I train kali using wooden chinese dao. Because I think kali is blade art too. Dao or other swords is good for traing.

Hi Paul, and greetings from the UK. I just. wanted to thank you for all your hard work putting out these amazing training videos, and yes I have taken out your yearly subscription, and bought several of your great online videos too :) I'm 65 years old with a Tae Kwon Do background, and to be honest have been getting a bit dispondent just doing the routine stuff on my 'Bob'. I decided to get some sticks, and WOW I feel like the old me has come back with increased vigor, adding a whole new dimension to my training- thank you :) I do sometimes have to slow your videos down a bit, only cos the 'lead and lag effect' of seeing and trying to repeat throws me now and again, but 90% of time I catch up when you show the moves from behind (I've always had a problem trying to mirror frontal moves when right is left, left is right, but guess I'm not the only one!). You have a great teaching style, and having a sense of humour makes it real fun :) You are great ambassador to your style, and thank you Sir for sharing your gift. Respect to you and your students- how lucky they are.

Nice demo. I recently got some training swords, dagger etc from a friend who passed away. He would be happy for me to use them for some kali practice. Thanks for all the inspiration.

I’m a newer Taekwondo Shodan, was looking for a weapon to commit to study, started a little with Bo, didn’t care for nunchucks, so did detailed research on martial arts weapons and saw your videos, I started with kali sticks, got two of my own customized 24”, having fun learning, integrating them into my style of the art, even blending them into my forms some, great videos, good job and thanks thank you from Florida Paul.

Am a bit scared if I use that hook sword irl. Its because of the sharp tip of the handle

😊😊Mangadang Umaga. I practice different styles of martial arts but my FAVORITE is Filipino kuntao & my shifu was Filipino, whom taught me escrima, but edged weapons in KATANA also. I find it VERY effective indeed.--Hui Chan-Hu

Hello Paul, thank you for another amazing video comparing FMA weapons vs Kung Fu weapons excellent illustration using the weapons. Quick question have you thought about doing a series on using The Dao, or Kung Fu Broadsword? That would be awesome! I did see your video when you were learning how to use the Dao pretty cool! Thanks Paul for sharing kind regards, David Tampa Florida 🙏🏼

Harkin back to comments on earlier videos, for me it's been a mix of small hand axes, scythes, various lengths of knife/sword/& stick, the occasional stick/baton, bow staff/spear, an the Kali short sword like bolos, an Katana. Tried to teach myself lil bit more challenging, or so thought, like the 3-sec staff an the Rope/chain Dart/meteor hammer, or just a fighting chain BUT learned quickly them last 2 are a whole different skill set an animal then sticks, knifes an blades. Not quite something I'm quite ready to try just yet.. good thing made my meteor hammer outta harmless stuff or I'd probably broke a few things with it.. but yeah I've played with my share clearly. An feel like just about any weapon is like narrated, not just a different name but also a slightly different way to use a usually slightly different version of the same thing. Even some the other fighting arts channels I watch an have played round with mentioned same or similar things... I've seen a Japanese Katana Master play round with a broadsword. So don't see why a Kali expert shouldn't be familiar with a Chinese Dou Sword.
