Hi RM K. This is GMK. Nice bike! I was torn between the new GSA (just like you have it) and the RT but for the primary type of riding I am planning, the RT is the way I will eventually go. I will miss not having a TFT display but the tradeoff is I'll have luggage capacity as standard equipment. But if I had gone to the GSA, I would have bought one just like yours. Enjoy the ride!
G'Day GMK...!!!, I'm lucky that I also have the K1600 GT Sport in the stable so when it comes to long touring rides, the K16 fits the bill every-time with the luggage and standard equipment although there's nothing standard about the equipment on a K16 - loving the new girl in my life and appreciate the comments, safe riding on the RT... :)
OldManTony I believe the TFT can operate on its own without the navs which includes directions, and yes have experimented with it thus far which operates from the Connectivity app
Personally, I still prefer the white w/ red accent paint on my GS. The blue is OK but does not pop like that red frame did. The new TFT screen? Why does BMW NOT incorporate the nav system into it? Or do they? Ideally, BMW would utilize the google earth maps into it's new system, or dod they?
Edysin Simon I did like the red with the ES logo I had on my 2016 model but the blue is also special. TFT is suburb and does use a SatNav incorporated into the screen using the BMW “Connect” app but have only tried this once 🤫😃
AG Coarseman our Police Motorcycles here in Australia are white Yamaha FJR’s so my adventure bike would never be confused, even with Hi-Vis, as a Police bike 😁😱👍

Interesting question as I just don't know BUT I will be doing another vlog on the new TFT and will try to answer this very question for you (also may need to read the manual...!!!), so keep an eye out for the next vlog in approx. 2 - 3 weeks
Yes seriously, really seriously and the reasons for not buying was the following - the Telelever Suspension on the GSA's front end is just superb and has a minimal dive on hard braking. The active suspension and new electronic's package on the 2018 model in my opinion is the best in this class including the 5 way axis ABS - works incredibly well and provides such great feedback that I didn't get with the KTM. The new SatNav & TFT integration is as good as my 2017 BMW X5M which is, on a motor vehicle, one of the best systems to use. And the most important deal breaker was the comfort of the GSA, I have back issues due to many extreme sport accidents and the GSA was very gentle on my back - Note: I did also ride the Triumph 1200 Explorer and it nearly killed me with pain, the seat was hard, suspension was not forgiving and pegs were positioned further back and after 2 hours I just couldn't ride the bike and had to lay on the tank while riding to make it back to the dealer - NOT Good. So thats it, hope this has helped and ride safe - Cheers...
Jeb you do realise motorcycles are designed to be waterproof, that is all the electrical systems including the computer are build to withstand water, not total emersion like riding into a lake and sinking the bike, but getting wet...
Midhun #007 yes the S1000 engine would be awesome in this bike it was never designed or built for outright speed but endurance and off road capabilities

I would mount the 2 side fog lights higher, at that low level rocks will hit them.
