My personal opinion is that Pat is one of the best singing guitarists of all, AND Pat does the best covers of all. Y'all know what I'm talkin bout. I'm lucky, I've been in the presence of my hero, since 1978. (First time I saw Him). If you haven't seen Him ...go. He's still touring and slaying. The best part, is you never know what hammer he's going to hit you with. Pat Travers forever. The End.
Scott; u r so SPOT-ON!!!!! U can thank the COCKSUCKERS that control the American Music Industry 4 BLATANTLY DENYING the success he deserves in the U.S.A.
I saw Pat Travers in 86' at Tippatina's in New Orleans. Before he started the show he came out and said that two of his favorite guitars were stolen backstage and he was pissed and thinking of not playing. But he said F'$#&!it and offered a $1000 reward for the guitars and played the show anyway, and he was awesome!
So Good! I was at that show. I wish there was more video. They shut down that 4th&B venue. Been shuttered for years. Keep hoping that someone will buy it and get it going again.
Pat came to Stockton ca. few times at small venues. We became close I hung out with the band a few times good people great guitarist. What up Pat jam on.
I saw The Pat Traver Band back around 1980 when Pat Thrall was the lead guitarist. A high-energy show that was straight forward rock. I believe Thrall is now a producer for some record company.
Thanks for the update. Mr. Thrall was an incredible talent in those days. Besides his technical abilities, he had smooth transitions that gave him a distinct sound. Listen to a live PT album from this time and you will notice the different styles. I believe Dave LaRue occasionally plays bass for PT when he's not touring with Morse, Satriani, Vai, Flying Colors or any of the many other gigs he has.
Think Civil David Pastorius is PT's current bass player. Rodney O'Quinn was with PT for 8+ years. There are probably occasional gigs where the drummer of bass player can't make it though.
LaRue is from New Jersey and it was an East Coast show. He played that afternoon for Travers and traveled to play with the Steve Morse band the same night. So, it must have been a last minute emergency situation. Although in some bios, PT is listed as one of the bands he has played for. It's a small community with the musicians of that category and they all seem to know and help each other out. Is David Pastorius related to Jaco? Steve Morse went to the U of Miami School of Music in the early 70s and a couple of his classmates were Jaco Pastorius and Pat Matheney. Not a bad group of musicians! I've always tried to imagine what the instructor was thinking, or how he tried to reign these guys in. Rod Morgenstein met Morse in an improv class during this time and he said the instructor was always yelling at Steve. Jaco was the best.
i forgot about this guy now i remember thank you

P T has never ever failed us. And never ever will.
Pat Travers. He's such an underrated guitarist, he doesn't even show up on lists of underrated guitarists.
seems sac religious to cover an iconic Allman Brothers tune but Pat Travers can do no wrong. That tone!!!

I have such good memories of smoking' and toking and jamming' listening' to Pat Travers, where is he from?
The Great White North...
Pat's originally from Ottawa ontario.
That might explain why the first time I saw Rush. Pat Travers was the surprise special guest to open. Travers and Rush. Doesn't get much betta.
Best cover no doubt;
the question is was it better than Gregg ? I liked it better but I am a Pat Travers completest and a rocker at heart.
Kick ass sean
Sean, anymore videos from this show or Time???
Sweet
Even though this version is great, Frank Zappa’s version was so much better.
Not better -- different. Can't beat the Allmans at Fillmore mate. James from London. Just enjoy
