  • This is an update video on 2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit Police package! I’ve owned the car for well over 4 years and in this windy, rambling video I give an update on the car. Truthfully it’s a wonderful and it’s been one of the best cars I’ve ever owned.

    This channel has been very informative. About to trade my 2013 FPIU for a 2014 5.7L v8 hemi RWD charger. Excited to start a new journey with it and hope to get this long of a time with it.

    Thanks for these videos, I've been looking for something with AWD and these police cars caught my eye. Think I'm going to go check a few out on my next day off since my trade in value on my car is a good chunk above what I owe. Hoping I can find a decent one to make my new daily.

    These cars are amazing and the fact that the police did there maintenance on it really pays off, i have a 14 charger ex florida highway patrol 5.7 hemi and it amazes me everyday, i love it id really recommend getting one, theyre cheap and just simply fun, i just hit 197,000 and dont have major problems, dont believe i have any problems to be honest and thank god i dont. Some stuff is a bit worn out like my front right shock but again what do you expect from a 197k mile car? love it regardless and the mean exhaust i have on it is amazing, if you guys wanna scream american muscle id recommend doing a full straight pipe, no cats, no mufflers and no res, with a 3in pipe out into a 5in tip.

    • @wjye
      @wjye  2 года назад

      Glad you like your car! Personally straight pipes are just too loud for me. I live in the city and that setup would wake my whole neighborhood up. Plus catless would fail inspection here too. My flowmaster kit was fairly loud and sounded fantastic without bugging anyone or getting police attention lol I’ve got a video of my Chargers flowmaster set up on here if you wanted to hear it.

    hey man Im back! Glad to see your back! i have a few questions i need your help on if you would! going to buy a 2014 charger police next monday! it has 6k idle hrs and 10k engine hours with 92k miles! is the engine hours something i need to worry about? how many idle and engine hours does your car
    have?

    • @wjye
      @wjye  2 года назад

      6k idle hours is about the higher end of average for cop car idle hours. 10k total engine hours with only 92k miles, tells me it may have been driven at lower speeds which indicates it may have been a city patrol car. Just check the car over best you can. If it was a city car, the suspension might have more wear and tear. Obviously listen for engine noise from the cam and lifters. If. You got a trusted mechanic have them check it over.

    • @wjye
      @wjye  2 года назад

      @@tdgjojo7850 LOL I actually am a mechanic as a side hustlle. Honestly man the biggest issue with the chargers is the cam and lifters failure in the 5.7L Hemi, not sure if that’s an issue in the 3.6L cars. On the 5.7 hemi’s people speculate that the long idle hours might contribute to accelerated cam and lifters failure on those engines. So they say typically try to find the lowest I’ll hours you can on the Hemis. However I’ve seen Hemis fail with like 3 or 4K idle hours and some with 15k idle hours still running strong. My experience with the Chargers is that some people get really great cars with no issues and some people have problems...just like any used car. At the end of the day it’s impossible to say if it’ll have issues because I know nothing of its maintenance history and every car is different. Best of luck!

    • @wjye
      @wjye  2 года назад

      I can’t answer that question without seeing the car in person. Higher mileage doesn’t generally scare me if the car was taken care of, but It’s hard to say. One car with 141,000 could be mint and another could be absolutely trashed.

    • @wjye
      @wjye  2 года назад

      Honestly depends on the car and the options. A hemi car will fetch more then a V6 car. I originally bought my car in 2017 with 100k+ for $7500. I'm not sure what they're going for today as everything is more expensive, but if you could get it for less then 10k I'd say its a decent deal.

      @@kobeboss4268 I have not had any issues with lifters other then a little clatter on a cold start if its been sitting for a while. In the time I've owned the car I just change the oil every 3k miles with high mileage synthetic oil and a good filter and that seems to keep it happy. I think being vigilant on oil changes can make a difference.
