    Put your acceleration in "CHILL" mode and you'll get all the range you get in any gas car. If you're in Standard, no matter how you try to ease into accelerating, the torque will wear the tires down fast. In chill mode you'll get often better range out of a tire than a gas car. I drive Uber, so i put 1800 miles a week on my car. I don't burn through tires!!!!

      Funny, I'm pretty good at having a light touch, but there are times when it's easy and or fun to overdue the acceleration.

    When my OE Continentals need replacement, I'll probably try out the Hankook tires. The advantage in range would be enough for me to switch, with improvements in noise level and comfort being nice additional features.

    Switching to these tires next week, I got the Michelin Pilot 4 sport all season, they were much louder than than the OEM tires and I noticed a loss in efficiency, I don’t have a heavy foot and I drive in chill mode everyday, that being said I was able to get 55k out of them vs the stock tires I got 35k.

    My Michelin pilot sport as tires last only 28,000 miles. Put these on over the summer. Similar performance, quite, performs well in snow and rain. I will not be putting another tire on my Tesla 3 performance. Love them

      Having continental extreme contact on my model y right now, I'm hesitant to move over to the hankooks for fear of losing traction in wet and or snow conditions.

      My Michelin Pilot Sport's on my Model Y Performance are at 16k miles and are at 3/32 on the rear tires already and need replaced. I drove it like crazy when I first got it, but I calmed down pretty quick once the hype wore off. I've never had a tire only last 16k miles.
      I'm really interested in getting these tires as my replacements.

    I just put on Bridgestone Turanza 18 inch on my 2022 model 3. Smooth ride and good in heavy rain during drive from BC interior to Calgary. Original Michelin tires did approx 45k and had 3mm tread left.

    I put on a set of 18in Sailun Erange tires on my 2022 M3 RWD. Also quieter and smoother than the OEM Michelins; range seems a bit better. $1250cdn installed.

    I picked Nitto Invo's for my Model 3 Performance. They are a Japanese tire and have the sexiest tread pattern EVER! They handle very well in all conditions, they hold up well and are an all-around solid tire. I always get compliments on the tread pattern as well since it's so unique and individual. I highly recommend going with the Nitro Invo's! I cannot put Hankook or Kumho tires on any of my vehicles no matter what. I have just always thought of them as cheap Hyundai or Kia tires and I just don't like the name and the design of the tire but that's just my honest opinion I think it cheapens the car look.

    This is the tire I'll put on our 2023 Bolt EUV when it needs new ones. That might be a while since it's my wife's daily driver and her commute is only 28 miles total. Maybe by the time it needs tires the next gen EV tires will be out.

      Since I live close to the USA border and have a 3 week trip from Vancouver to New Orleans and back, Discount was a good option for me. Just be sure to check on limited warranty. I was told at 1010 Tires in Langley they don't do warranty on Tesla's because of the weight. Seemed strange to me as I just bought a set of tires for my wife's Audi. Anyway, just something to look into.

    I've never got more than 30k out of a tyre. This is driving a 1.6 litre turbo diesel Citroen grand Picasso.
    I do live in the UK though, and we have mandatory vehicle safety checks every year, so I wonder whether our US residents dont, and sone drive until their tyres are actually dangerous?
    Most of the 340,000 miles I did in that car were on motorways, so quite good roads, quite straight, with not much stopping and starting...

    I have yet to try them. Only issue with EV tires is you really can’t plug them if you get a nail in your tire. I almost went with those tires, but the Michelin pilot sport 4 XL A/S is an awesome tire, in my opinion. The noise level isn’t really that bad. Wondering what tire Tesla will use on the new Highland performance model 🤔

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  8 месяцев назад +3

      The new highland is using this tire. This one of the reasons I went with this tire. As for patching the tire, I got my tires from Discount Tire,so if they can’t repair it, I get a new one.

    • @gust9464
      @gust9464 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@BCTeslaGuy I know, I will most likely get the performance model. I was saying, I don’t think the Highland performance model will have these tires. Yes, thats a good thing, but if your in a pinch & need a plug it won’t work. The decibels on the Michelin aren’t that much different.

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  8 месяцев назад +1

      You are correct, they won’t use these ones. It will need performance rated tires

    • @android04
      @android04 6 месяцев назад +5

      These tires and any others with the sound deadening foam can be repaired, and any shop that tells you they can't is trying to screw you over. You can also plug them with a regular plug kit, I've done it

    • @splocal
      @splocal 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@android04I was just thinking that. Like why would a piece of foam inside prevent me from inserting a rubber plug to patch a nail hole? It wouldn’t.
      Unfortunately my Falken rear tires wore out on my model S in 12 months. I’m considering these since they have the warranty and are reportedly quiet and smooth.

  • @howardlerner4958
    @howardlerner4958 6 месяцев назад +1

    I purchased a full set of these on 7/28/23. They worked great on my Tesla Model Y until this past weekend. I had a nail in my rear drivers side tire. Flat Tire on interstate 75 in Bonita, Florida. Had to be flatbed towed to Tire Kingdom in Naples, Florida. Tire Kingdom said that these Hankook Ion EV Tires are not repairable due to the foam inside the tire. He said it would be too difficult to remove the foam to patch the tire. I couldn’t find any tire shop that sold Hankook Ion EV tires in Naples so I was forced to replace it with Michelin. Really disappointing situation.

    • @BCTeslaGuy
      @BCTeslaGuy  6 месяцев назад +3

      This is why I purchased the tire certificates from Discount Tire. If the tire is unrepairable, they replace it free of charge. I've repaired my OEM tire in the past which has foam without issue.
