I wish I had an FMA academy where I’m at 🥺 FMA, is not only a devastatingly effective art, but it’s beautiful too. Transitions from weapons to empty hands and vice-versa, are seamless. These Budo Brothers videos are great! 👊🏾

Ok. American living abroad here. Some dude get in your face, be humble, back up, constantly create space, let him throw tantrum while you keep situation awareness then back tf away or run is the best defense. Go watch some Thai news on youtube there are a lot of knife attacks, machete attacks and shootings. People here kill one another for the most pettiest shit. They kinda blur it out but they show the whole thing. They even have arrows pointing at severed fingers, arm etc in case you missed them. Most time, the victims didn't see it coming and on top of that, the guy coming to kill you in a street fight brought machete wielding friends. In a life and death situation your heart is pounding and lot of them tripped and fell which is usually the start of an end of that dude. You definitely ain't using a knife in someone's hand to stab his friends. lol I live on an island in s. Thailand and it's kinda wild here cuz there are no cops. A local showed me a vdo of a dude with a gun twitching on the ground because dude w machete was quicker. Go learn muay thai, jiu jitsu, FMA or whatever to build confidence but be fucking humble. Street fights especially when deadly weapons are involved ain't a 1, 2 stab, 3, 4 swipe... It's usually oh shit, trip and fall and you're on the ground watching people stomping your head or hacking you.

I read the comments of some criticizing the instructor. While I have the "don't bring the knife to a gunfight mentality," I know I must get to it. I don't want to get into it, but a person with a knife who knows what they're doing can close the gap very quickly between a person getting to their gun and firing it at the assailant. Experience has shown the outcome is not so good for the gun holder.
Second, this training is for one-on-one scenarios quick defenses from knife attacks. I would expect facing multiple attackers, a person would run as fast as they could from the attack.

this is good for practice but nobody with a knife attacks like that and willingly let u disarm them..its going to be aggressive..good video by the way.

Get your knife, go be aggressive against him, and he'll give you an instant transition from male to female with the knife you brought to the dinner table.
You have no idea what Filipino martial artists train like and why they are like this.

Do any of you keyboard experts actually know anything about training in anything other than typing opinions like you’re some worldly badass operator. Even Seals and Rangers do exercises and training of this sort to build reaction time and muscle memory. No one in their right mind goes to get into real fights with real consequences to train. Of course these drills don’t look like a real fight if they did you’d need a crapload of training opponents.

In real scenario, there is no need to lock the guy or the weapon or disarming, it is a rapid action where all you have to do is defend yourself or perhaps run. But if you are cornered, all you have to do is hit first to the most fatal parts of the body. I’m just saying base on my experienced. I was attack with a samurai, i ran back home and grab my garden grass rake, I attacked the guy with samurai, samurai got no match. Can’t attack me, we were fighting for 30 minutes, until the police arrived. My garden rake is solid steel, samurai no match.

What in the world would you go back? Seems like you’re safe at home. So you grab a rake and go fight this samurai… were you on meth or something? Seems incredibly dumb. What would have happened if you run back and there’s the guy and his 4 buddies or his 1 buddy with a pistol.
