- Samsung WA45H7000AW Washing Machine has draining issues. This can either be caused by a bad water pump or a clogged water pump. This video will demonstrate how to diagnose the problem and fix it if it is only a clog.
If you need to purchase a new pump it can be found at this link amzn.to/3zHgdER
And during the 16-17 July Prime Days, it's on sale!!

God bless you! You saved this single mom a lot of money and tears trying to figure out how to fix the washer and pay for Christmas.
You’re welcome, I’m glad it helped!
Yesss I have 8 kids and six of their birthdays fall in June and July.. currently fixing this bad boy right now! 😂
Hey man, just wanted to say thanks. You saved me a $300 service call and this video helped me feel comfortable enough to replace this $40 part myself. I appreciate it!
I’m about to pull mine apart. I found a quarter in it but it’s still not draining. I know there’s a bunch of junk. I want to do it myself and save some money! Thank you for your help!
Thankyou so much for doing this video, im a single mom of 5 and you saved me alot of money. I was able to fix with the help of my 17 & 13 yr old. Thankyou.
I am also single mom of 2 and don't really want so spend money on things.
Thanks for video
If I could give this 1000 thumbs up I would... just got an estimate for $470... saw this video and ended up with the same problem (clogged pump) works like new again!!! Thank you Sir!!!!
Thanks a lot man, you saved me some $$$. Already repaired my Samsung dryer, now the washer, less than 2 years old. If you buy Samsung, get ready to become an appliance repairman.
i just installed 4 new hanger suspension rods on my Samsung HE washer.
4 years after this comment I’m coming back to it. Lol😂
THANK YOU BROTHA' !!! You just saved me from having to spend $295.00 !!! You made me a Hero to my family! I had the exact same problem, a big clog of gunk and fuzz. THANK YOU!
JASON HARP lol same!!!!
Thanks for the great video. My Samsung 7050AW washer started to have the water draining issue about a week ago. The instructions were clear.
Was hoping my issue was the same with just the lint. Found the inside motor have a small plastic piece that was broken off. Was able to order a replacement motor piece for about $20 from Amazon. What is harder is that rubber valve cap, DC62-00328A, was broken off and the exact piece for the OEM is about $60+. There is another valve cap for about $10 with a different model number but don't think it would fit. In the end I just went to the Sears Direct to buy the motor set assembly for about $100. At least I know that the part would work. Still have me some money from needing to buy another Washer for a while.
First time in my entire life a DIY video on how to fix an appliance actually works for me!! You are awesome !!! Thank you.
What I found was a rusted nail no idea how it gotten there...
100% DIY solution! I got lucky and didn't even have to remove the pump, just the top hose and there was the "clog" sticking out. Pulled on it and kept on pulling until a mauled sock about 8 inches long came out. Less than an hour, and we are back in business. Thank you so much for posting something so easy to find and follow. (soap box comment: What kind of engineer builds a washer where something the size of a sock can reach a pump impeller?)
Dude I just spent 3 hours (12am-3am) after my 8 hour shift following this video after watching it first. You just saved me God knows how much money. Thank you so much!!
Thank you for this video. Relaxing after work on a Friday night after a long week and the wife tells me the washer crapped out half way through the load. With the help of this video I had it fixed within 39 minutes.
Thank you!
Our washer wasn't draining and I took the hose off that went to the pump and there was a small sock stuck just before the pump. Removed the sock and put the hose back and all is fine. Didn't even have to remove the pump. Your Video was very helpful, thanks so much.
you're a life saver UTAH23! I pulled apart our Samsung's pump and found my wife's sock! How on earth it made it in there I'll never know but the washer works like a charm and it didn't cost anything but a few hours for draining and disassembly. Thanks again!
This was the BEST video ever! Extremely helpful! Our issue was not as simple as a clog. When we opened the pump, we found that the shaft on the impeller was snapped. We were able to order a replacement drain pump online for less than $30.00 and now all is working again. Thank you so much for helping us save hundreds of dollars! 😊
Same. I tried to super glue is back on until the new pump arrived. It lasted two loads then snapped off again. When the new pump arrived i was a pro at taking it apart and putting it back together!
Thank you so frickn much...money is so tight right now and you just saved me from handing over more money to a Technician...thank you again
GOD BLESS!!! This man saved us $300 or more in repairs ! Thank You!!
I can’t upvote this video enough. This is exactly the problem we had, with visitors in town. I searched and searched and the Samsung documentation is garbage. Thank you so much for the excellent walk-through. This video was a life saver.
Thanks! I also write self-care books. Check out my book on Amazon www.amazon.com/Self-Health-Andragogy-Self-Directed-Learning-Self-Care/dp/B0B2V3VZHG/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=2WX43YE4Q10AQ&keywords=self-health+andragogy&qid=1658588283&sprefix=self-health%2Caps%2C174&sr=8-1#
I did it!!! I replaced the pump!! What would have been over a $200 job, I did by myself for less than $30!!! Thank you so much! I’m literally crying on the floor of my laundry room. I didn’t think I could. But I pushed myself. Thank you!
That’s awesome! Happy Holidays!
Thank you for this video. I followed your instructions but when I got the pump out there was no fuzz or anything causing a blockage. I ordered a new pump for 40 bucks on Amazon. it showed up two days later and it works perfectly. Your video was really helpful.
You’re welcome!

You’re a life saver! I thought I broke my washer turns out there was a nail inside the pump! Took it apart and put it together pretty easily following your video, which was such a great while my fiancé is out on deployment. Thank you so much!
Thank you for your service AND Merry Christmas and a Happy Joyfilled prosperous New Year.
Mine also had a nail in the pump!
Simple, and straight to the point. Thanks for the video. Cost the grand total of $9 for a wrench. Went straight to the clog. Put back together in no time. Works just fine.
Great video!!! Heres another tip for people having trouble out there… after unclamping the first black hose on the right hand side, i used a wet/dry vacuum and was able to get a huge amount of cotton which was clogging the pump. Clamped it back up and was good to go. This will save you some time from having to take out the whole pump and taking it apart. Plus keep things a little dryer because you can use the vacuum to dry as you go!

uuuu😅😊 la
This saved me so much work!!! Thank you kind stranger!!!
@@jasonpaden8641 glad i could help
Does this type of washer have a filter clean out place like other washers. I've looked but never been able to find one on it.
@@amypotts1873 Not that I’m aware of. I ended up wasting some time taking the inside of the drum apart looking for one. My issue ended up being a newborn baby sock that made its way into the pump.
Thanks for the video bud. We have a similar Samsung washer using the same pump and I expected to find the pump header full of fluff like you, but instead discovered a loose impeller and broken impeller shaft. LOTS of other washers use this same pump, as do other companies as well. You can get a replacement pump (just the motor--it snaps onto the plastic header from your machine) for about $25 at multiple websites. Just finished the job and am running our machine for the first time in a week (No LEAKS !!!). Could not have done this without your very helpful video.
I can not thank you enough! As a family of 6 our washer runs almost non-stop. Our clog ended up being a wadded up Pokémon card.
Your video saved us a service call and daily trips to the laundry mat.
Hah!😂
Hope it wasn’t worth much
I watched this and remembered my wife had washed a few small pillows just a couple days before our disaster. Great video, one viewing and I was confident to tackle the repair.
Your video just saved me a $300 repair quote from a local tech. $150 just for coming out and an estimated $150 do do the repair. I followed your directions and found a that a sock had been sucked into the line. Just pulled it out, put the hoses back on the pump and the washer is working fine. Thanks very much for posting this!
Thank you brotha, opened it up and my sons sock was stuck in the pump... great video!!!
Same 9 month old sons sock was stuck
THANK YOU. My mom was so frustrated with the washer and was close to having someone come out to fix it. I found your video and followed it. We found a Bobby pin that was causing the problem. Video was super easy to follow and you saved us money. My mom is amazed and it’s all thanks to you
Thank you so much! I was so frustrated because I couldn't locate a proper fix for my Samsung model #/serial #. I found one "no-show" sock in my pump!! Put everything back together. Took about an hour and a half for me to do from start to finish. You saved me way more money and aggravation than I could afford to spend. Thanks a million! - Long Island Mom
Thank you! I’ve never done anything like this before but was able to follow your clear instructions and remove the child’s sock plugging the pump. Saved money and helped me understand how my washer works. Really appreciate it!
No problem anytime. you might like this other video I have on my channel it’s a sleep optimization presentation that empowers you to improve your sleep hygiene ruclips.net/video/nLXbkgOMvH0/видео.html
Dude! You saved me $800!! Thank you so much, I had the exact same problem, my smart wife washed the arm rest cushions and it opened up during the wash, clogged up the motor, thank god it didnt burn.
Took me 30 min to fix after watching your video.
You are a hero!
Just adding another thank you to keep this in the algorithm’s good graces. Saved me a lot of money. My pump wasn’t clogged but I was able to use this video to replace the pump myself for a fraction of the cost.
Thank you! This video broke it down, step-by-step and very detailed explanation! When the washer stopped draining, I felt very defeated, I’ve never worked on a washer, and I didn’t have the money to call a professional. This video gave me the reassurance and confidence I needed to do it myself. It’s crazy to think of what a little piece of a safety pin would have cost me…..
I’m glad it worked out.
I’ve been so stressed bc of one thing happening right after the other. I’m so glad I found your video and I am going to try to work on this tomorrow.
did this end up being the cause for yours not draining?
How many thumbs up can you give cause one just does not seem like enough! I watched this video after searching my error code and having a repair guy tell me it would be $250 just to look at my washer then more to actually repair it! I watched this video and my washer works again!
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to post it. I was nervous to take out the pump and make the problem worse but watching your video I decided to try it. I had to get right down to the end step and found a penny! You saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you! Very well done and easy to follow!
Glad I could help!
WE had a penny in ours too! I’m so glad he posted this.
Awesome walk through. Was able to fix our Samsung washer in less than 2 hours. Because of this video I had the drain pump unclogged from debris within 30 minutes. The tricky part was putting it all back together. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this! Didn't even need to take the pump out... a sock was easily visible in the pump as soon as I took the hoses out! I definitely made a mess with the water though... Thank you for your video which gave me the confidence to tackle this problem on my own!
wtf how
how the fk did u get a sock in there?
There is space between the inner wash tub and fill drum. If a sock were to be dropped into that space the pump would suck it up.
Watched your video and was able to fix my washing machine. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video it saved me from having to purchase a new one.
This video was a lifesaver!!! I was able to drain it before my husband got home so he could get straight to the dirty work. Thank you for such a thorough video! It was so easy for both of us to follow!
CC CC c
thank you. I am having the same issue. As soon as I have my new wetvac out of the box I will be ready to tackle the issue. : follow up; I SPENT some time trying to resolve the issue simply by applying a wetvac hose to the drain hose. It was my hope that doing so would dislodge the obstruction.
While I was able to fully drain the washer with the use of the wetvac I was unable to clear the obstruction.
Following you excellent instructions, I was able to do exactly what you did and I fixed the problem. In my case, it was a 1" x 3" piece of strapping which had torn loose from a backpack.
I would advise all to consider taking picture of your pump as you disassemble it as it can be somewhat puzzling putting it back together.
You are a SAINT. Im a 29 year old woman and have never fixed an appliance in my life and your direction was clear and easy to follow. I owe you big time. Cheers

You saved me a call to tech support. Using your video was able to fix my washing machine in 90 minutes. Thanks so much for posting this video and taking the time.
I rarely comment on videos, but I was doing one last load of laundry before selling the washer & moving, and it wouldn't drain. Followed your video and found a quarter in the pump.... put it back together and everything worked perfectly. What a relief! You saved me a couple hundred bucks. Thanks!
After watching this video my girlfriend was confident enough to try and fix our unit. She went step-by-step and in under an hour we were back up and running! Turns out a sock was clogging the pump by the check valve. Thank you for being so detailed and going SLOWLY so its an easy follow along.
Matt Matarazzo I Just made another video for another issue with this machine Samsung Washer Spins and Refills Over and Over!! DIY fix. WA45H7000AW ruclips.net/video/61GSgrTfq1Y/видео.html
Worn stabilizer rods.
I want to thank you for this video.
My girlfriend told me she was stressed and I asked her why she said that her wash did not complete it cycle by spinning and letting the water out and that the washing machine tub have water in it. I put the model number in and your video came up and I was relieved. Although your pump slightly varies it's the same. I should have listened to the beginning of your video because you do say to put it on the spin cycle which I had to learn later on. I wasn't sure if it was the computer or the motor.
Allowing gravity draining and putting on spin the motor wasn't a problem because it was spinning. However if the machine doesn't release water the spin cycle will stop. I figured out the computer was telling the motor what to do but the pump wasn't doing its job and so it would stop the cycle.
You made it look easy and your video photography was well done. You were straight into the point and I could understand.
I'm going to subscribe to you I think you ought to make other videos as you do a good job. We are ordering the pump and I'll be replacing it pretty soon.
Thanks again to you.
You are the man! All of the sudden my washer stopped working in the middle of a cycle with about a 1/5 of a drum full of water. I restarted it and all I heard was a hump (power was going somewhere). I emptied the water by myself and restarted a cycle emptied. It all worked until the drain/spin process. I watched some other videos and stumbled with yours after figuring out the problem must be in the drain pump. I already had the pump out and thought about replacing it since electricity was good (voltage check and humming). I disassembled the pump per your instruction and found a small piece of Jean's metal branding in it stopping the pump from turning. I put everything back together and walla...it works again. Thanks for this awesome video.
Thank you so so much! I was able to fix this tonight, without having to pay someone to do it!!! I appreciate it soooo very much!!
Thank you for this video.
Pulled the pumped out as you explained. The impellor snapped off the motor. Good thing they are only $50 CDN.
My wife and I did exactly what you showed in your video....a single shiny penny was the culprit .....but we saved ourselves days of waiting on a repair service company and feel extremely confident....thank you!!
You are the best!!!!. My husband usually does repairs around the house but is on the road now, my washer stop draining and i searched until i ran into your video which was a great help😂😂😂, because it is now working and i didn't have to call him to figure out how or who can come to the house and fix it. Your awesome 💥💥💥💥

Thank you!! This just saved me so much money! What we thought was a clog like your video ended up being a broken drain pump. As soon as I took it all apart after following your video, the plastic fan attachment fell right out and we noticed it had completely broken off. A quick Amazon order for the $30 part and a bit of work and the washer is working perfectly. Thanks!
Thank you, CW. Not only did you save me a lot of money and trouble, but with the isolation measures, there’s no telling when a technician would have been able to help.
Great Video... Thank You! Today I paid $120.00 for a local appliance repair company to diagnose my washer. Tech told me my pump motor needs to be replaced. $150.00 for the pump and another $100.00 for labor. I decided to take a look in the pump after watching your video. I found a finishing nail wedged in the pump motor. I removed the nail and the washer works perfect again. You just saved me $250.00!!!
Just commenting to say it’s 2024 and you just saved another person hundreds of dollars. I can’t thank you enough! Found a small clip of finishing nails in my pump blocking the propeller. Got them out and now we’re back in business!
I bet your wife and kids appreciate your hard working wisdom and helpful support. ❤❤❤ My pump isn't pumping hard enough it's not clogged I think the pump motor is bad! I learned so much by taking it apart like you showed me
Thank you so much. This video saved me few hundred dollars. I was able to fix my washing machine by changing the pump.
This video saved me some money and a big headache! I followed directions and found a piece of wire in the pump! A wire from work that fell in my safety vest! Lol thanks fpr the detailed step by step video! 🙏
Thank You! FIXED! Great to know what is inside the machine. Just a couple of modifications to your method. 1. I used a shop vac wet vac to suck the water out of the hoses both the drain hose, and when I disconnected the hose from the bottom of the drum. * Note I did scoop out as much water as possible, and sucked out what I could from the top of the washing machine. There is quite a bit of water left in the drum. A quick finger check into the intake side of the pump confirmed there was a clog similar to yours. I tried to suck it out with the vacuum, but ended up removing the pump and realized there is a check valve in the exhaust side of the hose, so no to vacuum. I then just stuck a screwdriver into the pump inlet and was able to pull out the clog similar to what you had. Once it looked visually OK, I used the blower side of the vacuum to blow in the input side, and I had a good flow on the output side. So I reinstalled it without completely disassembling the pump. Much thanks to you, I would have taken it all apart if I had not watched your video!
Your video just saved me $500 bucks...thank you.
Mine had a baby sock in it.
Samsung said 3 to 5 days before they could come look at at. Done it after watching you do it. I went step by step with you.
Again thanks
Garfield Redden I Just made another video for another issue with this machine Samsung Washer Spins and Refills Over and Over!! DIY fix. WA45H7000AW ruclips.net/video/61GSgrTfq1Y/видео.html

Thank you so much for this video! You saved me a lot of Money this weekend. My husband was convinced we had to buy a new washer, but I found your video. I followed your instructions and located the problem. There was a big piece of plastic in there and had broke the little fan. I went out and bought the part came home put it back together and it works perfectly! I feel so accomplished! Thank you!
YW, so many things can be fixed ourselves with a bit of RUclips research!
Thank you for this awesome video. Washer been down for two days. Watched the video and in 30 mins it’s alive and didn’t spend a dime.
Found a nail in the pump thank you works great, don’t know what we would do without guys like you.
Thank you for this video! Your explanations and demonstrations were perfect and on point. From the weird smell to the pump disassembly. I'm not super technical, and my model of washer is slightly different, but because of this video, I found my daughter's sock in the water pump clogging it up. As good as new! 100% grateful! You saved me some time and $$$, you're a savior, man!
Mine was a sock too lol
Thank you so much for this video! I've got a husband, 4 kids, and a lot of piled up laundry. You talked me through the entire process of unclogging the pump and for that I am extremely grateful!
Thank you so much. I had the same problem and got it fixed in less than an hour. However, I got water spilled all over the floor and had to use a shop vac to dry. Now that I am thinking about that, I should have used the shop vac to get the water out from the drum first. Anyway, the mess is not too bad and you saved my day. Really appreciated.
Right?
I found this video, but only after watching a bunch of videos that said "you might have a little bit of water come out of the pump, so have a little hand towel ready just in case". I'm glad my husband was home, because he ran down as soon as I yelled out because I basically flooded the whole laundry area, ruining the adjacent floor boards and crumbling the painted cement. I didn't expect the whole tub to empty through there. I definitely didn't expect that it'd all come flowing out at that step. The thing that worries me is that the water came down everywhere, so I'm afraid that the electrical wires have been damaged, not just at the pump, but anywhere under the washer. I definitely will go the shop vac way to empty the rest of it before trying to disconnect the pump again... It's in times like this I wish I had a drain hole in the floor.
Really can't thank you enough for this video. Super easy to follow and I found the sock that was stopping the drain from working. You saved me hours of time and probably loads of money. I owe you a beer....
You posted this video, Nov. 2018, here I am January 1st, 2023 and my daughter had the exact problem. Your video was awesome and saved her hundreds of dollars. I owe you a beer or 2. Happy New Year, and thank you again

I NEVER comment on videos. But this video helped me a lot! Rather than calling a tech and being charged for service, I just followed your steps. I was hoping it was just a clogged pipe. But I ended up having to replace the drain pump (the “motor” you referred to) cause the little fan was broken. Cost me only $68. Im back up and running like a charm! Thank you sir for this video!!
Thanks. Found one of those girly socks in my pump. Almost scrapped my 8 year old washer. Saved me hundreds.

I never comment on videos...... this video saved me on unclogging the drain pump. Keep doing the Lords work! Thanks!!
My washer just stopped draining, the symptoms are exactly as the ones on your video. After watching this video, I’m pretty confident, the problem will be fixed. Thank you for an amazing video !!
Video helped me find my daughters sock our drain pump decided to eat. 😤 Running a load now praying the pump still works! Thank you so much!
Perfectly addressed the problem we were having, and the solution to fix it. In our case it was a sharpie cap in the pump!
Thanks to you, I was able to successfully change out our broken drain pump.
Update. It stop draining after 2 loads. Bought the part and changed it out without any issues thanks to your video. Happy Holidays and thanks again.
I looked up the new pump information and found out that I could simply replace the pump motor and that was only $20. I did it and it now works. Thnx again for your helpful video.
This is a 💎 of a video that save me ALOT OF 💰 instead of buying a new machine. My pump had a broken pen jamming up the pump propellers that cause it not to drain.
Thank you. Saved us a lot of grief by watching your video.
I'm back. You are an absolute godsend. Last year I fixed my washer just like you showed us. Mine was clogged with sand. It worked so great after. You think there would be another filter before the pump. I was thinking of putting a lint catcher on the hose before it hits the pump because it's clogged again. I came to watch the video again. Needed to remember how to do it. I hope it works again. Thank you so much for this.
@@chasgarza3960 You're welcome!
Super helpful! Just pulled my pump apart and had exactly the same situation. Saved my day! Thanks for the video
Thank you so much for the video. This is exactly what my machine needed. No one in my area would even take a look at a samsung. Showed your video to son in law. He ordered the pump and replaced it. It now works good as new.
This saved me some money, you're the best! I have a different model but it's 99% identical down there (minus the wire retaining clips, those I couldn't get to release btw) Had to tear it completely apart from behind the washer on the floor but found a key, that I mistakenly left in my pocket, hanging out in the pump.
Thank you! 🙏 Found a hair band stuck in the motor. Without this great walk through, I would not have fixed it.
Wow, this video was awesome. Thank you so much for posting this. My wife called me this afternoon and told me the washing machine wouldn't drain, and was displaying a code. I did some research and came across this video. I followed your instructions, which you made so easy to follow.
Turns out the problem was one of my little girl's socks was stuck in the hose that leads into the pump. I still took the pump apart to make sure it wasn't clogged too (which it wasn't). Put everything back together, and it works like a champ.
Thanks again, sir. You saved us a bunch of money!!

DUDE! Thank you! Took mine apart and was expecting to find a bunch of lint or dog hair! Every hose was clean n clear! I took the Pump apart and........I was surprised to find 1 single sowing needle! Never thought that something so small would be the problem! Thank you in 2021 for your helpful video! Cheers from Ontario Canada!
No problem bro! We lived in New Brunswick for 2.5 years. I've been to Kingston a few times.
O.M.G. this totally worked for me! Thanks to your video I was able to open up the drain/water pump and found a piece of wood splinter from one of my husky's chew sticks that must have been in one of the carpets I had just washed. THANK YOU this saved me a call to a repair person which would have been about $300!!! I also found my protective housing was not on and secured, plus one of my rubber grommets is missing and will replace, plus the hose on the inside of the back of the washer was not connected to this little rubber stabilizer and rehooked that and it's even now quieter!!! Thank you! this only cost me my time :)
Thank you so much! I would have never thought I could have done this on my own, your video is extremely helpful!😁
Just wanted you to know you saved me a lot of money with this video. Had same exact issue. Did what you said and found dog bed filling in motor. Thank you so much. Felt really good fixing it on my own. My husband just wanted to call someone out, but after finding this video I wanted to try it myself. 😃😃😃
Thanks so much! Super helpful and great level of detail!! I was able to find a clog, not in the pump, but in the rubber hose between the washer and the pump... and I wouldn't have known where to start without this video!
Dude you saved me at least a hundred bucks!! I followed your video exactly and I found a crumbled up 5 dollar bill inside that looked so washed out( no pun intended) removed it put it all back together and it works!! Thank you
