1:10 bust out the solar panels because when it is not busy raining it is a good place to get power from the sun. I use portable panels, but people mount them on their houses for the same reason. You get good solar power here.
Growing up in Klamath Falls, where it was much colder than medford, it was a real treat going over to Medford, checking into a motel that had a swimming pool, and going to a great outdoor mall they have there.
Southwestern Oregon is alright for me, and I'm only temporarily living here for college until June of this year when I graduate. I vastly prefer the entire coast and Northwestern Oregon. I prefer the nature and towns over there.
It’s such a beautiful state for travel. If you have a good working vehicle this place is the place for you. It’s just because everything is so damn far from each other.
@@PROFESSIONALCRASHOUT I do have a car. I don't like how Medford and Ashland are 20 minutes apart. Medford has a mall, airport, stores with more specific things, and more common restaurants. In the Portland area, things aren't as remote from smaller towns and suburbs.
Very well-done video! Questions: 1) air quality: I've read many reports about poor air quality due to forest fires. 2) what is the wildfire risk in Medford and surrounding villages? 3) mosquitos: how bad is it in the mountains and generally on trails?
9:50 as a local who’s grown up here I’ve gotten around the different areas of town and I have to say I do love the way some of these places look. Like some of these buildings are really cool. I used to get impressed by the architecture when I was a youngster.
It’s an International Airport mainly for cargo and the ability to get freight in and out of customs. The airport is surrounded by duty-free zones. Going through customs here is a mush easier prospect than PDX or SEATAC or SFO.
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you love it here! The home repair businesses seem to be doing well and tend to correlate pretty closely with the real estate market. When more homes are sold, more are repaired, etc.
The biggest problem in Medford right now is that they are filling up all the remaining green, open spaces with clunky, boring, ugly apartment blocks. Or hideous, unneeded strip malls, like that McAndrews/Springbrook atrocity. Who on the Planning Board got paid off to approve that? Everybody I know is boycotting that place.
Great review! Been watching these for a while and started getting nervous of my decision to come work/live there (working in Ashland but living in Medford) until I saw your outlook. I plan on texting that number provided but in case other people have similar Q’s please answer whatever you’re comfortable with: -In my 30’s and looking for community -Looking for a local church (preferably one that preaches with apologetics/hermeneutics) -Intramural/club sports and their links -Youngish/conservative-ish bars, night life, activities (if that even exists) -Any thoughts on the Steward Meadows rental facility/location
Hello! Thank you for reaching out and please feel free to call or text me at 541-954-7758 when you're ready to chat. To answer a couple of your questions, I have included a link below for the Medford Parks & Rec website where you can find all sorts of info about various intramural sports. In regards to nightlife like you described, there are some nice places in downtown Medford like Jefferson Spirits and Beerworks that would be worth checking out. I don't have any experience with the Stewart Meadows rental facility but I know that general area is definitely growing and is pretty popular. Looking forward to hearing from you and helping you out! www.sportsmedford.com/home
I really think my husband and I would like to live here. Your airport seems convenient and all the beauty around is really what we want. thanks for the great video
I love Southern Oregon. However, my kids have been priced out of the area. It became unaffordable for the locals who have roots there thanks to all the California transplants.
How do you navigate the insane government and politics of Oregon? I live in Washington so it's just as bad. Id like to move down by Ashland or Brookings etc, but I feel like id be going from bad to worse
We're actually making a lot of progress in Oregon. The legalization of drug possession was just rolled back and my understanding is that people will now be arrested and given the choice of six months in jail or get treatment. That issue has been the big headliner. Aside from that, the politics are actually pretty middle-of-the-road because you have most of the local Southern Oregon (city & county) governments are much more conservative than the state government.
3:00 awww me and my sister go on these hikes all the time because they are short and sweet. If you want to go to table rock specifically, please remember that you cannot bring your dogs. Me and my sister were disappointed in that one time. The only location around where dogs aren’t allowed, we visited there lol. Everywhere else is fine unless stated otherwise. We use Roxy Ann peak now for our viewing experiences.
I was surprised by your obvious conservative religious values. Very similar to the values I'm trying to get away from in Texas. The fact you noted a preference for ONLY binary gender bathrooms, etc. Was a RED FLAG. Just say'n.
That's totally okay. Southern Oregon is full of people who care more about the character of others than their political opinions. We are fortunate to be in an area where friendships and relationships transcend political differences. Kind of like the way it used to be...but I know that may not be what some folks are looking for and that's okay too.

Fire smoke for long periods of time and they are progressing year after year.
Very imformative. Thanks. Live in Brookings and travel to the area on a frequent basis for medical.
Thank you for watching!
Brookings is so pretty
Thanks for the info. My wife and I drove thru there in 2015. We loved it. But, work keeps me here. How is the growth in the home repairs side?

@@baronofgreymatter14 yes, you can get a concealed carry permit in Oregon.
Hay dude, one of the reasons it's so nice here is it's not a well-known area of the US. Stop trying to destroy the Rogue Valley!
