The entire platoon was almost completely eaten by the weird chimera bug thingies but luckily the employment of the anomaly code named "Tails" managed to rout the chimera bug swarm, however Tails turned into a mega chimera anomaly and an entire tank line firing line had to be employed... It did not work...

Jay is literally a cod protagonist. He witnesses set-pieces and chaos unfold around him as his allies die for dramatic effect. The main difference however is those aren't set-pieces, this is just natural chaos.

The controls for the first game were hella off putting and the amount of cut content that had to be ditched for it to be a launch title on the ps3 would be a boon to see. A proper horror spinoff of a Civilian trying to make it out of Grey territory during the fall of Russia, Greater Europe or America would be amazing as well. I miss the Resistance franchise, too bad Insomniac said they stopped because they didn't know where else to go with the series.

I mean humanity doing better than expected is accurate in the Resistance universe. Mainly because while the Chimera are fierce and technologically advanced, they are incredibly tactically, if not not inept, then predictable, though they make up for that by never surrendering and immense numbers. I remember in one of the Resistance books they mention that Human pilots only saving grace in air combat was that Chimeran ships always used the same maneuvers and were very predictable for that. So Ignis here is being canonical. Also, so glad to see the good ol' M5A2 Folsom, one of my favorite fictional weapons.
Fun fact, Resistance pilots dunking on the Chimera is canonical because in Resistance 2 you can find a hangar of American fighters that each have over a dozen kill markings on the nose.

If the pilots were flying Sabres instead of Skyraiders it would've actually been pretty lore accurate. You see parked F86 Sabres with multiple kills painted on their fuselages - humans were just better pilots than the Chimera.
Hey Jay, here’s a fact about the Douglas A-1 Skyraider: It was the first aircraft to get a gun kill in the Vietnam War. It did this during a ground attack mission to delay the capture of a downed pilot. They didn’t have gun sights due to the Skyraider being used for ground attack. As stated by the Wikipedia: “The first, on 20 June 1965 by Lieutenant Clinton B. Johnson and Lt. (jg) Charles W. Hartman III of VA-25, was the first gun kill of the Vietnam War.” The aircraft that Charles shot down was a MiG-17.

I really love when I see something Resistance related, those games were so good in keeping you entertained with lore. Everything from the numerous Games to the Novels. I wish we got more info on the Grey's and the Cloven's worship of Grey Tech. It was always cool to me how it was inferior genetically mixed breeds of Chimera that decimated mankind into near extinction, yet the Pure Breeds were still weaker than whatever kicked them off Earth in the first place. I need to buy the books again.
These apocalyptic defense missions like the recent Flood Mission, the Warhammer mission in the trench map (that map was gorgeous and unbelievably beautiful and so different feeling from Tanoa or other normal maps btw) and this mission have been - oh, I'm gonna add Fortnite 2 as well- these missions and videos have been such a blast to watch on everyone's channels. These apocalyptic defense missions like the recent Flood Mission, the Warhammer mission in the trench map (that map was gorgeous and unbelievably beautiful and so different feeling from Tanoa or other normal maps btw) and this mission have been - oh, I'm gonna add Fortnite 2 as well- these missions and videos have been such a blast to watch on everyone's channels. You and Cypher are giving actual comedy and levity right now and I really need it, a ton of us do. Thanks and keep it coming
