This video gave me the confidence to try fixing my washer myself. AND IT WORKED! I'm a woman in my mid 30's and don't always feel the most comfortable calling service people to my house. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge, saving me money, and for the intense dopamine hit I got when it started running.
I tried two other suggestions (several times), sat on the floor of my closet sized laundry room and cried, and was quite literally ready to throw it out the door until I found this video. I’m just unbelievably grateful that you posted this! Half the day yesterday and all day today I’ve been stressing and trying to fix it to no avail. Tried this with the help of all 4 of my kiddos and was able to wash a load with no code popping up!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️
Samsung sent a technician to my house who couldn’t fix my washer because it wouldn’t spin or drain. After finding this video I fixed the washer my self.
You sir are an absolute God send and restored my faith in what RUclips should be about. I purchased this same model used (had about a month) and starting a new position at work tomorrow. Doing my sunday laundry and it stopped on me just like that 😢 I was so stressed out because I just spent the cash on it and honestly could not even afford to take anything in time to a local laundromat. You just saved me a huge amount of stress and time 😭 THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! 🎉🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
My washing machine quit draining after we washed a throw rug in it. Completely clogged up the works. Thank you for posting this video. It saved me a service call.
Thank you so much. I had the exact same problem with the exact same gunk clogging it up. I wanted to tell you that the sludge is not sand but the rubber coating on the bottom of rugs and bath mats that had flaked off. Anyway, with your video I was able to make the repair easily and quickly. Thanks again!
No problem glad to help. So you washed a floor mat and the rubber back came off? That could be what it was, but it felt more gritty. Let me ask you this, if you were to put it in a bag and squeeze it would you say it felt like a bag of sand?
Yes its same with me. I can confirm its the rubber bottom of an old bathroom mat. My washer clogged and its all over drum and filter. Thanks for posting easiest way to get to drain tube.
Thank you so much, I was able to find the clog of hair holding the pump from functioning through your instructions here. My family and I are grateful for the money you helped us save by getting it done ourselves.
This video and others like it have saved me so much money on repairs, thank-you!! I would suggest that in the transition to the outside section where you get to the drain pipe that you clear out, you mention that this is underneath the washing machine! I spent at least 10 minutes drying to figure out how to access what you showed us from the back panel. Haha. Thank-you again!!!
This fixed our problem. I found this video after snaking the drain and replacing the pump, and it still wouldn’t drain. Its been slow for a while, but finally stopped draining last week. After watching this video my husband took that part off and sure enough it was clogged almost exactly like the video and there was a pair of underwear in it. The underwear is what finally did it in i guess. Hooked it up and it works perfectly now! Thank you!
Thank you this is literally what our washer had, it was clogged with the backing of a bathroom mat that shouldn't had been in the washer. I was able to remove the drain hoses and clean as much stuff as I could then ran a couple of rinse cycles to get rid of all the leftover residue!
I'd like this a million times if I could! Thank you! You just saves me an estimated $402.68 in a service call. My washer looked just like this one, I'm guessing from washing an outdoor rug, so a combination of the rug backing and dirt. Thanks again!
Very cool. Glad to help. I’m hoping that material is not dissolved aluminum. If you Google front load washer spider arm you’ll see a common problem with front load washers. Basically the arm that holds up the stainless steel drum is made of aluminum and corrodes extremely quickly. I thought about this after I made that video. Hopefully you’re right and it’s just material off the back of a rug.
Thank you so much for this video. My samsung washer is basically the model your showing. Its 8yrs old. I honestly thought id have to go and buy another one today. Between 3 adults and 5 kids its definitely seen use Thankfully with your video we pulled the washer out and pulled one side off and immediately found a sock bound up in the exit side. Thank you for saving me $1300
I’ll try this one tomorrow cuz I already changed the door lock and the draining pump today but still showing nd code! I’ve been working for 3 days now on this! Found your video tonight so finger crossed hope this is it😅
Thank you. I wasn’t able to turn the washer on the side so I used the back access panel. Since I could only remove the large valve of the rubber drain and not the 2 smaller valves, I sprayed water from my garden hose to clear it out while the two small valves were attached. It seems to be working now.
Thank you so much for this. I always know to clean the filter on mine, but this time the filter was clean. Got the thing off and there was a baby sock lodged in it and now working like clockwork! Thanks so much! Saved me from getting a new washer for Christmas
I think the stuff that plugged the hose was from washing rugs. The anti-slide stuff on rugs comes off and plugs them. I have cleared the lines several times after rugs are washed.
It could be. That stuff sat in my yard and never dissolved. So I’m guessing it was either rubber or maybe deteriorating aluminum from the spider arm that holds the drum on the washer.
I have the exact same problem. The service guy bought the new pump and was about to replace and I asked just see the drain hose once please and he didn't. I insisted and thats when he saw the clogged pipe. Mine was clogged after washing off rugs. The guy couldn't put the drain hose pipe back in place after taking off. He couldn't figure out how to wrap that wire around the pipe. He said he is going to bring a new one. Its already been two weeks. Its very frustrating. I learned my lesson that never wash those rugs in machine again. I am worried about the dryer, I put the rugs after washer in that. Now dryer is dirty with all those rug crumbs. Should a simple vaccum inside the drier is enough? Or Inneed to worry about something else ?
Thank you. I think we have the EXACT washer. Tried draining front etc and cleaning. Still didn't work. Today a repair person came in and did exact same thing. $140 easy easy. But thanks to your video, I will do myself next time. Cheers
Fantastic - thank you so much ! I also have a problem that the little black tube is blocked too. The washer is my son's and dog hair is part of the culprit, could also be sand, stuff, washer powders..... to be established. So we will check it as you say, but also have to somehow fix that little black tube.
oh man, just got done taking that hose off, actually just had to take the 2 small ends off and kind smack the clog out, had washed a throw pillow that had hole in it, the foam from the pillow was in small dime size pieces and clumped up in that hose. Working great now. thanks for the video buddy.
Dude! You are a life saver! Thank god I watched this video because I found a fake “potato chip” stuck in side the ribbed part ! No other video shows cleaning this thing out so thank you!
Thank you so much. Just got done lying this stupid washer off… it’s been a pain in the ass and I could feel this thing underneath. Back to the laundry room!!! Thank you so much!!!
Wow! Thanks abunch! It worked. We didn’t have the build up but we did have a toy HeMan Shield stuck in the hose underneath. Had I not took it off we were about to hire someone. You saved us a lot of money and time.
Thanks for providing this information, very helpful. I have the identical washer. The machine is leaking from front underneath, not from lower lip of door. The machine is 7 years old. What do you think it could be. Door gasket? Filter is clean and pump is draining.
Thank you so much! Do you have any kind of link to take donations for your helpfulness? As someone else mentioned this saves a ton on repair bills and I appreciate you so much!
Super helpful guidance...but it could have been a lot better if you showed how to remove the back panel. When tackling a new repair, it's usually the "taking apart" step that's most stressful. This is actually my exact model so I will be trying this fix. Thank you!
This gave me hope as I have that exact washer, but this component was clear. I know the problem is in the washer (not farther down the pipeline) . After trying this fix, I can only guess that there is a clog in that ridiculous grey hose, that I can't seem to get to. Do you have a follow up to this video or a suggestion of what to do next?
Yep - Sock + a piece of corroding metal stuck in the drain. How on earth a small sock made it into the drain pipe is completely beyond me! Thanks for the video. Going from the bottom was WAY faster then removing the front panel.
The substance clogging the drain reminds me of cremation ashes. Freaked me out. I’m concerned it could have become that way from the motor burning from being unable to drain. It’s so dangerous to not keep up with your appliances. Thanks for the video!
Thank for the video. Do you know if it's possible to do this without tilting it onto it's side? Is there another way to access it? I have a dryer sitting on top of the washer so I don't think I can physically tip it over.
I always Check that rubber boot first because sometimes it’s full of coins and those coins will destroy the water pump. But I check a whole lot because I’m a refurbisher. It’s just part of the routine I go through.
Bought a second hand washer/Dryer for my tenants unit and it looks like a great unit, works great except the hose wont drain. So far no water building up in the actual machine but im curious if LG older fromt loaders are open in the bottom like this also..

Also on the top there is a detergent hose connected which often has several bends in the hose to route the detergent into the drum. If indeed they used a thick detergent, such as a shaved soap etc, this can gunk up the hose & block it. When this happens water will usually spill out at the top where the detergent tray slides in and out. Just thought I would add this little fyi for other folks that may be experiencing a situation in which may not be covered by a youtube video. It is this very reason as to why some manufacturers place detergent restrictions on some washers, could it be avoided by a better design? of course.
I'd like to check the drain hose on our washer, which is the exact same model as in the video. Unfortunately, ours sits on a pedestal. I had already decided to remove the front panel to access the heater element. Will I be able to disconnect the drain hose from the front after removing the front panel?
Just wanted to thank you for this in- depth video. I was able to fix my machine. Luckily, it was just clogged with what looks like old dry soap too. Again, thanks
My attempt at this yielded a problem where as screws that hold drain unit in were so rusted I couldn’t remove them so I had to take a grinder with metal cutting wheel and make a five by five inch hole on the left hand side at the lower front corner then was able to remove just the motor out thru this hole. Ordered one from Amazon, twen
I am. I’ve just been super busy lately. I am moving not only my family but my entire shop and all my appliances that I’m currently working on. As soon as I settle in I was thinking about making a small quick course on flipping appliances.
Thank you, I wouldn't have thought to look under the washer. I didn't think there would be an access panel under it. But sure enough, I tipped it slightly to the right and was able to easily access the tube. Lol mine had a sock stuck in it.
Great Help..... Thank You... Liked & Subscribed accordingly..... and funny part... that is the exact same washer..... Fixed up and ready...... FLIPPING TAKES 2.... LMAO Unless you are the TERMINATOR.... or you have Pocket Sand!!!! LMAO P.S. What was causing our problem....? Wife's cats and their hair...... pulled a hairball the same size as what you showed in the video.....
Hey good afternoon thanks for the video I have a two year old Samsung very similar to this one will not go through a regular wash cycle and it’s very intermittent doing anything else it fails and stops and if you hit start eventually you get a 3C code the diagnostic shows it as 3C2 I do notice when it fails the cleaning cycle there is a clicking noise coming from around the door but the lock seems to be working do you think this could be the door lock or is it more likely control board ? i’m going to check the inside of the drain pump but the filter and drains seem to be working and the unit does drain when you first cut it on to do any cycle. Thx for any help
"Dispenser Drain Hose" or "Bellow Drain Hose" I think... Gabe has posted a video about how to look up the parts diagram for basically any appliance and get model numbers and cross-reference numbers and the name of all of the parts... Check it out here. ruclips.net/video/9f9dxmEa-ho/видео.html

It's a coin!
I used a flash light and saw a coin stuck in the filter housing outlet.

How do you get to that piece ?
Great Help..... Thank You... Liked & Subscribed accordingly..... and funny part... that is the exact same washer..... Fixed up and ready...... FLIPPING TAKES 2.... LMAO
Unless you are the TERMINATOR.... or you have Pocket Sand!!!! LMAO P.S. What was causing our problem....? Wife's cats and their hair...... pulled a hairball the same size as what you showed in the video.....
Glad the video helped. I have seen some washers get completely clogged up with pet hair. It’s crazy how much hair will be in some machines.
Thank you! This is the fix we needed!
Glad to help
You did not actually show how you took it out. Not helpful!
I was waiting to find out how you get to that back piece too

Do you reset the washer after unplugging
If there’s a reset on the type of washer, I’m working on. I usually will do it. It usually will not hurt anything.
Thanks. What's that black part called?
"Dispenser Drain Hose" or "Bellow Drain Hose" I think... Gabe has posted a video about how to look up the parts diagram for basically any appliance and get model numbers and cross-reference numbers and the name of all of the parts... Check it out here.
