- Let's take a look back at the 1996 release of Alien Trilogy for the Sony Playstation. While there is a negative stigma of many movie tie-in games from the era, Probe delivers a game worthy of the Alien Franchise.

One of my fave games from back in the day, i still play it nowadays lol
I am commenting as a form of channel engagement, as I support and enjoy the content it presents.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Man the memories I had playing this game. It was such a blast and I hope they remaster it eventually.
A remaster would be pretty cool.
This and Alien Resurrection were the best Alien games i ever had a chance to play and they remained as such until Alien Isolation came out over 15 years later. It scared the crap out of me as a kid (i was 6, i should not have played it but i did :P) I am Glad i have both of them. Thx for reviewing this one, hope to see Alien Ressurection ps1 in the future that game was the one that started the analogue DualShock control system and i still can't believe critics said it was bad back than cause now it is a stable for all modern gaming.
Thanks! I have Alien Resurrection and plan on doing a video eventually. I've heard good things.
@@flizzzipper Dude the price for this GAME HAS EXPLODED. You have to review it now during the hype. like its unbelievable.
@@Bird-Birdy-Love Yeah, it's gone crazy after MVG put out his video on it's disc swap secret. It would have been a great time to do a video but I've already got a couple in the works and I want to get a Playstation mouse before I work on AR.
My god that music hunts me till this day
Didn't play this one as much as Resurrection on the PS1, but still a great game. Actually pretty atmospheric.
You’re videos are fantastic. I love the format and style. Thank you for making them.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching!
Seen a few of your videos and enjoyed them enough that I thought I'd subscribe, hope this channel grows and it's audience
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words.
Came for the Alien Trilogy, stayed for the sweet minimalist room.
I'm VERY particular about videos I watch and I'm impressed with these! Well edited, well presented, no e-begging or telling me how to use the subscribe button. It feels like you care about there subject matter, and all I'd want is for you to go into more detail. Well done!
Thank you for the kind words. Still learning and trying to do better with each one. I appreciate it.
Great video. This earnt my sub ❤️
nice im gonna learn how to speedrun Aliens vs predator on the Atari Jaguar soon, im in a little compettiion for 10 more days
this was actually my first PS1 game, I got it when I got my PS1 for Christmas in 1996 (along with Myst). The game had an atmosphere unlike anything else back when it came out.
Second game for me, after Street Fighter Alpha. It was a magical time to grow up with the changing tech of gaming.
Rad! New content. :) I'll be sure to watch this later on my main account. Good stuff keep it up~
Good game, but some levels are way too dark to play outside in the sun, or during travel.
I've a Miyoo Mini and see nothing, because it's so dark.
You should do a vid on Driver. I started to replay it the other day and the gameplay still holds up!
Driver is a big blind spot for me, I know I need to play it eventually. I've heard nothing but good things.
Great looking movie tie-in for the day.
Sweet. Please do resurrection too!
I plan to at some point.
Still better than Prometheus
More reviews buddy ❤😊
I wish I had more time to finish more videos, I hope to get them out a little more frequently.
Seems interesting movie aspects or game. I have no experience with the series but know of it and seen some videos about some of the games that's about it.
The shots seem very Doon and for what it is not surprised due to the controllers limits of the time so it wouldn't be fair for 3D aiming and too hard. Regardless of a strafe or auto aim as good as it was for the time but the shot looks fair in game.
The FMV 3D isn't too bad. The bobbing head of the character at the terminal seemed odd but the scenes are cool for the time.
The 2D characters make sense as the environments might have been very taxing on the hardware and fairly detailed also no idea how much darkness or not does to hardware seen a homebrew games where it's dark be less taxing on the hardwarebut maybe the 3D and the level sizes are large so it led to impressive locations. I don't know. Maybe w the Xenomorphs, Facehuggers and more would have been too complex of polygon models or were used to 2D sprite work. Maybe the Saturn port they had planned so they made it easier on themselves. Maybe animations worked better with sprites then 3D. Or their budget. Anything is possible why they back tracked on 3D enemies. Or however the hand/gun firing animations are too.
That or time constraints. Or a 3D to 2D like Donkey Kong Country maybe?
The enemies seem fair for the time.
Either way interesting review.
Watched every video and I came across the channel with Reloaded of all games randomly at a store, never heard of it or many PS1 games got it with Tunnel B1 which I think I'd heard of the PC version or games like it of such movement and environments and been watching all your videos ever since.
Yes, good observations on the character models. Ultimately I'd rather have the game run smooth than to have polygonal character models. Thanks for watching!
lol when you put in the disc and turned the ps1 on
it was unplugged!
Nah it's on and plugged in, you just can't see the light come on due to the exposure cause I have it lit really bright with a box light. Also I have no idea what I'm doing with my camera lol.
Unfortunately, it was released on console back where fps was a nightmare to play due to poor controls. Even on PS2, most fps games are dreadful to play. Fps on consoles just suck.
True enough. This is only the second FPS I've played through and beaten on a console, (first being Goldeneye.) But the whole keyboard and mouse advantage wasn't completely obvious, at least to me, back in the mid 90's. I had a 486 PC with Doom 1 and 2 before I even had a PS1 and I know I played it mostly with a joystick, lol.
Classic game.
