Collar up, already buttoned, then after I've tied whatever knot is fitting for the fit, I pull my collar down and adjust as needed. Last summer I bought some knitted ties on clearance on Amazon. 8 ties for $50. It was a risk but when I got them, the quality of them was so good I was shocked. Anyways, it's winter and I'm pretty much gonna be rocking the knitted's 'till I get tired of them. My wife loves them too btw so it was a great buy.
This was very fun to watch. I've always tied a tie with the collar turned up but am willing to try it down to see how it works and if it actually enhances/ makes my knot tying more efficient. I got my third knit tie a few weeks ago (a two-tone "crunchy" one) and love it. They work so well with the more casual American attire yet are an easy way to add a dash of personality to your outfit.
I found this video great for a knitted tie. I am capable of dressing well and doing most tie knots but since I started copying this my knitted ties look way better. I’ve even watched it again as a reminder.
Amazing Video
These brothers gotta come back
You guys are back! Feels like ages since you last did a video. Another great video as per usual.
Thanks for the vid! I discovered it right on time for New Years!
so glad youd uploaded this in 2018, i thought knitted ties had gone out of fashion and was about to go out and by another one for my winter ball tomorrow
Thanks for the video guys! Been looking for a proper demonstration of how to tie a knit tie. And I tie with my collars up. Cheers!
You guys are funny! Nothing wrong with a little humor. Question, do you think knit ties are seasonal? I don't own any and rarely wear a single color tie. Just wondering. I tie mine with the collar up, never tried it while down. Good video as usual. Cheers!
They can be for any season I feel. I've seen some great knit ties in summer at Pitti Uomo and it looks great...especially in pastel colors. Hope that helps!
Depends on the colour, darker colours are more for winter and fall, bright (but not flashy) colours are for summer/spring.
I used a knitted tie today what a surprise that you did this Video exactly today. Collar up, put the tie, close the top button then collar down. That how I do it
Always did tie with collar up and top button undone. Since watching I do both at times.
I button first, then pop the collar up and then tie. It's hard to button after the collars up. 😂 great as always
Had spend 15 minutes failing to tie a knitted tie...you guys sorted it in 30 seconds. Stay smiling gentlemen 😀
My issues with knit ties are the thickness of the fabric and the stretchiness of the fabric. It can difficult to obtain a smaller knot.
I usually have the collar down when I button it. Collar up with the button undone, put tie around, drop the collar, then button the top button, tie the tie and pull up
I usually wear knitted ties in cooler weather. I button top of shirt first with the collar down and then tie with the collar up.
I do it up
*please address*: is it appropriate to wear a cutaway-collared shirt in an office work environment and also how about initial embroidery on the cuff?
I button my top button with the collar down. Also, I try to do a windsor with a knit tie, I can sort of get away with it, but a four in hand knot is the way to go.
Nice. U guys should do a video on how to tie a two piece bow tie. I won one from Penrose and I have no idea how it works.
You just have to attach the two pieces together, and then tie it like normal bow tie. They're separate, so you can better adjust their length. I have one with clasps, and I do admit it was really difficult to figure out.
With my top button done, it's IMPOSSIBLE to lift the collar up or put it down so I usually get the tie under it with the top button open. Then I flip the collar, do up the button, then tie the tie. Maybe my shirt is slightly too tight round the neck?
Haha good stuff here fellow's.... who ties it with them down 🤣 I do mine with them up and also the button fastened 🤙🏽👌🏾
are knitted ties with a pointed end really considered higher quality? cheers
From what I know, not necessarily. They do require more material than the usual flat-end ones so you could argue that more attention to the fabric sourcing or fabric itself could come into play but that's not necessarily true.
I wear almost only knitted ties. I do what I guess you'd call a double four in hand... I wrap the cover twice.
I'd be happy to make a comment. See you next week.
Collar up, button fastened!
mee too
Collar down is the way i like to do the button.
I button the top button with the collar down.
Collar down
Collar up for me
collar down, all the way
Wisdom hah that's the ish
If you button the collar before pulling it down you risk creasing the collar
Collar up
Collar down; Then tie the tie.
I have 25-30 ties but non of them are knitted.the reason?i only find them around 4-6 cm and i really hate it.i don"t know why they make them so skinny!!damnnnnn!!!!!
try Vecchio Anseatico. Have some new rather wide knitted ties, beautiful quality too.
@@barnabylovell i will.thank you
@@barnabylovell just checked their website.it is exactly what i was looking for
Good to hear, love their stuff so happy to help.
Have you seen a jacket with the breast pocket further away from the lapel on a jacket that is not a DB or a three button or a jacket with a super thin lapel? I ordered a single breasted suit with a 3" lapel, and the pocket is like an island out on it's own. After remaking the jacket, the issue was not changed. There is very little content on the internet on this topic. Sad face.
Collar down...
Pretentious?
