The smallmouth fishing has come a long way from what I'm told. I haven't fished the area long enough to note a difference but some of my older friends are blown away by the quality you can find around Chicago.
Shared this one with a couple of smallmouth groups I follow on Facebook, figured a few more people seeing the good action on the water wouldn't hurt 🎣 keep after em bud
Can I ask about where your your fishing? I live in Milwaukee,Wisconsin. I know there’s smallmouth here I’ve caught a few fish from shore. I now have a 14 ft. basic fishing boat and hope to learn from you how to find bass with so much water to search.
Any harbor that has submerged breakwall or other kind of rock will hold smallmouth nearly all year. I fish almost all of the harbors around Chicago and also seek out breakwall on other parts of the lake. Take a look at the satellite map and you'll be able to locate a ton of breakwall both in and out of the harbors.
Have You Fished The Fox River? Kinda Want To Try Fishing There Since I Just Moved Around Area Surrounding That River, Not Really Confident With River Fishing Dont Get Any Luck
@@RivermanTV- The Fox isn't too hard to figure out. Find areas with current seams and boulders and you'll find all sorts of fish. Your best bet is to go wading rather than trying from a yak for your 1st time out. Once you know what types of areas hold fish, you'll be able to duplicate things throughout the river.
Insane smallie action, great video man
Appreciate it!
Another classic Smallie slaying! Great job with a very instructive video
Somebody's gotta get out there to smack em around a bit
Excellent fish! I grew up in that area and used to fish there in the early 2000s. Cool to see those areas producing like that!

what a fantastic video!! I live in Madison and this has given me to itch to get a kayak and get after it!!
Thanks! Get out there and hammer 'em! 👊
Another great video! You have a nice balance between Greg and NDYakAngler with a higher quality of content and artistry.
That's high praise! Thanks a ton.
Some nice looking footballs
It's definitely that time of year!
Great vid, man! Appreciate you sharing techniques and baits. Wonder about the dramamine dose needed. :) Thanks tons for sharing.
No Dramamine needed on my end! I've been out in rougher conditions than that and have never had a problem, luckily. Thanks for the support 👊
I would say u have great netting skills
I'm a quick learner 😉

I've only fished it a couple times and it's not my favorite place. It can definitely be tough and takes some time to learn from what I can tell.
