How to Boot the PC from a different device (MSI B350, sept.2017 BIOS )

- Power ON the PC, press the Delete key a few times to enter BIOS.
"Boot Priority" should be visible on the first page. Either drag and drop the icons using the mouse cursor, or use the keyboard to change the boot order (press the arrow keys until the Boot Priority section is highlighted, press Enter key on a device to select it, than use arrow keys to re-position it, press Enter again to deselect it).
When the computer is powered ON the first device from the left side will be booted, if that does not contain any operating systems than the second device will be booted, than the third and so on.
In this manner you can:
- Boot from Hard Drive
- Boot from a different Hard Drive
- Boot from CD/DVD
- Boot from USB (Flash Drive, external HDD or CD/DVD)

Yo. Mets le bios à jour ? On a du passé par cette étape pour pouvoir switch le boo order.
Assure toi que la clé a bien été formaté et qu'il y a que windows dessus.
T'es sûr que le port USB est bien branché au PC ? J'ai par exemple deux ports usb devant mon PC qui sont pas branché (et donc indetectable) Utilise ceux directement de ta carte mère pour être sûr.

I wish MSI would do what other board makers do and have a separate boot menu to appear, this would be a lot better than this. I have boot drives that is seems to fail to show up as boot drives. The fact is even when those icons are selected in order it can still fail to boot from the selected drive, or fails to find any boot drive! This is when a boot drive is clearly present. M.2 boot drives often fail to appear in the icons, even when they are bootable drives. This is all highly confusing.

I’m just on a never ending loop. I just reseted my settings to clear everything. It went to restart my computer and now it’s just keeps restarting. The only thing I can get into is the bios. Help!!

Ok so I have the windows boot media on my USB and it’s going into the windows setup it’s saying that no signed drivers were found and non of my hard drives are poping ip
It still won't fix it you need to have a bootable usb in the back of ur pc otherwise it won't work

Look for Safe Boot and try to disable it.

See in BIOS if there is a feature to enable/disable M.2. Try to install a Windows unto it. Disable secure boot.
@Calvin Colton Seems to be a bug, it fails to show M.2 drives as bootable icons, mine showed up has a UEFI Network icon not a disk icon at all

Dude why on my bios version same like you, my driver of flashdrive its not appears on bios priority seems not like you, but it work when i install on cd drive internal even its not appears on the boot priority ? Can u explain it?
Try to format the flash drive to a different file system (FAT32 might work)

@@SoalaZ yeah. You need to go into the drive settings and assign it a drive letter, then reboot. After reboot it will appear as its own separate drive.
@@Studio215official do you have m2 nvme ssd or sata ssd? My nvme ssd just wont show up as a booting option, but I can see it in the list. Where exactly can I assign it as drive letter
@@SoalaZ I have m2 nvme. I think it's inside the control panel menu but I can't remember the exact steps. I actually watched a video on how to do it. Just look up "assigning a drive letter to your SSD" and you should find plenty of videos walking you through it. It's fairly easy.

Set one hard disk as first boot option, than set another one as first and see which contains an operating system.

I used Legacy instead of UEFI. UEFI hides stuff away.

I have a problem with cloned HDD-SSD, W10 is booting from hdd trough windows boot manager, tried setting priority boot to SSD, but its the same story. Also I tried booting straight from the SSD or HDD, then I get the non bootable disc shenanigans :D Does anyone know how can I set the windows boot manager to boot from the cloned SSD?

Whan I hover on the hdd icon, no specs come up, but under settimgs; system status, my ssd and hdd show up. What am I doing wrong?
If you want to boot from another device you must change the "Boot Priority" or "Boot order", it's not enough only to see the available HDDs or SSDs.
@@furulevi After hours of troubleshooting, I had to change boot settings from uefi to legacy. It wasn't even showing up in the boot list. But it was recognized. Very odd. But thanks.
