Breville Coffee Grinder Stripped Gear Repair

Did your Breville smart grinder pro or Barista series espresso machine bite the dust? This video shows you how to replace the main drive gear inside the gearbox. I tried grinding some really small beans in mine one day. The motor quickly loaded and shortly after stripped the gear inside the gearbox. It makes an awful gear-skipping/grinding noise and the burr was completely stuck while the motor spun freely. Breville does not sell a replacement gear, rendering your expensive and otherwise perfectly good grinder totally useless. I decided to reverse engineer the original gear and have designed an improved, 3D-printed replacement that is available for sale on my Etsy store (link below).
This gear works for my Smart Grinder Pro (BCG820BSSXL) however I have heard that this same gear is also used in the Barista series espresso machine (like the 860XL). I would recommend disassembling your machine first, identifying the stripped gear, and then seeing if it matches the gear shown in the video or photos on my Etsy site.
