Manufacturers don't care about you. Stock ROMs can be abandoned few months after release, when a new and more expensive phone is released. LineageOS is made by volunteers who rely on the same phone as you for their daily activities, and they dedicate themselves to provide support for years to come. Lenovo kept promising Android 7 since 2016. The threshold has long passed and nothing. I jumped to Lineage and got Android 7.1.2 (LineageOS 14.1), now I can install without fucking proprietary Google apps and enjoy root access to customize it as I see fit. This is freedom, folks.
I got 7.0 nougat in my lenovo k6 power and it sucks. there is a issue in CPU. it clocks down automatically. also the network isnt stable and there was stuttering in animations. Lenovo is the worst company when it comes to updates. i had to flash it back to marshmello again.
But battery is still the best on stock, better than any custom rom (be it AOSP or LOS). I'm not considering SOT as it varies on usage, but stand-by drain is most efficient on stock rom as of now, and as xposed is out for nougat (oreo also) we can actually customize stock just as much as in any custom rom (like resurrection remix)... but yeah, I will definitely switch to custom oreo roms as soon as oreo specific bugs (camcorder and flashlight) are fixed... kudos to all developers who spend their time on these awesome custom roms, kernels, recoveries...
Nicely put together! I'm flummoxed to see how you chose to test speed; surely the same tools used to optimize Linux boot time on PCs should be applied rather than nicely inventive mouseclick cues, and surely it makes more sense to measure the speed of going from Twicca to Opera or Messenger (to pick a trio,) and using fast word entry/composition keyboards, as better measures? It's just an odd choice measuring stuff only to make not much of a conclusion on why it's slower, given the same OS level 6.2, 7.1, 8.0 whichever. I didn't recognize the phone or see it in links, for whatever's wrong with me. :) Wait, does this mean Lineage doesn't even let you pick your own CPU speeds and controller? So much for picking up from CyanogenMod! Thanks again for having investigated things and shared.
Dude when u flash lineage the kernel also changes and that may include the cpu governor and clock speed which could be why lineage is slightly slower. It could also be that Motorola optimized the stock rom better so performance may also depend on the effort into optimization. Don't mean to criticize, it is still an awesome video.
Sorry.. but these tests doesnt make much sense... Becase it has very variable the speed, depending on the hour, services running, clock of the cpu in the time. A benchmark and heavy emulator fps, would be sort of better... Actually if the android has made any caache file the app would open faster....
in my case lineage runs WAY more faster than the stock Rom. i got a score of 73000 in antutu benchmark with lineageos 14.1 Galaxy s5 plus. (sm g901f) (stock rom smth about 50000 score)
Good Video! ...i don't like Stock Roms i mean if you have a Phone like an old Samsung 8 GB Smartphone the Stock Rom will take like 4 GB! with Lineage you have like the Newest Android Version that takes only up to 2,5 GB! Lineage OS ist the best :D
The custom roms seems like a good idea, but after month of using then you start seeing bugs that weren't too obvious when you just flashed the ROM. I was experimenting with custom roms, but I am glad I no longer have to. I enjoy stock rom.
Lineage drains your battery really fast. It's a fast Rom but that just the issue. I stop using this ROM because of that, also it put my phone on a long bootlop and never turn back on. I think the motherboard was damaged because of the heat that this ROM makes of on the battery
Bro I have used almost all custom ROM. Everything has some pros and cons. But stock rom is best. Company has spent lots of money for developing that ROM as compared to custom rom . And also we have to compromise with the privacy when we go for custom ROM. It's better to use nova launcher prime with Zooper or kwlp instead of cheap custom ROM
I always prefer speed test of apps by opening them one by one! I don't like how people compare them by setting a stopwatch and opening all the apps quickly!
Install AOSP ROM it has more customization than lineage OS. Lineage 7.1 based ROM gave me better battery backup than 8.1. But now I'm running AOSP 8.1 and the only reason is high customization.
When u want to do comparison between two devices and tests, you should check benchmarks quotes, software where we can see processors, etc. open apps, games and other stuff is not the correctly way to do it
Performance comparison? Where? You just opened the applications and closed them. I know you want to show your skills but you should consider showing benchmarks.
theprogame66 dude I just have question...iam in lollipop 5.1 in Honor 5x L22...can i directly root and install noughat/lineage custom ROM or do I need to upgrade to marshmallow and then flash custom noughat?
Clear case of great optimization in the stock ROMs(in this video), If your stock ROM is well optimized then lineage is slower But otherwise Lineage is worth the shot
@everyone who's making fun of his accent. It's not that bad lol. Have you guys seen the other Tech pages on RUclips. This guy out here is tryna give y'all an honest review. Respect a brother and give him a thumbs up for it.
I have a moto g4 and I'm considering installing Lineage OS on it but will I be able to install my "moto" app? I mean the app for gesture like shaking the phone to turn on the light and stuff...
Please help me. My moto G4 plus heats up everytime. Battery also drains quickly. Currently on stock rom. Should I change rom or is there any way to solve heating issue and battery draining?
Hey shlok, do you have solution to disable the phone vibration while locking/unlocking the phone with fingerprint scanner on moto g4 plus (without root)
Stock ROM is totally faster and better than others ... It takes longer to load for you because the icons are not on Stock ROM's home screen but There are on LineAge OS's :D so That's how you simulated and tried to make it faster ... BTW why don't you use a Text-to-Speech Engine ? We can understand that better than yours :D ... and last thing ... maybe the setups and configurations are different :DDD ... ADVICE for beginners and non-developer users : DO NOT USE CUSTOM ROMS
White skin's english grammer is too poor our English is so pure..your English (That you Indian>thatch you white skin, How do you Indian> how duju White skin)...F### your white skin english...
After I flashed it in one plus 5, i get audio-video issue. When i plug my headphone in both video and audio lags in youtube, mp3, mp4 etc. But if i take off headphone video, audio works again.
when I install invecta os on my Moto g4 plus it work fine but using the rom for some time my phone automatically switch off and the led starts blinking
+Ronit Agarwal You should visit the XDA thread of the ROM and see if you can find something. Remember that clean flashing should be step one if you face bugs on a dirty flashed ROM.
Why though? Stock roms have all features working. Often times lineageos has broken features and is maintained by someone you don't know what they did to it. Root and uninstall bloat is the optimal path. You might get data sniffed otherwise
hey you can get on your pc and put your phone into download mode, once thats done simply look for your stock firmware and run using odin which you can find online for free, run it and soon yull be back on your feet. :)

I'm waiting on lineage 15.1 for the nextbit 😎

I m watching it today😂....Khushiyan faila di jaye
Oh bhai😂
Yes bhai🔥🔥🔥
Clever timing method. Great analysis.
Great videos. Also really nice touch with the audio peak. Very clever.
in my case lineage runs WAY more faster than the stock Rom.

a month? try 1 day. LTE super unreliable on my tmobile note 3 since i flashed lineage os 14.1
Thanks for the video. Ill keep my stock rom on redmi a 4.Before had a galaxy s4 mini, the lineage worked much faster than stock rom.
Lineage drains your battery really fast. It's a fast Rom but that just the issue.

osk4rin Use a custom kernel
Aditya Patil so how do I choose what kernel I want?
This is old but were you using a nexus 6p? If you were the bootloop issue was a manufacturing defect.
It's just one custom rom, there are a ton of them for your need and customizability. Stock roms Suck.
off the "turn on screen by double tap"
Bro I have used almost all custom ROM. Everything has some pros and cons. But stock rom is best. Company has spent lots of money for developing that ROM as compared to custom rom . Winter Soldier no stupid post. Often the stock ROMs are the worst

0:32 Here it is...
Vikas Poonia you fucked or what?
Vikas Poonia tttttttttt5tttttt5
I've noticed that you're using Google Camera App. Is the video working? It is not working on my XT1642 wit LineageOS...
Thanks!
I think CyanogenMod/linage is because of more features and still stock
Hybrid7 00x I know but if linage advertised on tv/RUclips and told the main points why it is better that will show people
The CPU governor works probably different between the ROMs. So you can't really compare.
tech burner can you make a video comparison of temperature results while gaming, video recording in stock rom vs custom rom.. for moto g4 plus.
a proper speed test ! . c4et should learn from you. please add memory test also
Who was expecting shlok's pressurized voice and the table hit
I don’t like people with heavy accents but your amazing new subscriber!!
In benchmarking Stock ROM is like a bit ahead! but I'd say benchmark doesn't relate to the real life use!✌
Nailed it bro😍🔥
I have lineage os (7.1) on my Honor 5x and its doing much greater than with android 6.0.1 emui 4.1
Same with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X; it is way better with Lineage 14.1 than with MIUI 8/9 :D
theprogame66 dude I just have question...iam in lollipop 5.1 in Honor 5x L22...can i directly root and install noughat/lineage custom ROM or do I need to upgrade to marshmallow and then flash custom noughat?

Congratulations For 200K (2 Lakh) Family Member's Brother
Please help me. My moto G4 plus heats up everytime. Battery also drains quickly. Currently on stock rom. Should I change rom or is there any way to solve heating issue and battery draining?

Calibrate Battery when your cell phone reaches 100%.
You will need ROOT.
Iam using lineage 14.1 in my lenovo a7000 more user friendly and fast compared to my stock mashmallow rom
Just a question. Everytime i want to watch a phone video someone from india upload it. Is the phone trend more an india trend or something?
What launcher is it? I lost my fav launcher after install gapps but im forget the launcher name is.
Trebuchet launcher. It is official lineage os launcher
is there any chance of data leakage in custom ROM
Please, make a test with LineageOS and MIUI8
I think lineage is a bit faster compared to miui
Yeah , i will do more of these speed tests!
Tech Burner thank you very much!
wanted to know whether it has vibrate on call connect option !!?
After I flashed it in one plus 5, i get audio-video issue. When i plug my headphone in both video and audio lags in youtube, mp3, mp4 etc. But if i take off headphone video, audio works again.
What phone you use?
LineageOS or Stock ROM?
GB/MB RAM?
GHz?
Cores?
Type all and I may help you!
when I install invecta os on my Moto g4 plus
it work fine but using the rom for some time my phone automatically switch off and the led starts blinking
It could be a bug in the rom!
+Ronit Agarwal You should visit the XDA thread of the ROM and see if you can find something. Remember that clean flashing should be step one if you face bugs on a dirty flashed ROM.
same happened to me. your device is soft bricked. go to the service centre. the total cost will be 1200.
All about phone... I mean stock 4.3 of S3 isn't better than LOS
When I use Google camera on lineage os for Moto g4 plus, it's really slow, is there anyway to make it work better
use cameringo or open camera. Or reflash it using gapps aroma and dont select the google camera. the lineage camera is a bit faster than google camera
counterfetch8 lol I'm using RR and using stock camera with a flashable zip that enables it
Tried lineage ROM but my internal storage disappeared
Bhai mujhe asus ZenFone 2 laser ZE550kl mai custom OS install karna hai kyunsa kari RR ki Lineage..which have bug free.?
Why though? Stock roms have all features working. Often times lineageos has broken features and is maintained by someone you don't know what they did to it. Root and uninstall bloat is the optimal path. You might get data sniffed otherwise
Custom ROMs are more secure than stock.
Lineageos is not as good as the old cyanogenmod. Almost 1 year of nougat and still no stable build. Still has many buga.
lul
Hououin Kyouma lineageos 14.1 is stable on my galaxy note 3 with updates every 2 weeks
lineage os is so much better than the marshmallow update on the s5, everything is buttery smooth on lineage os
Great video man! I was specifically looking for these speed tests
If you installed lineage os a bit ago, then the stock should open faster because of it's chache
so one of the best youtubers from India comes up with another awesome video😎

Tech Burner Which version of Google Camera did u use in this video...Because in my moto g4 plus running on lineage os no version seems to work
