I don't know my friend was rewarded a loose box mod for a legendary effect on one of his characters while we finished an event I think it was like eviction notice or encrypted maybe
I know this video is a couple months old but just letting everyone know the sheepsqatch can spawn is non legendary (a necrotic sheepsquatch I believe) but it's not common so this method is still worth it
If you scrap a 3 star there's always the chance you will learn/get mod from the 2nd or 3rd star. So it's much better scrapping 1 stars with the effect you're after.
Yeah, I was going to point this out. On a 3 star item, it doesn't seem that each star has its own separate chance of turning into a mod box or a plan. While it does seem that getting a mod box or a plan are two separate "rolls", there's only one plan you're going to learn at maximum, and one mod box at maximum. Additionally, the game seems to also take any star mods that you already know the plan for out of the pool to possibly learn - so your best chance at learning a 3-star property (which you can only learn from 3-star items, obviously) is to do this on an item where you already know the plans to make modboxes for the other two stars. (My experience so far is not extensive, but I have learned ~37 modbox plans, and got about 30 modboxes from scrapping, so I do have some knowledge.) If anyone has found evidence to show what I said is wrong, I'd love to hear about it.
@@Foffershave you learned any 2 star mod plans? I’ve learned about 20 mod plans but they’ve all been 1 star or 3 star. And I’ve scrapped a ton of 2 star items. Seems fishy.
Though 2* and 3* mod boxes are more expensive to craft, 30 and 60 modules respectively. I like to learn new plans and that's the main thing I splurge my currencies on, but it's cheaper to have a weapon with good secondary effects drop on you and just change the 1*. Just learned the -90% weapon weight mod, one of my favourites, but at 60 modules per mod, I'm only planning on slapping it on my established favourites which are lacking it.
On bread for that that we’ve had these kind of things over and over again throughout the years they’re around for a while and they take them out. My current camp is sitting right next to what used to be a ship splash spot almost every time I fast travel back I could kill a sheep watchat least a couple times a day. I never really tried server hopping it but legendary response for critters. this is not an unprecedented situation.
Someone else has figured out the new rules of crafting the legendary items too! Second tip I will add that can help potentially: Get your hands on an anti-armor flaming chainsaw or auto-axe(any configuration you like - but anti-armor) and run the tax evasion expedition. If you are running a sneaky build style, not even a good one, you should be able to get usage on this. The chainsaw and auto-axe will make short work of the overgrown and buttercup at the end - recommend chems to make it faster. This is actually how I got the union PA well before anyone else did. I did the damn grinding for it. The auto-axe also in burning mode will RIP the enemies apart, especially if you have sturdy tools running. I have also noticed a couple of additional items that I don’t think anyone has noticed yet: 1. Gauss weapons may be sellable now. Anyone can confirm this yet? 2. The kabloom shotgun had received a huge boost in power. If you got one and haven’t been using it yet, go play. I have a feeling that it might be connected with the caravan quest lines coming up. Who knows?
Thanks for this tip. I found the spot, put my survival tent up, changed servers and got attacked by both a Sheepsquatch and a Scorched Beat Queen at the same time. Both were only 1 star but what a hell of a fight to survive without getting killed and killing them both. Thanks again.
I have been scripting my 1 & 2 star legendaries, and only scrapping the 3 stars. When there’s a sale on legendary items I’m going to spend all my scrip on 3 stars to scrap. This way I have the highest chances of unlocking 3 star legendary effects.

Well, my generosity with decent meta items by giving them to newer players or selling them for very cheap at my vendor, is biting me in the ass a bit. I wondered why high level players (read anyone over 500) was buying my 2 and 3 star decent but not amazing stuff that would be fantastic for players under 100 level…. Now i know why. And I don’t use a mule. So the hunt begins. Thanks for this video.

Built my camp on top of those rocks with a ton of turrets. Sheepsquatch spawns EVERY time I enter the server and many other times when I just fast travel back! The only problem I have run into with sender hopping is that 50% of the time someone ELSE has their camp there and mine won't place! 😂
Works great! I even found that at the little campground on the other side of those rocks, another legendary may spawn. Saw a 2nd Sheepsquatch and a 1* floater freezer.
For the explosive mod get at least 5000 script. Buy two star ranged weapon from Murpgh, boost luck as much you can and prior to that check bubble heads and magazines locations. If there are plenty on the server, the chances of scraping explosive items are much higher to unlock or to get that mod.
I mean once you get on a server, look at places where you usually would find bubble heads and magazines. If there is plenty of them on the server, the odds of getting better stuff from the events or while crafting or scraping is higher.

Yup, been doing this all day between mutated events hit 40 on score scoreboard and jumped 15 levels and as you say in total I must have picked up 50+ legendaries. And since they nerfed the nukanades just cancel it out with the normal perks, buffs and switch leader bobblehead for explosive, the slight loss of XP is actually increased by the gain in killing most of the mutants with that extra explosive damage. (Don't forget to run like hell) increase even more by having a bloodied or instigating weapon equipt.
@@RobertRife-h6w yeah the nuka grenades seem to be less strong they still work for clearing them out quickly but still have a few stragglers to kill. I went hard at it yesterday intelligence up at 74, i just made rank 60 this morning

Other than making sure they are facing the right direction, there isn’t a whole lot else to it! But, I’d be happy to walk you through it if you’re still wondering about something.

I took six Deathclaw Hands and, with Super Duper and Scrapper equipped, crafted and scrapped Unstoppable Monsters over and over until I learned all three of the effects. Took less than 20 minutes. Credit to The Nightmare Duke for the tip.
i had buncha uny armors stashed up, turns out didnt need but just one to scrap and i learned it. Tried it with quad but no chance, burned through them like butter.
I had the same thing happen with medical malpractice. Learned medics first scrap. Nothing else the remaining 100 scraps. Disappointing to say the least. But I did manage to unlock overeaters so overall I am happy and got to upgrade the SS armor like I hoped.
I scrapped around 150 uny armors - no plan unlock, but at least two boxed mods ... I might just buy 1-star armors for 11 scrip each in the Purveyor legendary sale tomorrow to get more uny armors
@@RevivalDan The Purveyor sale is -25% and 1-star armor is by default 15 scrip which gets rounded down to 11 scrip. While doing this keep track of what you have already unlocked as you can use the scrip machine to get 3 scrip back instead of 1 scrip from scrapping. If you also need 2-star unlocks then 2-star armor is also good as it's 22 scrip - so same scrip per star ratio. 3-star armor costs 45 scrip with the sale discount.
@@crazy-tommy I have about 100 modules left and still haven’t unlocked vats optimized from medical malpractice. And around 3k scrip from my converted cores. Hopefully I get lucky and won’t need to spend scrip on too many modules for more MMs

You can apply the effect, but it does not enhance the damage on certain weapons like the gamma gum. No one really knows which ones it is supposed to work on?
This change is kind of a gimmick to get players to feel invested in the franchise. It's still a grind scrapping many items for one mod. It's a minimal change to a 5 year old game that desperately needs compelling content. Running around and doing challenges is a chore, not enjoyment, especially once you invested over 3oo hours exploring much of the game.
I desperately want more interesting and difficult challenges. But then players would complain they don’t have to the time to complete them. So there’s no pleasing anyone. I really like the idea of unlocking legendary mods, because I have every other mod unlocked, and miss that sound effect when it would happen 😆

Anywhere should be fine, I just checked for you. I placed it up on the rocky outcrop section. So pretty close to where you see my turrets. There must have been a tent or another camp nearby on the server you were on
I got bloodied, quad, and two shot mod crafting plans only other mod i'm grinding for is explosive. Because i'll be building 2 guns that got removed from the legacy wipe a bloodied explosive harpoon gun and my bloodied explosive pepper shaker
Do you know if we can put explosive back on black powder type weapons? I’ve got a legacy dragon and this Bloodied Blunderbuss with faster reload but they removed the explosive effect.
great find. I don't think this is better than the almost always 3 star that you could reset every minute with out server hopping and if you did it with a teamate you could go even faster.

How on earth are you getting 58/hour? I find that with a full commando build (L300+), it's taking several minutes per squatch and hundreds of ammo. Have also tried heavy build, auto-axe, flamer, 50-cal, Red terror and several other weaps, and can't get anywhere near that rate (and that's without the time it takes to change server). Also, the 'squatch is utterly destroying my camp... everything destructible (whether it's behind walls or not) is getting utterly wiped out by them
I nearly deleted this when I found the answer, but thought it might help others.... food buffs are your friend! After grinding some mutant hounds in WestTek and making the appropriate tasty delicacy, this, along with a melee build meant the auto-axe shreds the squatch in seconds! Am sure there are other approaches that are equally effective, but this works for me!

@@ExcuseMyFrench. lookout for Eviction notice Public event. Most players marathon expeditions for legendary drops or encryptid for legendary modules. If you aren’t an endgame player yet, just stick to the public event cycle and lookout for nuke events. Try out out expeditions when you’re ready

18 script to just buy 1 star legendary weapons from the rusty pick that's what I have been doing. I scrap things i want to try and learn and turn the crap weapons and armor into normal amounts of script at the legendary machine. I have bought some 2 star weapons as well out of ten 2 stars i got a vampires explosive lazer rifle and a bloodied explosive plasma rifle i added the flamer barrel and pulse capacitor to the plasma rifle and it has a 300 round mag fires stupid fast does good damage and it has amazing range it says 48 range but it is much further than that.

I had a stockpile of 1 star and 3 star legendarys to scrap of bloodies and the game gave me nothing. I sent it a support ticket. Scrapping legendarys is bugged be careful everyone.
I am on pc and got 3 box mods, no plans, from mine. I scrapped a bunch of items but probably less than 100 total. Not sure how many. Yours may still be bugged, but the rates are super low.
@DauntlessX23 I tested it again after that first disaster it's very bugged my drops were fine for the first few mods everything was normal then a complete dead drop of rates literally nothing in a total of 60 scraps I'm devastated years of saving bloodies in my mules hoping to make use of them someday gone in just a minute.
They wouldn’t. They did this very intentionally and it’s not any faster than just playing the game. It’s just another way to farm that I wanted to highlight.

Scorchbeast have like a 33% chance of being legendary last I heard. But I might be wrong. This sheepsquatch is like… at least 80-90%. But I don’t think they will patch it. There’s nothing to fix. The commenter might be more upset with overlapping tents or camps. To that I’m not sure.
So yo get 1 legendary per kill on the sheepsquatch.... now time to make the kill, server hop and make the kill again... I assume this is what you mean with doing NOTHING else to get legendaries - so then you say you got 58 in 1 hour.... if this is ONLY what you did then I call you a liar... impossible to do this every minute - granted you could melt him quick but to then server hop and get back and make the kill again - cmon man - sometihng not tight here unless he dropping more than 1 legendary or you doing something else.
How long does it take you to load in and out of a server? That might have something to do with it. For me it’s about 25 seconds. Then 35 seconds to kill the sheep. It’s possible I miscounted but yeah around 50-60 1 stars is possible if you focus.
They messed up gun modding should have just let the rusty pick sell 1-3 star mod boxes just like how easy it is to find thoes stupid brown mod boxes all over should have replaced thoes for new mod layouts grinding would have been better for people new and old
Aaaaand it's patched. Been to this spot countless times in the last few hours. Now it just randomly spawns non legendary enemies. Mostly super mutants. No sheepsquatch. Nice will it lasted ffs.
@@RevivalDan Well for me it isn't working. First time I go there after leaving it a while it is a sheepsquatch there, but if I kill it and jump server that's when it's different enemies for me. Tried about 50 server hops, not one other sheepsquatch or legendary spawned.

Each star has its own chance. Your odds aren't worse. It's rare, but you could learn multiple plans or receive multiple boxes from the same item.

Also, IIRC lightning mod for auto axe deals better damage and DOT than the poison or fire, no?

I mean once you get on a server, look at places where you usually would find bubble heads and magazines. If there is plenty of them on the server, the odds of getting better stuff from the events or while crafting or scraping is higher.

Yup, been doing this all day between mutated events hit 40 on score scoreboard and jumped 15 levels and as you say in total I must have picked up 50+ legendaries. And since they nerfed the nukanades just cancel it out with the normal perks, buffs and switch leader bobblehead for explosive, the slight loss of XP is actually increased by the gain in killing most of the mutants with that extra explosive damage. (Don't forget to run like hell) increase even more by having a bloodied or instigating weapon equipt.
@@RobertRife-h6w yeah the nuka grenades seem to be less strong they still work for clearing them out quickly but still have a few stragglers to kill. I went hard at it yesterday intelligence up at 74, i just made rank 60 this morning

@@jaheem666 thank you! Well, I’m using a mix of missile turrets and heavy laser turrets (the Enclave skinned ones). They require power and I have wires attached connecting them all to the generator. Other than making sure they are facing the right direction, there isn’t a whole lot else to it! But, I’d be happy to walk you through it if you’re still wondering about something.

News flash. I scrapped over 1k legendary items on 5 characters and only learned 1 mod. This new system sucks
I learned a couple and didn't have near 1k
Sorry to rub it in, but I’m brand new to the game, scrapped about 40 legendaries and learned 2 mods.
I took six Deathclaw Hands and, with Super Duper and Scrapper equipped, crafted and scrapped Unstoppable Monsters over and over until I learned all three of the effects.
Took less than 20 minutes.

I have so luck. I scrapped only 4 and I learned bloodied mod. 😅
I scrapped 70 items only and learned anti-armor , quad, explosive, bloodied, vats enhanced, and vampires
i had buncha uny armors stashed up, turns out didnt need but just one to scrap and i learned it. Tried it with quad but no chance, burned through them like butter.
I had the same thing happen with medical malpractice. Learned medics first scrap. Nothing else the remaining 100 scraps. Disappointing to say the least. But I did manage to unlock overeaters so overall I am happy and got to upgrade the SS armor like I hoped.
I scrapped around 150 uny armors - no plan unlock, but at least two boxed mods ... I might just buy 1-star armors for 11 scrip each in the Purveyor legendary sale tomorrow to get more uny armors

@@RevivalDan The Purveyor sale is -25% and 1-star armor is by default 15 scrip which gets rounded down to 11 scrip. While doing this keep track of what you have already unlocked as you can use the scrip machine to get 3 scrip back instead of 1 scrip from scrapping. If you also need 2-star unlocks then 2-star armor is also good as it's 22 scrip - so same scrip per star ratio. 3-star armor costs 45 scrip with the sale discount.
@@crazy-tommy I have about 100 modules left and still haven’t unlocked vats optimized from medical malpractice. And around 3k scrip from my converted cores. Hopefully I get lucky and won’t need to spend scrip on too many modules for more MMs

You can apply the effect, but it does not enhance the damage on certain weapons like the gamma gum. No one really knows which ones it is supposed to work on?

This change is kind of a gimmick to get players to feel invested in the franchise. It's still a grind scrapping many items for one mod. It's a minimal change to a 5 year old game that desperately needs compelling content. Running around and doing challenges is a chore, not enjoyment, especially once you invested over 3oo hours exploring much of the game.
I desperately want more interesting and difficult challenges. But then players would complain they don’t have to the time to complete them. So there’s no pleasing anyone.
I really like the idea of unlocking legendary mods, because I have every other mod unlocked, and miss that sound effect when it would happen 😆
It's not a guaranteed legendary, the last 2 times I tried it was non-legendary.
I think it’s roughly 90% chance to be legendary. So you were unlucky

Anywhere should be fine, I just checked for you. I placed it up on the rocky outcrop section. So pretty close to where you see my turrets.

I got bloodied, quad, and two shot mod crafting plans only other mod i'm grinding for is explosive. Because i'll be building 2 guns that got removed from the legacy wipe a bloodied explosive harpoon gun and my bloodied explosive pepper shaker

How on earth are you getting 58/hour? I find that with a full commando build (L300+), it's taking several minutes per squatch and hundreds of ammo. Have also tried heavy build, auto-axe, flamer, 50-cal, Red terror and several other weaps, and can't get anywhere near that rate (and that's without the time it takes to change server). Also, the 'squatch is utterly destroying my camp... everything destructible (whether it's behind walls or not) is getting utterly wiped out by them
I nearly deleted this when I found the answer, but thought it might help others.... food buffs are your friend! After grinding some mutant hounds in WestTek and making the appropriate tasty delicacy, this, along with a melee build meant the auto-axe shreds the squatch in seconds! Am sure there are other approaches that are equally effective, but this works for me!

@@ExcuseMyFrench. lookout for Eviction notice Public event. Most players marathon expeditions for legendary drops or encryptid for legendary modules. If you aren’t an endgame player yet, just stick to the public event cycle and lookout for nuke events. Try out out expeditions when you’re ready

18 script to just buy 1 star legendary weapons from the rusty pick that's what I have been doing. I scrap things i want to try and learn and turn the crap weapons and armor into normal amounts of script at the legendary machine. I have bought some 2 star weapons as well out of ten 2 stars i got a vampires explosive lazer rifle and a bloodied explosive plasma rifle i added the flamer barrel and pulse capacitor to the plasma rifle and it has a 300 round mag fires stupid fast does good damage and it has amazing range it says 48 range but it is much further than that.

I had a stockpile of 1 star and 3 star legendarys to scrap of bloodies and the game gave me nothing. I sent it a support ticket. Scrapping legendarys is bugged be careful everyone.
I am on pc and got 3 box mods, no plans, from mine. I scrapped a bunch of items but probably less than 100 total. Not sure how many. Yours may still be bugged, but the rates are super low.
@DauntlessX23 I tested it again after that first disaster it's very bugged my drops were fine for the first few mods everything was normal then a complete dead drop of rates literally nothing in a total of 60 scraps I'm devastated years of saving bloodies in my mules hoping to make use of them someday gone in just a minute.

This was a great farming spot, until someone made a video about it...
Stop crying it wont be patched. it will remains as the ocassional legendary scorchbeast in the Fissure Sites.
Scorchbeast have like a 33% chance of being legendary last I heard. But I might be wrong. This sheepsquatch is like… at least 80-90%. But I don’t think they will patch it. There’s nothing to fix.
The commenter might be more upset with overlapping tents or camps. To that I’m not sure.

This was working for me well until yesterday. Looks like they might have patched this out. Sheepsquatch is still there but it's no longer legendary.
I just checked and it was legendary
So yo get 1 legendary per kill on the sheepsquatch.... now time to make the kill, server hop and make the kill again... I assume this is what you mean with doing NOTHING else to get legendaries - so then you say you got 58 in 1 hour.... if this is ONLY what you did then I call you a liar... impossible to do this every minute - granted you could melt him quick but to then server hop and get back and make the kill again - cmon man - sometihng not tight here unless he dropping more than 1 legendary or you doing something else.
How long does it take you to load in and out of a server? That might have something to do with it. For me it’s about 25 seconds. Then 35 seconds to kill the sheep. It’s possible I miscounted but yeah around 50-60 1 stars is possible if you focus.
The Weak spot on the Sheepsquatch is the head...Yeah...So original.
I’m wondering with all the combat changes they are doing, if any of the weak spots on enemies will change. Or have changed.

First time I go there after leaving it a while it is a sheepsquatch there, but if I kill it and jump server that's when it's different enemies for me. Tried about 50 server hops, not one other sheepsquatch or legendary spawned.
