Yes , the Campbell Shopping Mall at Campbell Road ( Shame & so disrespectful to our pioneers who helped to build-up Kuala Lumpur by changing their names into a Dang Wangi that means what actually?! ) , the iconic old cinema of Odean with its small stoned facade & the hawkers selling delicious satay , porridge , noodles , ais kacang campur etc., situated near & after the same row along side as Campbell shopping mall & the Campbell Road Police Station! There was a toy shop in this Campbell Shopping Mall selling all sort of toys back in the 1970s & early 1980s ... Sadly like Ampang Park Shopping Centre ( 1973-2017 ) , these older shopping malls are now a skeleton shell of their former glorious days ... Brought back so much old memories of the 1970s & 1980s era ... Thank You So Much for sharing!
Ya it is sad that many of the roads name are changed left, right and centre. Wow didn't know the place has such a rich history. HEy , no worries, I am happy to share, thanks for supporting my channel as well. :)
The Campbell Shopping Centre next to Pertama Complex used to be quite popular before Yaohon was built there. Now the times have changed with the new more modern malls like KLCC Petronas Twin Tower, Pavilion and SOGO mall.
Thanks for sharing. :)
There was a decent Chinese restaurant on the roof-top floor. I have attended a few dinners there.
Wow, that's amazing. I wonder if the Chinese restaurant is still there.
How many years ago 🤔????
Used to get favourite outdoor gear/travel stuffs there. I guess people are not into mall nowadays because everywhere there’s a mall/near to their home. Back in the days, every mall has their niche while access to the mall are limited to 6 big malls…. Other things that changed is, during festive season people have to travel from afar to these malls but now most do it online
Ya that's true. Malls nowadays are too general and doesn't really have their own niche.
similar fate to Komtar in Pg,used to be vibrant, now dying n similar like campbell too...Midlands park in Pg too,can u believe Backstreet Boys performed free when they first started in Midlands park,n now its dead!
Wow.. I gotta go check out Komtar next.
Yes bsb. Their first performances.. I was there 😂
@@chrischoong1618 wow...amazing to knw a fellow mate of same era,who was there...not sure if anyone recorded the performance!once over,i got down to the stage area,n closest i got was a few meters away from them,n gosh they were tiny!just kiddos.
@ I was in the second row hahaha.. came all the way from Bagan serai just for this 😁😀
used to go here to buy kain for my business. at 3rd floor have quite a lot of kain shops. there are also a lane full with punk rock music stores. its definetely like a time machine
Ya it is I believe the punk rock music stores are still there.
I used to go there to buy my metal CD and T-shirt and occasionally Jeans.
Ahhhh... good old days. This place is really like a time capsule
Saya baru tau Campbell shopping mall ni antara tertua di Malaysia, rajin cari kasut dan seluar sejak tahun 1995 lagi
I only go here to buy casual shoes, usually about 20 minutes. That's all 😅
Ya shoes there really quite decent. Otherwise, nothing much to explore in the mall.
The place I purchased my first sport shoe in 90-s era..........former JPN office as well
Good old memory. Didn't know there used to be a JPN here. Does most malls that are not doing well get JPN as a tenant? Not the 1st time seen one..
Nice place always get mixed up with this and Semua House look alike😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Semua House just got refurbished I think. XD
Please a video about MARA Digital......another sarang Pontianak!!!...........
Hahah this one has been on the top of my mind. Just a bit apprehensive going into a mall known for... but ya will check it out definitely!
My choice back then would be Ampang Park..... Still prefer smaller malls even now😅
Alas... Ampang Park is shut down already. If not would go and film it as well, before all these old malls are being converted...
there is no popular landmark/ touristy attraction… full stop. This the reason.. You may go to other country.. or the nearest lah our neighbour… mereka also having same situation… local nowadays lazy to do window shopping at malls.. tired after work, better balik rumah tidur… mall yang survive only get hope from foreigner tourist..
That's very true. Stuck in traffic after work already tiring
How about Wilayah Complex??.......already sarang Pontinak since 1990's.........
Woww... that's a good one! Probably will check it out soon! Thanks for the recommendation!
never heard of it, haha
JPN was here
She's showing her age 😢
Ya she is... especially the interior. :(
Whenever malls shooing away by Malaysians, the foreigners will get in. Where's the local government?
yeah like pertama complex......pinoy mall now
Supply and demand... you'd rather they becoming totally deserted?
