- A fabulous weekend spent staying in a Camping Pod at the Abbey Echo Campsite in Llantysilio, North Wales - and a thoroughly enjoyable hike up into the Welsh hills to an old quarry and the site of the old mines winding shed.

Sorry for the late reply, we are on our jollies this week in mallorca, staying in the North of the island which has some fantastic hikes, so those videos will be up at some point! 😊 🌞👍. Was your daughter off anywhere nice? Our Welsh is the worst, noone murders the Welsh language quite like a scouser😂🙈. But we agree, we absolutely love Wales, particularly this area, it is so quiet and so scenic, Pete had lots of fun with the drone! Hope you have a great week,

Mid Feb, steps into Spring, wow, if only you had know what the next 2 months were going to be like, I have never known such a bad start to the year before but at least you did get a canny day. Oh I used to work at Abbey School and what a lovely setting for a campsite and some nice drone footage as well. Just as well you were trained professionals mind and yes, that was something indeed and some great views from there too. Shame about missing the sunset but well rewarded with the pub dinner at the end, cheers Alan

You are spot on there, we really didn't know what bad weather was to come! So much for the beginnings of spring in late February, we are still waiting for it to make an appearance in May! 😮🙈. Nevertheless, we were lucky to get a beautiful day for this hike. We love this area for walking, so scenic and not too far away from home for us. Pete had a lot of fun with the drone 😊. At least the run up the hill to for the failed sunset catch burned off some of the pub dinner 😂🙈. Abbey Farm is a lovely campsite, with loads of facilities, would be a great place to take the grandkids if you are ever in the area 👍.

Shots are stunning, full of life and beauty guys! This whole place is breathtaking and you had the whole trail to yourself it seems! Absolutely stunning and name was definitely a bit hard to pronounce! 😂
Thank you so much for such kind words Ervin 😊🙌. We so appreciate you stopping by. The Welsh language is super hard to pronounce, luckily we have a lot of Welsh friends to do that for us😊👌. This is a gorgeous area for walking, and is not too far to travel from our home. And we did have the trail all to ourselves, perfect 😊👌🌄.

Ah, the O.B’s in lovely north Wales…haha, we were shouting the name at the screen then you gave us a shout out…cheers both, big grins here. Now, we’re not really familiar with Llantysilio, so really enjoying this. What beautiful views!!! We didn’t quite realise exactly where it is in relation to Dinas Bran, you have made us want to visit. You’re staying near Valle Crucis, it’s beautiful…UFO hot spot, excellent!! Loving the drone shots of the abbey. Rach worked on a short film a few years back that was filmed there and on Dinas Bran, I’ll have to find the link and send it you. Never knew about the tram and winching station, very cool!!’ We don’t know any of this history, great to learn something new. We had no idea about this quarry, we need to check it out. Those views really are stunning and loving the slate sculpture. Again, lovely drone footage and light. Heading to the pub for dinner, is that the Chain Bridge we wonder? Leg it up the steep side? You crazy fools. Shame about missing the sunset but it’s still beautiful. Ah, ok, Abbey Grange pub, don’t think we’ve been there, we’ll have to check it out. We really enjoyed that both!!! If you’re in that neck of the woods again, give us a shout, we’re only half hour away. Loved this x

We have tried to get better at Welsh pronunciation since watching your video guide! But we are still pretty rubbish, there is something about the scouse accent and the Welsh language that is a doomed combination 😂🙈. Llantysilio is such a gorgeous area for walking guys, you would absolutely love it, and we are sure you would provide a lot more of the history than we could Rach 👌. Oh yes defo send us the link for the Dinas Bran short film, we would love to watch that 🏰👍. We did visit the chainbridge for a pint while we were away (our absolute fave ❤🍻). But decided on the Abbey Grange as it was close to the campsite. The Abbey Grange is quite an experience if you ever get the chance to visit, we affectionately call it 'faulty towers'😂. We will let you see for yourselves why, but we absolutely love it there, and they serve their own beers too brewed on site. The llangollen lager is a winner 🍻👍. Ah we are gutted, didn't realise you guys lived so close, we could have met up for that pint at the chainbridge! Never mind, next time! And hopefully in the sun! We visit this area quite often as it is fabulous for walking and isn't too far from home👍. Thanks for watching and for your lovely comments guys, appreciated as always.

We hope you are enjoying your time on mull, and the weather has held? We are away ourselves this week hiking in the North of mallorca, absolutely stunning !😍. We really were lucky to get such a beautiful day for this walk, especially considering all the bad weather that came after! This is one of our favourite areas in Wales to hike, it is so scenic, and relatively quiet too. Yes we agree, the winding shed is similar to honnister!👍. Think you will have to get on revolution race's website and buy Sue a pressie Dave! 😊.
