True. Luckily, as a African American female, from the ages of four to at least twelve I wore my hair braided so now it doesn't hurt as much but its still painful at sensitive parts xP But luckily I wear extensions now.
AHahahhah! xD Yeah, I know. I once had dreads. It hurt like fucking hell, even though I have really thick hair. xD And it was long before that, Hadn't cut my hair since I was 14 or so and got the dreads 4 years later :)
No you can tell this woman is very gental handed. I am an African american female too and I had my hair braided plenty of times. I had my hair braided by the most heavy handed to the point where you eyelids touch the back of head when you're done. And I had my hair braided by a very light handed person to where you don't feel any pain when she does it. I have no idea how the woman does it but she is very gentle and it doesn't hurt; I got my hair don't by her a few times.
This woman seems like she is braiding the same gentle way as the woman who did my hair does. You can tell she is gentle. Eventhough it his first time, and he is white and don't have thick kinky hair (so he is most likely very tender headed) he doesn't seem too bothered by it.
SourStrawberrys Same. Some black hairstylists I've had in the past say that you're not supposed to pull the braids too tight otherwise it would result in traction alopecia. Conan looks to be fine with it
It really sucks if you're getting that done while your stylist is watchinh a rage-inducing suspense film. 😭
I remember when Conan had the braids! Greatest talk show bit that lasted a few weeks. Even funnier liking back on it now. I remember the guests were sometimes speechless.

Metal Mayhem you sew a weave into someone's braided natural hair, extensions is hair braided or twisted into the hair or clipped on . So it is just adding length instead of just going over the hair.
