Thank you for being so detailed and taking the time to point out every washer and small part. Super helpful for people like me who always think they’ll remember where everything goes in the end.
Thanks for the video. My machine suddenly started making a weird noise, as if the burrs are too tight against each other. I opened and cleaned both the bottom and top burrs, but it didn't fix the issue. One strange thing I've noticed is that I can only lock the top burr at the highest coarse setting. Even when it's locked, the knob becomes very tight when turning to lower settings, even just to number 12. The same noise persists, and this happens even without coffee beans in the system during testing. When I unlock and remove the top burr, I can easily turn the adjustment knob without any issues. It seems like something is causing the top burrs to be too tight when I put it back in. Another strange thing I found is that, in the video where you show the clutch assembly (@3:35), the shaft is tight to the gear with the nut. However, in my machine, I noticed that I can easily slide the shaft up and down. Is this normal as it seems unbelievable to happen all of a sudden on its own? Any hints or advice about the cause of this issue would be appreciated.
Excessive movement of the shaft to the clutch is not normal, the nut that holds the clutch assembly together may have loosened causing too much play. Sometimes the nuts can fall off altogether and the grinder will stop operating. Depending how tight that nut is will affect how easily the clutch will slip. If the nut is tight and you're still having issues, the brass bushing within the grinder housing may have moved out of place or there's some other wear or damage somewhere, hard to know exactly without seeing it.
Hi, great video. Do you know what spec the grinder motor is? Thinking about replacing it with a slower rpm motor with more torque. Do you think this would be possible, maybe with a dc motor?
I just took apart my smart grinder pro because it wouldn't turn anymore. Found this exact gear was broken. Could you share where you bought the replacement gear? I couldn't find anything online, atleast not for EU.
@@noidle22 I was trying to replace the main gear, I saw your video late, I had already unscrewed the clutch and the ball & spring came out, don't know how to assemble it back, do you have any video on how to put the clutch gear back together.
@@noidle22I need the grind motor, where can I buy this please for my sage barister touch. I am in the uk. Thanks for the video, giving me the confidence to have a go!!

Question sir , how do I install that plastic piece in the middle of the grinder, mine came off and for the sick life of me can’t align it back

I sell them on ebay and ship internationally from Australia. Search the part number, make sure you search for international listings.

@@Falcon5ive I don't sorry, have never seen the other gear fail or have any problems with it.
