This show is one of the most dense in terms of story progression, character development and of course action. And yet every episode flows so smoothly. Not an easy feat for all involved..
Check out Preacher if you haven't. It's the show that Seth and Evan did before The Boys and it's extremely similar and highly under rated.

Michael Mathers They use a story circle, like Breaking Bad, Better call Saul, etc. You have to have story arc every episode that concludes but build towards the overall season story. That was the biggest problem with TWD.

Homelander is one of the best comic-book villains put to screen. Charming, powerful, terrifying, and with genuine motivations/reasons for being like he is - and none of them good.

I just thought of something, way back in episode 1 Huey had his imaginary blow up, where he said that all he wanted was for someone to look him in the eye and tell him that they were sorry. Here he got that from Starlight. She said she was sorry and she hugged him. She might not have had anything to do with Robin, but she is a supe, and from Vought. I think that is yet another instance where she started saving Hughie from turning out like Butcher.

That baby in the lab had the same laser eyes as Homelander but blue, could it be Vought is trying to reclone Homelander seeing as he is the perfect superhero?
Blue lasers are also stronger than red ones, that baby could cut homelander in half

I think Hughie was being sincere when talking to Starlight. He's in this mess because of his girlfriend and he's trying to get out of it.
Frenchie sees Kimiko for who she is. She’s trying to survive. There is so much more to their whole relationship. When you’ve been through it, you see the world and everyone in a different light. The world completely opens up.
This episode shows why Vought does what it does, besides the money, Vought trumpets the idea that the Supes are gods that walk among us. We heard Stillwell in Episode 2 call Homelander a god. If the Supes are gods that walk among mortals, and Vought controls the supes they are more powerful than the gods. It is definitely a power trip for the company, and probably for the executives. Hopefully we will see more of that idea about Vought in season 2.

@@ripplayboicactus9279 It could have taken 3 seconds to show somebody trying to get a connection and acknowledge that there is none. Since that didn't happen, it's safe to assume that they did and the director/producers/writers/etc simply didn't think of it.

Wolverine does have a lot of Asian connections in his backstory... so I have been kind of thinking they had that in mind when creating this character.
Honestly Steven, for a year I have been wanting to start my own Reaction/Teaching Danish channel , and I have been postponing it because “I dont have the time, how do I find time to edit and film, school and what about the kids bla bla” and I always end up thinking “Girl, if STEVEN can find time to work, family life, react, edit, hobbies, then so can you”. Nikki and I are on the same page about the Rebecca's tombstone. I never understood why Butcher couldn't just let her mom have that.
It's because hes extremely selfish, he shows this multiple times throughout the show, in lying to hughie at the start about being FBI and to mothers milk when he tells him frenchie isn't involved..... basically anything to get what he wants, and here too with the tombstone because his pain and anger is more important to him than anyone elses, there are other examples too that I wont mention for spoiler reasons.... but yea hes definately a flawed character which is part of what makes him so compelling 🙂
Plane wreks over the ocean can be very difficult to locate. That Malaysian flight that crashed in the ocean still hasn't been found at that happened over 4 years ago.
Homelander is extremely lazy, he is super strong and invincible, but he prefers to use his laser vision. He also, sees himself as above normal humans, which if you really look at his expression on the plane, he was actually eager to let all those people die.
One thing i dont understand with superhero speed is, how you can inject a syringe in superfast speed?
I’m guessing they are moving incredibly fast to our eyes, yet to them they have all the time in the world.
Hence why they don’t trip over things ig

Black Noir is like the Batman of this series. Except instead of just being a peak human he is superhumanly strong and fast, but only like 2-3x as fast and strong as a normal human. So he's not on the level of A-train or Homelander or even Maeve, but he's not just "I workout every day" strong. Aside from that he's really stealthy and skilled with a vast amount of weapons. There's more to him as well but that would be spoiler territory, if they even follow remotely close to the comics in that regard.

Everything in this episode was crazy as shit. We saw a baby used as a weapon, Homelander and Stilwell's bizarre Oedipus like relationship and the female is the team's Wolverine. Plus now you know where superheroes really come from. Which means you know Vought's dirty little secret. But you still don't know everything yet. This shit only gets crazier. And I reiterate, Homelander is the best villain on television.
They had to tone done the depiction of all the gross sex compared to the comics quit a bit including the breast feeding. In the comics they do stuff you just cannot put in a TV show. Doesn't hurt the show though it is great.

Last episode, Homelander was going to rescue the plane until he just got sloppy with his laser vision. (I say sloppy becse we saw him display pinpoint en he fused the robber's gun to his hand in episode 1 and he lasted the terrorist in the cabin in the chest without punching through him.) After he destroyed the controls (though the co-pilot's side should've still been working), Homelander gured the physics and decided a partial rescue wasn't epic enough a save for him. That's when he decided to spin "arriving too late" into a narrative of vengeance and the need for suoes in the military.

I think the weird sexual roleplaying is the only way Vought can control Homelander, I would assume it's part of the reason Stillwell has such a high position in the company. Feels like the company would exterminate any supe they outright couldn't control. My guess is that Billy and his guys used to be the corporate "security" in charge of decommissioning ill-behaved supes.
I truly think A-Train mercy killed her, the overdose would have been nearly painless with all that heroin, and Homelander absolutely would not let a loose end live, doubtful A-Train could lie to him if he let her live and not be caught. Still tragic and terrible.

Finally watched the first season of The Boys and damn, Homelander is one of the most "edge-of-your-seat" characters I've seen in a minute. Props to the actor for delivering such an unhinged and unfathomably intense performance. Goddamn.

Why is The Deep unredeemable but Negan is?
Both characters are sexual predators. The Deep told Starlight he would get her kicked out of the 7 if she didn't service him. Negan would kill a woman's husband/family they did submit to him sexually. Just trying to understand why It's forgivable when one character uses sexual coercion but not when another uses it.
Homelander is just an asshole. He could tell Huey was nervous so he just fucked with him. And Antony Starr is freakin amazing in this... the way he can go from superstar smile to psycho stare in a split second is just incredible.
The Seven is loosely based on the Justice League, so Black Noir is Batman.
The character of homelander is based off of the presidency of donald trump. A seemingly superman like person in the public eyes, but a deeply flawed and cruel person in general.

In the comics Billy butcher DID stomp a baby sup to death
They toned down the violence and gore a lot in the show 😭 I’m wondering how much they’ll be able to put in season 2.

This show is crazy so many good characters, I love all of 'the Boyz' group Billy is hilarious, well they are all funny. The supes as well Starlight is great, Homelander is scary as frak. They did such a good job with this cast and show. Great reaction it's been amazing to see how others react to it. I'd forgotten a lot of it. I need to actually watch the show again.
