Was excellent in outrageous fortune,a new Zealand tv show where he played twin brothers before he hit the American big time should search it out if you have the chance.
He was great as Lucas Hood love me some Banshee bummed it isnt on prime anymore. But Starr is has been crazy good as Homelander who is so different from Lucas Hood at first I didnt realize it was him.
Homelander was born and raised in a lab. He never had a mom and never experienced that mother-like affection. Stillwell knows this and uses it to manipulate and control him by catering to those emotions that homelander secretly longs for
You can tell by episode 6 he didn’t have parents in his life they showed a flashback of homelander as a kid playing peekaboo through glass with his parents…
“There are no secrets from me” I’m screaminggg love these two lines and the delivery as well… I legit randomly recite them throughout the day since I’ve seen it 😂
Which is dumb because they explicitly say he has X-Ray vision. Superman can't see through lead because X-rays can't penetrate lead. They can however penetrate Zinc. I guess the writers for the show/comic thought that was just some BS the writers for Superman came up with not realizing that's how X-rays actually work.
Homelander is a perfect example of how to create a sociopath. But Butcher is no good guy by any stretch of the imagination. His hatred drove him off the deep end a while ago. I feel bad for the people caught between those two.
i love that they dont make butcher OVERLY sympathetic. its easy to make an anti hero being justified due to him just killing bad guys and not hurting innocent. but in this show, even when its understandable, butcher's actions are still dangerous and could prove harmful not just to himself but to his friends as well
"How do you restrain Homelander if he doesn't want to be restrained?" Now you understand a little of how Lex Luthor feels, and his motivations. The tiniest chance that Superman could go bad would mean the tiniest chance of complete extinction of humans. So it's pretty logical to try to figure out how to kill him.
In The Boys comic book, there is a failsafe plan to take out Homelander if he goes completely out of control. But withing spoiling anything in case The Boys web series adopts it, let's just say that failsafe goes bad big-time.
The difference is homelander is power that might be able to be stopped with nukes could kill a lot of people. But superman is like universal level like he can’t sneeze planets away if he loses control while homelander cannot even destroy one. It’s a different monster tbh.
The look of hatred and disgust on Nikki's face when Butcher revealed what Homelander did to his wife brought tears to my eyes and fear in my heart. It refers to my own emotions. Homelander is PURE evil!
Steven's right -- the way Vought created and raised the supes is horrific. While it doesn't excuse their behavior whatsoever, it goes a long way towards explaining it.
No, if anybody knows Homelander's weakness, it will be Stillwell and/or Mr Edgar, the CEO of Vought, his face changed when he was mentioned. Butcher is on the outside looking in and a vendetta against Homelander, he is still learning stuff. Also, these guys know who they are and how they are perceived, no idea of their experiences, imagine that for a long, long time, you will grow cold and heartless.

The show is vastly better than the comics for me. The Seven in the books are written as evil just for the sake of being evil. The show adds layers to them. I'm so happy the show happened.
@@hunzren I couldn't stand the comic. It reads like the fantasy of an edgy 16-year old, the characters were caricatures and I couldn't care shit about what happened to them because of that. I think the series is much better, because it adds emotional depth to it.

I think that is why she is willing to do anything to protect the Supes, she does not want them to realize what they could do if let off their leashes, and what they would likely do to her for trying to control them.
Homelander is powerful and crazy enough to kill every human in the world. He wants breastfeeding? He gets breastfeeding. Stillwell is saving the world.
