I own 5 pairs of their footwear(2 Chelsea boots, 1wingtip Oxford,1 loafer and a Double monk, and they fit as if they were made for me. Ace Marks quality is also excellent.
@@40OverFashion Another shoe brand to look into is Thomas bird. They're out of London but they ship very quickly. Shoes are very beautiful. The fit is identical to Ace Marks. They cost a little more but you get a little more. I recently picked up a pair of chocolate brown Chelsea boots from them. They're absolutely stunning. I'm currently thinking about pulling the trigger on their blue double monk strap shoes.
Excellent video thank you! My experience with online shopping has not been good so far. I truly like Ace Mark shoes and want to make it work with them. I purchased 3 Ace Marks, could not return two (monks and the blue sneakers) they fit kind of ok in the morning, but by 4pm I just wanted to walk barefoot, it turns out I needed a full size up to compensate for width, but now I’m down about $600.00. The third shoe I returned and got a size 13E (Wingtip), my wide feet appreciate the width but the length, well I find the shoe can slide just a little bit from the heal. I’ll use them a little more and see if they improve. By the way, same thing happened with Paul Evans, bought recommended size, had to return for a full size up, because of the width. I’m taking advantage of a trip to NY this month, going to try Allen Edmonds now, as I need a good fit, and still need five shoes, two boots and two sneakers, as I gave away the old ones, and do want to step up in Quality. Your comments about AE decline in Quality now have me worried. Any advise. 47 year old, Expat
Are all shoe types true to the size chart they tell you to download? Because from my experience with other brands, I usually have to size down when I wear moccasins or loafers.
Ace marks seems to make good shoes but i hate buying shoes online it's always better to fit them in person there's slimmer chance i would buy the wrong size. Free shipping back & forth in case of bad fit would be great though. Ace marks sneakers look better than greats (just my personal opinion).
Thanks Bernard! I understand the online buying thing, but that's why we watch these reviews to see if they fit true to size or not. :) The sneakers are nice!
It's my birthday next month...so I went over to Acemarks and finally bought the 15 pairs of footwear (12 shoes and 3 sneakers) that I had waiting in my cart. I probably will never need to buy another pair of shoes (but of course I will). ;) My only problem now is making room in my bedroom for all the new foot furniture that's about to take up residence!
@@40OverFashion Thank you!. I mean if I walk couple of kilometers during the day. I corrected above (not work but walking). I have British loake which is very hard and not convenient. Always get some pain in a legs. Ace Mark looks very nice but no idea how will be in practice.
Great question! I'm not an insider, but since Allen Edmonds sold (or maybe it was a new CEO), I hear they're struggling to make a profit and I'm hearing about quality issues.
Upon watching this video a second time I couldn't help but think how cool the sneakers would look if you swapped out the laces for some red ones for the upcoming 4th of July holiday. Red laces , white soles and blue leather uppers. Would also go well with one of your red white and blue Nato straps. BTW my 5 pack arrived today and can't wait to take them for a test drive.
I have been curious about ACE Marks footwear for awhile. I like the color and style of shoes that they have. I am impressed by the fact that they are hand crafted. The only thing holding me back from a purchase was it does matter how good the shoes look if they are uncomfortable. You answered my main concern! Thanks
You will have to let us know after awhile how the Ace Marks sneakers compare to your Paul Evans sneakers. I've never owned a pair of Ace Marks but I definitely like the burgundy cap toe shoes.
Those Oxfords look beautiful! Now what kind of dark denim are those? I have a pair of their blue and brown suede and leather sneakers and I really enjoy them! Thank you for the content you create!
Hi there, after seeing your video, ready to take the plunge with Ace Marks. I am a fan of burgundy but the last pair from Saks Fifth Outlet, changed color after the first raindrop, so a little bit weary. I am thinking of ordering Whole Cut Carlo in Diablo Antique. Do you have any recommendations in any of the color choice? They have Tramonto Patina which looks very sweet but two-tone
They have some incredible color options! For me, I didn't have anything in the oxblood/burgundy family, so I ordered the burgundy cap-toe and I'm incredibly happy I did!
When are you going to address the elephant in the room? The lack of videos covering hats. Isn't that one of the best parts of being over 40, confidently looking stylish in something other than a ball cap? Or are you just content to flaunt your thick head of over 40 hair in our face. :-) Seriously, I struggle how to pair hats with different looks.
Ha! Thanks for the suggestion! :) Honestly, the only time I wear a hat is first thing in the morning when I'm out doing my cardio. I'm not a hat expert, so I wouldn't want to half-ass it. I'll do some research on the topic though. :)
Great looking shoes. These videos are really helpful. I have a hard time spending that much money on dress shoes because I don’t wear them often. Just don’t get the ROI on expensive dress shoes or suits. I gravitate towards Chelsea and chukka boots in the fall and winter and loafers, drivers and sneakers in the spring and fall.
Nice job - possibly in the future could you do a video that compares Ace Mark with Paul Evans ? Both seem to be in the same area of DTC shoes for men, although P.E. seems to be at a slightly higher price point. Thanks again for the videos, always enjoyable.
Nice looking shoes, total loafer guy myself, always have been, lust like the look...if I can find a wingtip style in a loafer or boot and they look good and are comfortable, I’m sold...the sneakers are cool and you actually inspire me to get my first pair of “dress” sneakers...thanks!
I completely agree about shoes from Ace Marks. I own two pairs and have a third on order from their last factory access sale. They have the best sizing guide of any online store I’ve looked at too. The only thing keeping me from owning more of them is money. 😁
Hey John, Nice shoes, I checked out their site and videos. They were every informative and I learned something new about fitting that I didn’t know. I also had shoes that they were sizing so that helped me if I wanted to purchase their shoes. Thanks for the video and a new shoe brand to try out…
I’ll be trying them. I like the fact that they are “true to size”. I don’t like the guessing game when manufacturers say “fits a little large” but don’t tell you how much or in respect to what. Thanks for the review and the discount code.
Thanks Ed! It's actually the room I'm in. I have a boom mic just out of the bottom of the frame. I need more soft material in the room. I hear it too. Gotta work on that.

Hey john, just wondering if you can give me some advise on some shoes that aren't to dressy to wear causally. I really like all of the shoe's you have recommended in the past but I'm just not conformable wearing them in a casual setting. thanks !

how the sizing on them? Ate they true to size?
very slick and savvy - hoping they do worldwide delivery - ain't from the US. ;)

Hey I know this video is a few years old, but I was wondering what the patina is on the wingtips. Is that brown or cognac? Thanks!

Once you arrive at a certain age, one may find tying shoes difficult. Fashionable slip-ons are needed!

Do they make shoes in wide widths? Like EEE
Can you give you opinion on their shoe lining?
It doesn’t seem to absorb conditioners. I’m concerned about its longevity.
So far, so good! I haven't had any issues whatsoever.
wat can I wear with white jeans shoes and shirt wise
I have yet to try a pair of ace marks but those hightop sneakers you got from them look amazing! I'll eventually snag myself a pair
They’re really nice! You’ll love then Richard!
Hello
Is whole-cut shoes convenient for walking? I have bad experience with some other Oxford shoes.
Whole cuts are more formal, so if your workplace is more buttoned up, you might be just fine.
