve seeing I should be retiring in 3years.
I'd a bad cold last week, me and my family belives that we should rest and not take medicines and depend on home reimides, but they took a whole week, being a freelancer, I was losing money and couldn't afford to take rest so I had to to see a doctor and I was fine after a day. I' live in India. My cough was so bad, I felt like my food pipe would fall apart.

I'm just plain ashamed of my existence
