Another good video Turtle. I see a lot of people skip turrets or say that they don't target enemies. Something that I learned about turrets back at launch is that spotlights have a significantly longer range than turrets for noticing enemies. Once the spotlight has "painted" an enemy it shares that sight with nearby turrets, allowing them to attack things outside the range they normally would.
Oh wow .that is great advice.
they are bugged though at this moment. This started since January. They do not protect CAMPS and do not attack enemies unless the players are being attacked. I hope they fix this soon. Also I stopped taking workshops because they are PVP oriented regardless if you are pacifist on or not. There is people that only target occupied workshops for the sake of forbidding you to take them. So farming them is only useful in Private Worlds as you avoid the griefers.
@@johnnatandcI have my camp at the whitesprings golf course (ps5) and they constantly attack enemies from far off, usually before I know they’re there.
@StationroadRatrods my camp has been more than once destroyed while I was away because the turrets failed to do their job
Thank you. New to the game and this helps
Farm like pro= buy fallout first. Go to your private server and claim all workshops you can. Build the extractors. Put a rubber band on your joystick. Go smoke a bowl. By the time you come back you’ll have resources. Then you can go to every location you claimed and gather resources
Yeah that would be great but if I take over more than 1 workshop my app crashes. Then when I come back the game acts like i never took over any of them
Great guide, but a suggestion on defensive structures: Paired spike boards.
They're great against molerats and other animal type enemies, as they rarely attack them and will happily stand on them to attack other objects. If you pair the boards they'll constantly take damage from the hit-boxes alternating their damage instances. You can put them parallel to your walls, or in more complex structures to optimize damage:area ratios.
The level of effort might seem daunting at first, but it's kind of fun to figure out the rules.
Also a good reason to take the time to repair the power plant is exp, items, event reward items, or and the power plants can be used to power the whole workshop So thats generators you dont have to build. Which save you on resources in the long run.
Also also. Never worry about the workshop events unless you are looking for something particular. The workshop works even if you dont own it. As long as its been build up. Then all you have to do is a quick smash and grab at them
So interesting fact about the power plant quests, not only do you get increased power generation at the workshop but you also get increased power generation from the substations of the power plant. Not many people know but you can actually hook up to the power plant power grid when you build a camp at the substations and those connection points have increased power when the power plant is powered up.
I only claim junkyarks because they are quick and easy to claim, and are convenient fast travel points. Also to convince more advanced players that I'm a poor scrapper trying to survive on garbage. Call it luck or pity, I've never been attacked.
The tip to have single-item blueprints for speed is worth the price of admission alone. Thanks!
I use a blueprint for a wooden floor as a base with two solar power generators connected together with a turret on each facing away from each other. This is enough to power each extractor and defend them.
Me before watching this video: “Who would ever waste their time on these workshops?! They’re worthless!”
After watching this video: “ Oh, I gotta start doing this a lot. This is awesome!”
😂 Thank you again Turtle. 👍
I use almost the same ideas for fusion core farming small simple raised box with generators then turrets on defensive towers all blueprints can take and build a workshop in 5 mins, I sometimes power up the power station after I claim the workshop just because most are great for other resource scrap farming, plus the xp and free power for other workshops nearby if you want to claim 2 or 3 in the same area
Glad u explained the green and white resources. I always wanted to know about that.
@2:53 "BODY ONCE TOLD ME"
I remember when the game first came out and everyone was fighting for the ammo workshop,
Great guide! I wish I'd had this guide a long time ago as I had to figure it out the hard way.
But I even learned a couple of things.
Great job!
To your point on the sugar bombs being the non radiated version. I feel like they intended things like high end recipe ingredients to be rare. They never planned someone to have hundreds or thousands of berry mentats or magazines or... I agree with you about the usefulness but honestly I like things like this being hard or rare. Makes it easy to see who condones or participates in duping.
I know it is a bit self defeating, but I refuse to buy from obvious dupers. They have ruined so much of my precious time by crashing servers.
6:09 oh I like this one. I use a blueprint with the green bubble type tent it has a whole fusion generator in it with the connector tip sticking out top. The tent has crafting and useful buffs in it. I lock the front door with level zero so I can get you a wanted level
Very informative video. I often wondered what the green and white text meant. Thank you AT!
Hey, go mow minor got wet off gallons and thorne armor. I’m pretty sure they do still stack. He just can’t stack up by weeds from the thorn armor but you can get the boys from the mall liner gauntlet and avoid possibility from talent and a thorn armor delete all I want to. You can get free police going on. I believe Carey demonstrated that the job analytically at Southpoint that you were getting all three blades.
The power plants power 1/3 of the map if im not mistaken. The power pylons and other building have a power connector that can be used. Unless they changed this at some point over the last few months.
Excellent video! I learned several things, even after four years of playing. Thank you, Turtle.
Great to hear!
The price going up per item built- ahhhh! Mind blown.
Is there a list of plans that you potentially unlock from doing the workshops, besides the defences when you do it for the first time
The workshops in every server I join is empty, no one wants to waste resources on them just so a random player with PVP gear can easily take it over.
They’re not worth it, better finding a camp spot that has a resource extractor or just farming buying material
I always did the small workshop to get the initial gear drop when you completed it then I never went back to it lol, it's not really worth it lol
Even with my vast knowledge, I always, yes always, learn something new from you and your videos. You make the world a better place. Thanks.
I’ve done mt. Blare a couple of times and it’s just ok because you still need acid to craft the ore.
Another is to put down a power conduit ontop of a smaller object attach wire to it move it over atleast once and then you can move it again anywhere you want to hide it
I thought it would be a good idea to link camp power with the power plants. If the power plants are active all camps will have power regardless of power connections in the camp itself.
Dude that's genius. I'm gonna start blue printing
I can’t seem to place a collection on the top level. It always says it needs support. Any tips to get it to attach in the power box you made?
@13:21 How do you get this spawn mat? I have this under 'Floor Decor' tab but not one under Misc tab.
every workshop can have one spawn mat
Nice video. Did you know those Defense Walls actually snap? At angles, too.
I know I always switch it off so I can actually place them without problem
What determines the amount of green free materials? Is it a base default amount or something else? What happens when I store workshop items? Do the stored items get added to the green free materials? Is there any point in storing workshop items at all?
3:35
*400 Power/Power Box
Base Power/Power Box is 10
Did you add vintage water cooler blueprints. I have them in the donut foundation. And popcorn is better than milk. Cause you can put 3 cows in workshops.
Be good for rad sugar bombs, but they could also add something u can combine to regular sugar bombs to make it rad sugar bombs.
Awesome video, thanks Turtle!
Hi can I ask you if you can test the artillery pice in fallout 76 but test and see if other players artillery will shot or help you out just like in fallout 4 does with the artillery I'm a support player and if my camps can help I would like to add that to my camp builds
The ark turret tower is amazing with the staircase
Hello! im just now getting into fallout 76 and was wondering what mod you used to make your inventory screen look the way it does ( I mean to where its on the left side of your screen!)
there are two views for pip boy no mods needed, for buttons pay attention to bottom of the pip boy screen
My luck and I take over Poseiden, set up 20 rocket, shotgun, laser and cryo turrets and Graham and Chally come along and the turrets went nuts on them. By the time I stored everything, he demolished the workshop with a super sledge!
If that workshop could produce rad sugar bombs it'd probably become the most fought over one in public lobbys haha
Poseidon Power Plant. That was quite difficult to clear when you do it solo. But it was a fun difficult challenge.
Off topic question, what are the other things that are showing under your health bar and the red icons under your ap bar?
Hes on chems and alcohol for the stuff under the ap bar
Just take the 15 minutes to power up the station. It helps everyone else out plus you get resources and caps from the defenders to replenish what you use to take the workshop and don't need to make any generators. Win-win-win!
Sooo, in the junkyard by the pick, i have gone under the map, and place the fast travel target low enough that it spawns you down there upon fast travel.... dude, i just realized i've never seen under the mt blair machine! Gotta go...❤
I'm just glad that nuka colas refresh every time you server hop ....... ive got a good stash ready for the next season start ...
Important is to say that when nuclear plant is powered it will power workshops in region.
great tips!
Wow impressive blueprints!
Can you share?
If you leave event in the menu after arriving, you can claim workshop.
ppl should grab paint rat poisen and those batteries gives lead
You should be able to drop clean sugar bombs in a nuke zone to irradiate them.
So is it like a camp? If I place down a bunch of stuff at the workshop and then when the workshop becomes unclaimed I lose all the builds?
I was wondering the same thing
@@JosephGeraldGlover Asnwer is yes. You lose it, BUT... you get a bunch of free resources for claiming the workshop that you can only use at the workshop.
1:58 I power up that machine and stupid at show up when I was only lvl 16
i just claim to get the claim reward (or the daily). you can take it after that, idc.
Same here. If I really need resources, I’ll log into a private world and go ham on workshops for a couple hours. Great advice to make that quicker though
Yeah man so many people don't realize that you can take these and then do the "defend workshop" quest that pops up to complete the daily quest challenge
They still haven’t “fixed” NukaCola collectrons. Place a Nuka collectron, select drugs and alcohol and you get drugs, alcohol and nuka colas. It’s the only one I’ve been able to work like this.
Love ya Mate...
Based on the cover foto yes I farm loot bags here.
I've given up on workshops since the game crashes so often that setting anything up is just wasting resources.
I’ve claimed so many but it’s seems like after a while it’s like I never claimed them at all idk what’s going on
Hi Turtle, i am watching Your last stream on Twitch and U are making tanky bloodied melee build and U skip chameleon mutation, i found out that it giving U 40DR witch Strange i numbers perk. One day i made Berserker and it mess up my build with this DR ;)
I will try!
Way back in beta days, wasn't there a quest to restore power to all the power plants that gave free power to the whole server.?
Also, doing all this and leave the server you loose everything right?
yep you can't leave
😂😂"dont ask me why. I didn't make those rules".
I really don't like workshops. I remember when a level 300 was stealing one from two level 20s so I took it back and gave it to them. The guy came back so I kept taking it from him to which he got a level 3000 friend to take it from me. I swear some people terminally play this game like it's all they have
And it's like there isn't 10 other unoccupied workshops on the server, right...?
👍
Learn something new everyday
Only in Fallout would someone complain about their sugar not being irradiated :P
:D I love this vid!
Molerats!
Yeah if you take a workshop on a public server. At least on PC and you don't have "AngryTurtle" name recognition expect someone to come through. Contest the workshop. Kill you. Take your loot bag. Needlessly break every item you've built. Talk some 12yr old trash and leave. Happens on 50% of servers at least.
I claim workshops a lot and hardly ever someone comes to PvP. But the first thing I always build is a Scrap Box to stash junk.
@@prince_julius I could care less about the junk. It's the need to break everything that's built. For no reason. the teabagging and the comments. Anyone who says this isn't commonplace either isn't on PC or doesn't play a lot.
On PS, not AS common as it used to, but definitely still happens regularly. Mostly only take to build challenge stuff, or finish event in "x" region in a hurry, but still take a bit of hassle.
Just got killed by a guy who took my workshop the other day and then he proceeded to tea bag me. He was using a Quad railway rifle and I was using a Quad Tesla as that's my tagging weapon and I couldn't be bothered to swap my entire build out. Funny thing is, I got the jump on him every single time with my automatic Tesla and was holding down the trigger on him just to let him know I caught him slippin every single time until he would eventually see me and vats me with his railway. I was tempted to pull out my q50c25ap railway and give him a spanking but it was double xp weekend and I was more worried about claiming other workshops for the Santatron and farming XP & it would have required way too much work. This games PvP is terrible, it all comes down to what gear you have and its a PITA to swap your whole build around for one person. Dude would have got rolled if I brought my railway out as he had absolutely no situational awareness
When Borat teaches things....
Well I think assuming a beginner to have resources and blueprint for nuclear power plant available so that this Poseidon power plant tips works is not very realistic
thanks borat
I get enough loot doing daylies
My name ah borat!
Where are you from turtle?
Yooo
when you have 500k lead and 300k acid you good 😂
I've got 8 million Ballistic Fiber lol. Even that isn't that much though, I know some people that have hundreds of millions of different scrap types, bobble heads, magazines, etc. All legit of course Lol
Tldr for the new players = Workshops are PvP areas. Always stash your junk. Get first. Praise Tom. I don't care if you don't PVP, your in a PvP area.
❤🐢
60k copper for my alien blaster ammo
You don't get xp from turret kills
and then you're immediately disconnected
that wont work on the sugar bombs. If they changed it EVERYone will want that workshop..let the fighting ensue!
the junk you are getting is very low , workshops are useless . why would i wait for hours for some copper where i can buy instantly in bulk from robot vendors
I absolutely love going to workshops and robbing the poor sob who thought it be a good idea to build up the workshop.
Had one guy tell me I stole 4 hours worth of item farming from him, sounded like he was about to cry.
Don't go to workshops, theres better ways to farm junk
