This totally deserved to win the contest. The definitive piece on what united us all back then into a one big family. Will always have a special spot in my heart
This makes me love the World of Warcraft even more. Many of those of us who remain playing the game today, and those who have moved on, can all admit- this game played a big part in at least our gaming lives, if not our lives in general. We met some good friends, shared some epic moments, and had fun doing it. Cheers to the good old times, and to the ones ahead.
+Grogritark I know the feels. I recently picked up warlords to play with a bunch of my friends that are still on it (quit after a week or so). It's just not the same feeling at all. I found myself telling them how much fun they missed with wintergrasp then actually enjoying the game. 6 years doesn't seem that long ago at all, but damn the time flew
***** Is the game still as casual as MoP/WoD? I enjoyed the old expansions more because of the difficulty of everything. When pulling three mobs by accident meant certain death or when it took a couple of months to get to level 80.
I just wanted to thank any and everyone involved in this video. It's a huge reminder of the fun I had playing WoW circa-wotlk and all of the friends and memories I had along the way.

+Questionable Object It seems like they're getting their shit together with Legion..... atleast I hope. So far end game content seems fun. And if Legion does turn out good then we still need to be careful going onward. From what I heard Blizz fired a lot of the people who worked on WoD so maybe they aren't all yes men. I'm SO happy they are trying new things like disc priest changes and killing off characters now I can fear for peoples lives a bit more.
mr.fuzzypants Two button rotations and complimentary Ashbringers are not a sign of getting their shit together. But seems a lot of the newcomers love that.
HCSR2 Some classes like fire mage are not that great and have, like you said, two button rotations. Some other classes are a bit better and more fun to play than others IMO. And also I do agree with you that everyone having legionaries is a horrible idea but I think I *might* be able to get past that because recently I've been seeing them more as stats than a weapon. We'll have to wait to see how that plays out but I think the end game might be pretty nice.
mr.fuzzypants They are not fixing the end game though, just reverting to what it was before it was broken. Raids and strats may seem cool, but when that's all the depth there is what is the point? Game used to have good raids and acceptable gameplay, why is it ok to only have one now? It's not utter shit, but it's very far from getting it back together. I hope people won't reward this mediocrity. Buying into their trash because "it could be worse" is exactly what led to WoD.

I really wish I could've experienced Wrath like everyone else did... From what I heard, it was a lot of fun. I, unfortunately, had the displeasure of experiencing two of the worst expacs in WoW, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria. Just my luck, eh? Good song, though.
Mists is far better than Cata. And nostalgia just makes people think vanilla and the rest were the best, when really, they all kinda sucked. (Just not as much as Cata.) Don't worry, you didn't miss much.
TeamOmega27 No BC layout was like perfect, Wrath's story was the best ever and improved BC features, the big one pally seals no longer fucking last 4 seconds.
Josh Gray You say that now but if you actually had a time machine and went back you would not enjoy it as much as you remembered. Every expac had its bad ends. I'm not saying they were bad but they were not perfect. Nothing is perfect, specially not a game. ;)
Josh Gray I didn't like TBC much, I liked Vanilla, for various reasons, here are 3 main ones: First up, the pvp wasn't about a small arena, it was about teamplay, that made it pretty epic when the plan worked, and made it more amusing to strive for it. Secondly, the gear was extraordinary, they didn't just recolor some half-okay gear for all gear-types(Cloth/Plate/Leather), the gear was epic especially T2 for most classes. Thirdly, and this is truly the main one it was by far, the best game at the time, both of it's kind and otherwise. And since it was new, as a genre aswell, the clefts between players weren't as deep, generally speaking. Besides in general - at least on the EU-servers I played on -, ppl weren't as asshole-ish as they are today(Not excluding myself). Wotlk was awesome, sure it had the most unbalanced start of any wow-expansion yet. DK's and Paladin's were downright divine compared to the rest, but they started to balance it out quite quickly. And the dungeons were epic, perhaps not so hard untill Ulduar, but fun all the same, and if you went for achievements, even Naxx was insanely hard to start with. And yes, Ulduar is quite possibly the hardest raid I've ever played through, given that I didn't try ICC out at once(I am talking about the later bosses, the first few were pretty easy, especially the first one). ICC was epic, really good story, good boss fights insanely hard in the start(No BS on this one plx, I know it got insanely nerfed, but not even the top-guilds managed to get it before they nerfed it. Besides which, they nerfed it bit by bit. For a long time, it was really, reaaaallly hard). The greatest disappointment in Wotlk was T9, same problem as with the last of the TBC pvp sets, all with the same models only recolored. Same with the raid they added with it, just a small arena, with one amusing last boss(actually getting nostalgic about it now...), far too easy and pretty booring, all in all. But they made up for it with the tournament event etc they added and with how epic they made ICC. And as most claim is their main interest although generally speaking, it really isn't. The PvP, was amazing in Wotlk. Best one by far, most balanced(for a time there), most amusing(of the arena pvp's) and it also looked spectacular. Yes the DK's were OP for a long time, as were the Paladin's, but that ended only a couple of months in. And once they got that balance right, they pretty much got it perfect, for the first and last time I can remember in WoW history, the only ones with the smallest hint of unbalance were the disc priests. And for a time, even they were completely fine. Yes perhaps one class was a little below all the others, but at least none of them were OP compared to all the rest. I wasn't completely focused on pvp at the time, something I now regret. But for the first time ever, none of my mates were roaring about some class being op. Yes someone grumbled a little when it went bad, but only when it was going bad in their current arena matches, and only a select somewhat-bitchy-few. Not when they were discussing pvp while raiding etc, in those talks they actually agreed, again and again, that things were actually quite okay now. And these were several different teams, with different setups, all okay with the situation. It was truly an amazing time for WoW. And then came Cata, added a few sweet perks. And broke sooo much more. Yes, we wanted to fly in Azeroth, no we didn't want you to break our game and change it completely. Yes, we wanted the Hc's to be a little harder, no we didn't want you to make them unplayable for half the former pve-players(at the start). Yes, we wanted mighty foe to break, and something surprising. No we did not want a baby-mouthed dragon with braces on our loading screen, or some solo-lore-breaking ancient, going toe to toe with the world and only having problems because of great fundamental insanity. Besides, a dragon as the main boss? Really? How original, how very much disappointing, random and weak. And then we have... Mists of Pandaria... Pseudo-joke, pseudo-serious. Lore-breaking(those isles replaced the isles raised by Gul'dan, along with the so called Tomb of Sargeras) and made the game into a fairy tale land for 5yr olds. "Welcome to the toilet road down to disaster, take the blizztard-ticket and pay your way to disappointment/misery!". Despite the several bad things I heard about it, despite hating the very idea from the start, despite my better reason, a friend of mine convinced me to return for a time. And while I was not disappointed, as I expected the worst, I can't say I was happy in there. The best times I had, was when I went to plough my way through old dungeons for transmog gear. The triggers of nostalgia, the beatiful gear and so much better story made me smile, it was like getting the chance to sandbox-around in my old game, jumping through memories of when it was a challenge to do it all. But seriously, that was not worth my money, so thats where my WoW-gaming, once again. Took a permanent ending(If you missed it, I stopped before MoP started, and stopped again after trying it out).
