    Ah, 2 videos behind. So sorry guys, been mad busy as always. This one tonight and the next tomorrow. Lovely voice over at the beginning, not so sure about the pouring down rain. Glad you got a good sleep though! You looked so enthusiastic to do the trail Shell 😂. Good dental advice to the kids there!! I don’t think we’d ever do camping like that, but it genuinely looks idyllic. Waking up in the woods in the middle of nowhere then starting off the day’s adventure, very cool! Love the door gate pallet bridge!!! It certainly seems to be well signed though. The mud looks rubbish! Nice one Wendy….very Famous Five. Rach says Wendy is ace (that was her mum’s name). Really love the No No seats and note pads, what a lovely idea and what a lovely view. Loving that woodland, very mystical and relaxing. Yep, less cows any day of the week!!! Ooh, you weren’t wrong about the rain, we love that torrential rain doesn’t phase you or compromise your upbeatness (if that’s a word) and positivity. Glad Dougal is still showing his support. Mmm caramel doughnuts!!! You both look knacketed, Rach says she would be very grumpy by that point, and we ain’t going anywhere near those cows!! Ooh, watch out for the electric fence 😂. Mmmm Galaxy!!! Tiredness and boggy cow filled fields aside, it does look lovely there by the river. Camp site or warm bed and shower, I know what gets our vote. Ah, we’d pass on that camp site too!! Come on guys, we’re rooting for you, and nice one Shell, it’s an adventure that you’ll look back on and have a good story to tell! Go on both, you can do it!!! Loving that graveyard, very atmospheric. Love the skull and cross bones…pirates!!!! Wow, loved the badger. Jeez guys, 11pm and 2 days walking in 1. Well us 2 have made it this far, and we want to send you over some Compeeds!! Fair play, that was some hike, hope you got your warm bed and shower. Can’t wait to watch the next one tomorrow. We really loved that!!! Top work x

    Well I have to say that this series and your long distance hike was brilliant. Had us enthralled the whole way through. Day three was just the craziest and it was brilliant to see how quickly you recovered to get this final section done. Considering the rubbish weather conditions and the poor path conditions you both did brilliantly.👏👏👏👍👍 And then the tribute to your Mum, Shell, had us both in bits. She would be so very proud of what you’ve achieved, and so wonderful that you dedicated this walk to her. Just loved this Pete and Shell. Keep going guys and see you on the next one PS - I bet them beers tasted good 😃

    Typical, the rain stops just as you got packed up....those fields you had to walk though looked tough and wet going and loved the Nono tradition. Less cows sounds the best route too me, especially with the bonus of great scenery and you had to mention dark clouds lol. I think lunch was as good as you could have expected and with heavy backpacks the hips don't lie! Wow, I think bushed was an understatement, you both looked absolutely knackered, even the cows were showing their concern. What a hike that was and just as well you did join Shell when you did after the graveyard, it looks like she was just about on her knees and yes, even the local badger was getting concern too. Two days in one, I think I would have needed that extra day with my feet up recovering and yes, I did make it that far. I would have loved to have seen your expressions when you hit that bothy and flopped into bed, I bet it was heaven, cheers Alan

    • @o.bsoutdoors3871
      @o.bsoutdoors3871 16 часов назад

      Hi Alan, You're not wrong, this trail is no longer maintained, so it is quite overgrown in places, and the long wet grass over uneven and boggy terrain soaked our feet! 😕. At least the rain went off for the first part of the day👍. Nos Nos seat has become a bit of a tradition for those doing the annandale way, it was a highlight for us, we love quirky things like that👍. Lunch was much needed and a nice spot. Our hips were aching, not something we have experienced before 😂🙈. Those cows were super scary! We thought they were going to jump the fence and stampede us at one point 😮🐮. Think this was the most exhausting day we have ever had, we were absolutely spent by the time we reached mile 24 after dark🥴. A day we will remember forever for sure!😊👌. The badger encounter was really special, and came so close to the finish line, we felt like it was nature's reward for pushing on🦡❤. We have never been so grateful to crawl into a warm bed back at the bothy, you are right, it was heaven! 😊. Thanks very much for watching, We hope you and Mrs metalman are fully recovered, and have a fantastic weekend All the best, Pete and Shell 😊👊👍

    That looked very tough you two!! Gosh that is an underused path isn’t it. Loved that first bridge 😃 How cool to be given some Orange Juice and biscuits from Wendy. And Nono’s seat is a beautiful touch. But now see the ways those cows crept up on you! 😃 Love the way the route crosses the river. Surprised that the route splits for a bit though. Love that the route has a lot of woodland paths. 😍 Absolute nightmare that you couldn’t find a campsite - you both looked totally shattered!! Oh no that campsite looked awful. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Amazing that you kept going - just brilliant. What a huge day that was but just proved to yourselves what you can do. Probably best to avoid camping at the graveyard! 😃😃 So so cool to see that Badger at the end. Flippin heck I am knackered just watching that! Just brilliant you two. An amazing watch! Phew!! 😳

      Hi Dave and Sue, Hope you are both well, we caught up on your Boss video last night, will head over to add a comment shortly 😊👊👍. This trail is very underused and isn't really maintained anymore, the up side of that is that we practically had it to ourselves, the down side being lots of bracken bashing and wet feet cutting through all the wet grass and bog🫣😆. Wendy was a legend! What a lovely lady, she told us she use to hike with her husband, and often the depended on the kindness of others 😊. Nos Nos seat has become a bit of a tradition for those doing the annandale way, it was a highlight for us, we love quirky things like that👍. Those cows were super scary! We thought they were going to jump the fence and stampede us at one point 😮🐮. Yes that noisy campsite definitely not for us! We would rather hike 24 miles instead😂. Think this was the most exhausting day we have ever had, we were absolutely spent by the time we reached mile 24 after dark🥴. But we kept smiling,hard not to when we were having such an adventure! A day we will remember forever😊👌. The badger encounter was really special, and came so close to the finish line, we felt like it was nature's reward for pushing on🦡❤. Also we were so surprised by how big they were, this one was the size of a medium sized dog! Thanks very much for watching, We hope you are almost ready for your European travels🤩 All the best, Pete and Shell 😊👊👍

We were on a really busy one with lots of kids (first time we’ve done that) and we were surprised about the good atmosphere there. I think it depends on the owners - some just take the money and couldn’t care less! And some want to make it a good experience for everyone. The staff in Norfolk were absolutely brilliant. Oo dear guys raining all night, we have been there many times but its water therapy 😃as long as there is no wind ! It is so hard packing away in the rain though. What a great forest track, so quiet and lovely where you walked through farmland, shame about the bogs and uneven ground though but so kind of Wendy to give you not only water but juice and biscuits too. Loved how Norman had the notebook to write and advertise in and near the cute cows and singing birds 😃 Great footage of that massive herd of cows but sad they stopped you from getting a camp spot and that electric fence whoh... 😯 Pete mentioning caramel doughnuts and a big galaxy made me want some now ! The River Annan was full and flowing so nice, shame that the campsite had screaming kids and noisy music, we would have walked in and back out again too ! The graveyard remains were lovely to see from the Church that used to be there. That badger was adorable. Wow nearly 25 miles walking is a lot for one day but like you said, you got further on the trail. That was an epic day and great to watch 😃👍~ Anna

    Much better weather but I suppose the trade off was the bigger, heavier packs and as far as gardens ornaments go that spitfire would be hard to beat! Nice to find a bench with a view like that and shame there was not another one for your lunch stop but the views were just as good. That looked like a great little camping spot to me, plenty of shelter and it was like watching MasterChef with that evening cooking. Looks like you hit the sack just in time, nothing worse than wet clothes, especially in a tent, cheers Alan

We do love a good bench, like your good self and Mrs metalman 😊👌. And what a camp it was, that pitch in the woodland was just magical. It did turn out to be a bit of an epic day the following day mind 😂🙈. Stay tuned to find out this evening on our next upload! So handy to have the big white markers, really important to see the way. Shame about the hidden bog, have to be soo careful in that, we have had scary incidents... It looked so peaceful as you walked along that forest path until those fast cars came along ! We always say that sheep are good to see when in the country. Loved your camp spot , the sleeping bags sound nice and light and Dougal was already asleep after a long day! Water shoes are a great idea to give your feet a break and breathe and I liked that titanium pot, been thinking of getting one ourselves. Ooo dinner looked good, like Pete said bushcraft cooking 😃 That looked great though hard and another day done, really enjoyed that. Hope the weather was better the next day 🙂👍~ Anna

      Hi Anna, The spitfire is amazing isn't it! We visit it every time we are in Moffat! We think this was our favourite day on trail, the weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! We love seeing the sheep when we are out and about too, they are so comical 🐑😊. That bench was a very welcome sight for a spot of lunch 😋. And what a camp it was, that pitch in the woodland was just magical. We can recommend the titanium pot👍. And our camp meals were delicious 😋. We sat there for a couple of hours looking into the dark woodland trying to see if we could spot anything, but not this time. Glad we rested our feet in the water shoes, as It turned out to be a bit of an epic day the following day 😂🙈. Stay tuned to find out next week! Thanks so much for watching, and for your lovely comments as always, it is really appreciated. Have a fabulous weekend, We hope you are off on your camping adventures again soon!🤞 Shell and Pete 😊👊👍

    Brilliant leg Pete from the spitfire in the garden 😮 to the perfect camp pitch ⛺️wow what a great hike (signage definitely looked good ) bad missing signs can really spoil a walk there mixed territory But a great day 🤠👌🏻 Best wishes to Shell 👍 Simon 🤠👍🏔️

      Hi Simon 😊 👋, The spitfire is amazing isn't it! We visit it every time we are in Moffat! We think this was our favourite day on trail, the weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! And what a camp it was, that pitch in the woodland was just magical. The signage really was excellent, we believe the way isn't maintained these days and has become quite overgrown in places, but we still had no problems navigating it as the signs were so good throughout👍. It turned out to be a bit of an epic day the following day 😂🙈. Stay tuned to find out next week! Thanks so much for watching, and for your lovely comments as always, it is really appreciated. Have a fabulous weekend, Pete and Shell😊👊👍

    Hey both, ah yes, the devil’s beef tub, forgot about that 😂. Looking forward to day 2! Blimey, they’re big packs!! Wow, the spitfire is very cool, the most interesting thing we have in a garden near us is a full size plastic Elvis 😂. That looks beautiful, so far, fairly flat, yep, we’re good so far!!! And now the climb….stunning though, ah, a well timed bench. The posts are a great idea, the amount of times we’ve wandered off a track. Now we’re talking, food time with dougal!! How many miles already?? I reckon we could do this one so far but not with those packs!! I’d run across that road, never mind jog with those overtaking idiots!! Lovely camping spot, love that quiet section. £2.99 water shoes, very cool, we have something similar! Food looks great, don’t forget to add the cheese! Well done for day 2. We really enjoyed that. When are you off to Kefalonia? You will have the best time!! Do you know of the story, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin? It’s a lovely book and film, set in Kefalonia. When you get back, we must make that drink happen at some point this year!!! Nice one guys x

      Hey Rach and Wills, The spitfire is amazing isn't it! We visit it every time we are in Moffat! Us Brits do put strange things in our gardens don't we, a full size elvis is a new one on us, although we did see a life-size gorilla in a front garden in the lakes a few weeks ago 😂🦍. We think this was our favourite day on trail, the weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! Dougal enjoyed it even more as he was carried the whole way 😂🐏👌. That bench was a very welcome sight for a spot of lunch 😋. And what a camp it was, that pitch in the woodland was just magical. And our camp meals were delicious 😋. Glad we rested our feet in the water shoes, as It turned out to be a bit of an epic day the following day 😂🙈. Stay tuned to find out next week! We are off to Kefalonia next month, hopefully when it isn't so hot over there so we can explore, soo excited! 🤩. We keep saying we must watch Captain Corelli's Mandolin before we go, it is supposed to be a brilliant film and will be fun to see the beautiful Kefalonia too! Ah we must sort out a meet up this year guys! Would-be so good to meet you two lovely humans 😊🍻. Thanks so much for watching, and for your lovely comments as always, it is really appreciated. We hope you are having a fabulous weekend, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍

    Hi Shell, Hi Pete, what a wonderful looking trail. It reminds me very much of day 5 on the Cumbria Way. A lovely stroll through rolling countryside. Those Wayfarer meals are really nice. I had the chicken curry one on my camp on Tuesday evening, absolutely loved it and the bonus is the water then doubles up to make a brew! Haha Loved watching your adventure, keep it up Have a great weekdnd all the best Dave

      Hi Dave, Ah we did the brew trick with the camp meal water too, waste not want not 😂👍☕️. We think this was our favourite day on trail. The weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows and then through the forests was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! 😊. The camp in the woodland wag also pretty special. The Cumbria way is still on to do list, it looks amazing! We are working our way up to that 😂🤞. Thanks very much for watching and your great comments. Have a brilliant weekend, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍

    Wonderful again I cannot believe that someone has a full sized replica Spitfire in their front garden!! 😍 The views from that bench. Awesome! 😍 What a lunch stop - love it how you’re trekking with your lightweight chairs. How cool is that! Beautiful woodland - and great place for a pitch! Good that the rain didn’t hit before you pitched. Can’t beat a square of cheese Jamie Oliver style 😃 I bet there was a load of wildlife around you in the night there. Another good day guys. Hope that weather isn’t too bad the next day. 😨 Another great and fascinating vlog you two. 👍

      Hi Dave and Sue 😊👋, The spitfire is amazing isn't it! We visit it every time we are in Moffat, as you know we love them as much as you guys do 🛩❤. We think this was our favourite day on trail, the weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! We love our chairs! Worth the weight to carry them, to be able to have a proper sit down with back support at camp. And what a camp it was, that pitch in the woodland was just magical. We sat there for a couple of hours looking into the dark woodland trying to see if we could spot anything, but not this time. We bet if we had had a trail cam it would have picked up lots of wildlife for sure 🤩. It turned out to be a bit of an epic day the following day 😂🙈. Stay tuned to find out next week! Thanks so much for watching, and for your lovely comments as always guys, it is really appreciated. Have a fabulous weekend, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍

      Ah thank you Ervin, We are very pleased with our new logo too, it was designed and created for us by a talented young lady named Cait Bell. I will be sharing her details in a community post shortly 🤩🙌. The meadows with the thousands of yellow buttercups were a joy to walk through 🌼🌿. We think this was our favourite day on trail. The woodland camp was just magical! Thank you so much for your kind comments, we really appreciate them 😊👊. Have a wonderful weekend, Shell and Pete0😊👊👍

    • @o.bsoutdoors3871
      @o.bsoutdoors3871 13 дней назад

      Hi Ken, Can't say we have ever found a body😂. But we have come across quite a few deceased animals on trail, lots of sheep, once saw a decreased owl which was upsetting. The strangest thing we have ever happened upon was what looked like some kind of pagan alter in the woods, with lots of skull ornaments placed on it. We didn't hang around long enough to film it!😱

  • @kennethfinnegan2978

    Do you have to get city or town approval to put a Spitfire on your front lawn? 🤣😂

    • @o.bsoutdoors3871
      @o.bsoutdoors3871 13 дней назад

      Hahaha, we don't think you do!😂. Guess it is just classed as a huge garden ornament🙈. Us Brits do put some strange things in our gardens. We were walking in the lake district last year and walked by a house with a life size gorilla ornament in their garden!😂🦍

    • @o.bsoutdoors3871
      @o.bsoutdoors3871 13 дней назад

      Ah thanks Ken, we try our best to stay fit and healthy 😊. Pete's pack weighed in at 18kg so around 40lbs, and mine was 15kg so around 34lbs. Carrying most of the weight around the hip belt helped a lot, although we ached for days after the hike, so perhaps we aren't that fit after all😂🙈. Thanks so much for watching and for your great comments. All the best, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍

    "We are expecting rain".....sits here rubbing hands😁 and didn't have to wait long for the 'Scotch Mist'. Nice looking bench and trigpoint, shame about the view mind. Quite a religious anointing at the source of the Annan and a long walk back not in the best of conditions either but those horses must have lifted the spirits. I bet if was great to see Moffat again and even better - the fish shop still open, cheers Alan

      Hi Alan, We were soo excited to find the source! It was great to see a monument there to mark it, it really is crazy how quickly it grew and gained pace from that tiny trickle, even in this first section of the trail. The scotch mist was quite an experience! Had us soaked through 😂🙈 🌧. But still a great day was had, with lots more adventure to come🙌. The horses were absolutely beautiful and in such lovely condition, always lifts our spirits to be around animals ❤. The fish and chips was much needed and delicious! 😋. We really do love Moffat. Thanks as always for your lovely comments, and for stopping by, Have a fabulous weekend, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍
