This guy's pace and demeanor are so un-Minnesotan. He must have spent most of his time traveling because he's not at all typical...He should have pronounced the city names correctly.

The Bushwacker - You're from "up north" and call Minneapolis-St Paul "the cities." It's only people on TV that use the term "Twin Cities." The two are quite different. Minneapolis is flat and city-like. St. Paul is on the east side of the Mississippi, hilly, and has more of a small town feel.

When I heard him pronounce the town names I thought “this has to be satire.” Then I watched a little bit more and realized “Oh, gawd, he’s serious, isn’t he??” Some of that stuff is true, but it all sounds exaggerated. My grandmother from the town of Windom was the only person I ever knew who said “You betcha.”

Anyone who prefers MN to CAL is legit a Minnesotan in soul. The City name thing is a MN joke, to mess with someone 'nicely' about their town. South MN is a bit different. 'You Bet' not 'You Betcha'. South MN is German and Polish rooted, North is more Scandinavian. No Lutefisk in the South part. Its Walleye and no substitute down here. We love 'Fargo' just do not assume Fargo is in MN. Cohen Bros. are from MN. It was a joke. Swearing and being obnoxious in Public is VERY un-cool anywhere in MN. 36 years in MN, so Prince and Bob Dylan should also be respected. MN polite is real, be nice the weather is enough to deal with.

This was so accurate (except the pronunciations which you had to be doing on purpose to do so wrong). As a MN native who transplanted to Florida at age 40, I recognize and relate to everything. I didn't even realize they were quirks until I moved away! And you probably could have gone on for hours talking about Minnesotan quirks. That passion for tidiness. I remember a waitress in Illinois commenting that she could always tell when the diners were from MN because they always pre-bussed the tables! I still do to this day. Thanks for a quick trip down memory lane.

A note on "Uff da" from a Norwegian with a father who is a very frequent uff-da "user".
Uff-da is used as an interjection when you hear about something bad or negative. It is NEVER used as a "finisher".
Think of it as a "you have my sympathies - go on, tell me more".
    Example:
Me: "I was out driving earlier and I got a huge dent in my car..."
    Father: "uff da.."
Me: "Yea, this guy backed right into me"
    and so on.
    OK?!
