The Pat Travers Band performs "Stevie" at The Moondance Festival. with Sean Shannon (drums), Rodney O'Quinn (bass and vocals), Kirk McKim (guitar and vocals).
Have always loved this song, especially when he has a second guitar player, just fills it out perfectly. IMO one of his best songs, along with Snortin' Whiskey ❤
sean ur drumming in this tune at this show is just my fav by yours and pat's too and the rest of the guys sound great as well I moved to the house I live in for about 10 years now and the moondance show was on t.v. and my life felt whole when I hear this live take right here is something else thanks for all u have done for me in my life keep on drumming and ive been drumming over 20 years oh yeah
❤I CAN'T PLAY THE LIVE VER- SION OF STEVIE. I SAW PAT TRA- VERS AT THE COW PALACE WITH MY "THEN HUSBAND",MY BROTHER AND MY SISTER-IN- LAW WHAT A KICK ASS SHOW. THE ONE WARM UP BAND GOT BOOED OF THE STAGE.THEY HAD THE WORD DR. IN THEIR NAME.
I saw Pat Travers in 1979 and 1980.. (The Thrall Aldridge years) Then again with an entirely different band in 1988... but this is the first time I can say I've seen them play this song at the correct tempo... This is a slow song and it benefits from being played slowly (Harder said than done live, as we all know, live performances tend to be too fast)
I bought Makin’ Music and Puttin’ It Straigth due to the covers but this song blew my mind! Everything you hear on the the album on this song is played by guitars, no synths!
Life changes everything, understand it, but sure miss the 70's lineup, especially Mars & Tommy... no offense to these guys at all, but Mars's bass just SANG with Pat's songs, & Tommy's drums were perhaps the best in hard rock at the time (and yes, that includes Neil Peart).
lastdaysguitar Yup! I miss the original lineup too. What a great bunch of guys. And I agree about Tommy Aldridge. It was his double kick work that originally turned me into a Travers fan.
The original line up was fantastic and agree no disrespect to any of these musicians at all but Tommy Aldridge is a Monster musician and Mars was phenomenal
@@texasflood3165 Pat Thrall left the band in 1980. This is Kirk McKim on the other guitar. Kirk is a kick ass player. He was a perfect fit, like Thrall was. Too bad PT let him go and went back to a 3 piece. I think it came down to $$$.
as Travers said once in an interview, that was a smokin hot band, current line up is fine but the songs are played with different drumming, bass, and time signatures, rhythms etc.
Pat Travers 4 Ever ! Pat was way ahead of his time! His music is so relevant and will always be.
Seen pat 8 times thru the years. Never a bad show. Great song writing and a extremely talented musician.
Pat travers one of the greatest
Loved Pat since the mid 70's. Always an energetic show. Great songs too. An underated Gem. He and Mars were Making Magic.
I was blessed to see him 3 times.
Met him, Pat Thrall, Peter Mars Cowling and Tommy Aldridge at tower records in Mountain View 1978. #legends
I met him in Reno NV at bizarre guitar early 80s
Song has aged liked a fine wine with this incredibly beautiful rendition.
Have always loved this song, especially when he has a second guitar player, just fills it out perfectly. IMO one of his best songs, along with Snortin' Whiskey ❤
Pat Travers, Robin Trower and Tony Iommi, the greatests
The "Go For What You Know" rendition is immortal -- but ... I might like this one *even better*. This was magnificent.
Thanks Sean,Pat Travers one of my guitar heroes I've been playing guitar for 50+ yrs seen Pat many times
One of most original musicians ever truly under rated talent loved this song from the first time I heard it
Me too. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Pat.

One of things i dig about Pat, He sounds as good live, or better than the studio.

Awesome performance. Band is tight.
