Yeah bro 100% you can and you can install from software manager. I was more trying to show how terminal works as a quick over view sometimes its the only way to do things like change paging file size etc. Its easy for us but some people have never used commands before so was hoping to show its not so hard...

I found similar results even on my desktop system running steams proton and some modern titles. atm I have had fun running Manjaro with a bunch of games and even doing stream tests using my Intel Arc 770 16gb card. the damn thing runs better on linux then it does on windows especially doing gaming and streams at the same time. amazing how far proton has come now as well and linux as a whole.
Thats the way I was thinking about dual booting my more modern PC to try it out since it runs so well and by the sound of that I might even get a boost as Windows 10 is so over-encumbered these days. Thanks mate!

rufus is good and all, but I have a even better sugestion! ventoy is an amazing little bootloader for your usb storage you can just put in any straight up iso on the device, as many as you can fit in and they won't interfere with each other, if you want, you can just put your iso and your important files if you want! the only exception is that windows no longer plays nice with ventoy at all, so you are stuck with rufus for that

Many of my games Run better on Linux, I have also tested some multiplayer games everything works I don't play Call of Duty or anything with the anti-cheat that causes issues though

This PC was bundled with Vista have you ever used Vista? Its trash and this PC is not compatible with XP the greatest OS ever crated so Linux is the best option for this build. If you're not using flatpak Steam, then games are relying on Mint's ancient LTS system dependencies which causes all sorts of problems with gaming. LTS distros are not for gaming. Two primary options are to swap to flatpak Steam which packages its own up to date dependencies, though can still have issues with the old Mint repos as the packages the flatpak system itself relies on will still be out of date, or you can swap to a non-LTS distro such as Fedora which keeps all the packages up to date by default.

It might be possible I never tried I perfer to use my Windows XP PC for old games anyways as it get full screen. This build is more for mame emulation it will run my arcade server nicely and fit well with the retro consoles that it houses as well i want one unit to compare console ports to arcade games will be a future video thanks for your advice!
instead of using an unsupported os to use a windows emulator layer to play, how about just running windows natively? u have more compatibility and runs better cuz u have are not running an emulator in the back with u playing a game! I have a low end pc(it has more than 16 years) I loved windows 7 but games now require windows 10, i tried some linux distros but they are no good for gaming, only for things like watch vids or check emails or write something. but for gaming is not there yet, alot of games dont run natively on linux, online games u have a big change of getting banned. soo just use windows 10, i been testing and games are faster on 10 than 7 btw...
This os is supported until 2025, you missed the point of the video. Linux beats Windows hand down for this computer and runs all my old af games that don't work in 10 or 11 the only problem with Linux is user error so if you want to use it do your research!

So far, I've learned that Arch based are annoying. I put Ubuntu on a 10 year old Mac and it worked great. Also, Ventoy is better than Rufus.
