Hi, there is no requirement of specific subject for IFS. It is given to as per your rank. There are many interviews on internet you can search for vikram grewal, saurabh sablok,kanishka singh, suyash chawan.

@@Songdilse34 No brother, all IFS officers have to spend 50% of their carrier in Delhi doing desk work and 50% Abroad in the Embassy. But this can be changed as per the officers request, some officers spend almost 90% of their time in Delhi and only a few years abroad. Some complete their desk duty I delhi in early days of their joining and then spend their entire life Abroad in the Embassy. So yeah you will have choice.
What if I already know a language like for example I knew German language . So what now do still I have to go to Germany or should I choose any new language ?

There is a list of subjects you can opt for in mains phase. It is there is the notification. Yes political science is there. To qualify for IFS you dont need a specific subject but good rank.

If German is allocated to you, you should get proffesional study from the school in the language. It doesnt count if you know the language.
It would actually be much easier for you, otherwise the language courses abroad are quite stressful.

Prepare my friend prepare for exams, you are newbie, don't worry about cadet. And getting a home state is very rare scenario as IAS and IPS officer.
