I have tons of precision driver sets that I have purchased over the years, and I find that the tips are often the Achilles heel of these drivers, even on premium brands. So many of them are just too soft and shear off when you apply any reasonable amount of torque. Thanks for the video!

Those Ridgid have really worked out nicely for me never had a broken tip and I've taken apart tons of VCRs and hard drives Etc, I have worn tips out that's when I warrantied them and was surprised they replace them

Ace hardwares precision screw driver sets are the best for the $, and you get a lifetime warranty. If one breaks you can exchange it at any ace hardware because they also sell them individually.

I never thought much about precision screwdrivers until I tried the Wera version. Good video. Nice to see what else is out there.

    Hello,
I bought a Stanley precision screwdriver set for calculator.
It's head turns but feels loose, like some ball bearing, ( twirl head).
Is it like this or defective?people on Amazon says their screwdrivers were with lose head so exchanged it.
Also the screw drivers were oily.
    PLEASE help.
    Thank you.

Regarding the Marc1 and Helping Hand ones, is it normal for the black part to sometimes give/break from too much twist force, making it swivel around?

I love the Wiha comfort grip ones! The Weras are supposed to be very good too. Using them to work on PLCs and termination blocks.
The higher quality tips on the German ones help to not destroy the tiny screws on expensive things.
I'm looking at the insulated ones and will purchase those when my current Wihas wear out.

I do agree if you're actually working on optical equipment scientific equipment cameras then you really would want a very nice set

One tip, from experience: slow and steady works best. Doing anything “fast” is asking for cam out.

The Stanleys used to use the same case.
My first set has that case while the latest set has the other set.
I can't say they're the best, but my STANLEY's have been great especially considering their $4 price.

    • @CatusMaximus

Yes those Stanley's are cheesy but effective but I personally still like to traditional steel handle ones

I do to, but the STANLEY's always got the job done so I went ahead and picked up another set when I needed new precision screwdrivers.
One thing I also like about them is the stronger plastic used for the case.
Next time I need new ones I'm going to go for some US made drivers.

I have the same two yellow cased screwdrivers, but they're both Stanley. I also have the French made Stanley Fatmax, and they are better than the standard.

You should put a screw driver tip on an anvil. It would be serious quality,

In my experience with precision screwdrivers, I have found that they cannot handle much torque, with the handle with rotating while the tip remains stationary

I said screw it and bought the wiha full micro set. I don’t regret it.

I 'borrowed' a couple from my dad's set years ago and they have never failed to deliver.. I got a vessel long shaft set as well and it seems to be of similar quality
