This video gave me the confidence to try fixing my washer myself. AND IT WORKED! I'm a woman in my mid 30's and don't always feel the most comfortable calling service people to my house. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, saving me money, and for the intense dopamine hit I got when it started running.

I tried two other suggestions (several times), sat on the floor of my closet sized laundry room and cried, and was quite literally ready to throw it out the door until I found this video. I’m just unbelievably grateful that you posted this! Half the day yesterday and all day today I’ve been stressing and trying to fix it to no avail. Tried this with the help of all 4 of my kiddos and was able to wash a load with no code popping up!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️

Doing my sunday laundry and it stopped on me just like that 😢 I was so stressed out because I just spent the cash on it and honestly could not even afford to take anything in time to a local laundromat. I would suggest that in the transition to the outside section where you get to the drain pipe that you clear out, you mention that this is underneath the washing machine! I spent at least 10 minutes drying to figure out how to access what you showed us from the back panel. Haha.

This fixed our problem. I found this video after snaking the drain and replacing the pump, and it still wouldn’t drain. Its been slow for a while, but finally stopped draining last week. After watching this video my husband took that part off and sure enough it was clogged almost exactly like the video and there was a pair of underwear in it. The underwear is what finally did it in i guess. Hooked it up and it works perfectly now! Thank you!

I'd like this a million times if I could! Thank you! You just saves me an estimated $402.68 in a service call. My washer looked just like this one, I'm guessing from washing an outdoor rug, so a combination of the rug backing and dirt. Thanks again!

      Very cool. Glad to help.
I’m hoping that material is not dissolved aluminum. If you Google front load washer spider arm you’ll see a common problem with front load washers. Basically the arm that holds up the stainless steel drum is made of aluminum and corrodes extremely quickly. I thought about this after I made that video.
Hopefully you’re right and it’s just material off the back of a rug.

    • @WasherDryerMoney
      @WasherDryerMoney  3 года назад +1

I have the exact same problem. The service guy bought the new pump and was about to replace and I asked just see the drain hose once please and he didn't. I insisted and thats when he saw the clogged pipe. Mine was clogged after washing off rugs. The guy couldn't put the drain hose pipe back in place after taking off. He couldn't figure out how to wrap that wire around the pipe. He said he is going to bring a new one. Its already been two weeks. Its very frustrating. I learned my lesson that never wash those rugs in machine again.
I am worried about the dryer, I put the rugs after washer in that. Now dryer is dirty with all those rug crumbs. Should a simple vaccum inside the drier is enough? Or Inneed to worry about something else ?

Also on the top there is a detergent hose connected which often has several bends in the hose to route the detergent into the drum.
If indeed they used a thick detergent, such as a shaved soap etc, this can gunk up the hose & block it.
When this happens water will usually spill out at the top where the detergent tray slides in and out.
Just thought I would add this little fyi for other folks that may be experiencing a situation in which may not be covered by a youtube video.
It is this very reason as to why some manufacturers place detergent restrictions on some washers, could it be avoided by a better design? of course.

Are you planning on making a tell all course on how to flip washing and drying machines?

I am. I’ve just been super busy lately. I am moving not only my family but my entire shop and all my appliances that I’m currently working on. As soon as I settle in I was thinking about making a small quick course on flipping appliances.

So you have a video of actually getting to the drain hose to check it?

Thank you, I wouldn't have thought to look under the washer. I didn't think there would be an access panel under it. But sure enough, I tipped it slightly to the right and was able to easily access the tube. Lol mine had a sock stuck in it.

Glad the video helped. I have seen some washers get completely clogged up with pet hair. It’s crazy how much hair will be in some machines.

Hey good afternoon thanks for the video I have a two year old Samsung very similar to this one will not go through a regular wash cycle and it’s very intermittent doing anything else it fails and stops and if you hit start eventually you get a 3C code the diagnostic shows it as 3C2 I do notice when it fails the cleaning cycle there is a clicking noise coming from around the door but the lock seems to be working do you think this could be the door lock or is it more likely control board ? i’m going to check the inside of the drain pump but the filter and drains seem to be working and the unit does drain when you first cut it on to do any cycle. Thx for any help

Do you reset the washer after unplugging

If there’s a reset on the type of washer, I’m working on. I usually will do it. It usually will not hurt anything.

"Dispenser Drain Hose" or "Bellow Drain Hose" I think... Gabe has posted a video about how to look up the parts diagram for basically any appliance and get model numbers and cross-reference numbers and the name of all of the parts... Check it out here.
