    End of Schumacher's 1st full season. 1 win 3 seconds 4 thirds 2 fourths and 1 7th place. Any other grand prix driver ever, come close to that?

      And Jacques Villeneuve as well. Runner-up in his debut season, in 1996, winning 4 races.

      @Caribbean the thing is Lewis Hamilton drove the best car his first year. He wasn't exactly new to the car either. He tested for Mclaren since 2004 and racked up 40000kms in their cars. He knew the car better than Fernando did. Compare that to Michael who was drafted into the seat by accident at Spa 1991 and immidiately impressed. Hell in 1992 his his first full year he almost outscored Patrese who was in that rocket Williams and he drove with H pattern and clutch for the whole year whilst others had flappy pedals. Not his fault Williams that year made a car that not even Senna could beat. Jacques Villeneuve also impressive first year. Came from winning indycar to Europe completely different environment on completely different tracks he never even drove on and almost beat Damon Hill. In fact had Jacques Villeneuve won the first race of the year instead of being ordered to let Damon through him and Damon would have went into the final round of the year only one point appart... Its a shame Williams deliberately messed up his pitstop at Suzuka... Its not possible to rate the first seasons because every driver drove in different circumstances and not everyone was lucky to have the best car on the grid...

      But Hamilton had a McLaren on the top..... Is not the case of this Benneton.... It's a Big Difference.... Schumi takes 3 years to fight for the championship.... Hamilton in the first season fight already for that.... Big..... Big...... Big difference.

    Not bad the gap to the Williams..... Those laps is to prepare the race and not qualification.... Maybe the first or two practice sessions.... The great Schumacher!

      Most likely yes. Coulthard actually crashed at this pit lane entry a couple years later in the Williams.

    How on earth did he lose 1.3 seconds in the last sector alone?

    • @Michaelingolfhansen
      @Michaelingolfhansen 10 лет назад +1

      He did not! He only lost 0.128 seconds!

      At sector 2. it actually says +0.537! :-)

    -- Ironie On --
    Yes but 1992 Schumacher had an Illegal Turbo Charger in his Benetton.
    Thats the only reason why he was 1992 already faster than Senna, only because of the Illegal Turbo Charger.

      Karl S. Senna just had so many technical problems over the year that he couldn't get as much points as Schumacher. But Schumis 1992 season was great for sure !

    • @hristoitchov
      @hristoitchov 3 года назад +4

      Illegal turbo charger? They didn't even have a turbo engine back then, so I wonder where you heard that from...

    • @michaeldavis2531
      @michaeldavis2531 3 года назад

      Turbochargers were banned in 1989, so all naturally-aspirated engines during 1992.
