    Excellent footage Dan. Thank you for taking us along with you on such a beautiful flight. My familys property was almost dead center of totality. It was truly an awesome experience. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies my friend 🇺🇸🛩️

    Thanks for this video. My plane is down for avionics so we had to watch from the ground. Watching the emotions and joy on Stef's face was fantastic.

    Nice, Dan! Very dramatic. Chewy seems unimpressed.

    I made a similar flight in 1979 and followed the eclipse totality center over the Columbia River between Washington and Oregon. I was in a C182 and ended up about 13,000 above everyone else. I used a mylar shield over my telephoto lens and actually got some excellent stills. Seeing this was an excellent refresher what we experienced as it was so long ago that details are fuzzy.

    That was awesome. I live in Ohio and we had 100% totality. It was awesome seeing from the ground but would have been cool to see it from the air. Thanks for sharing.

    Now that would be awesome to see out of a plane. Here in Central Missouri we only had 3/4 Coverage. I used my drone an went up 250 ft the highest filter i had was 256. I Needed a 2000. To get great pictures. Now 6 years ago the Eclipse we had was 100% coverage I got great pictures of it. The one 6 years ago it was all the way dark. I use my welding helmet to get pictures using my phone. Lot of people don't know a welding helmet works so great. That was awesome seeing it from the plane.😊

    Check your footage for a comet that should be just about visible during the totality. Nice shot of Jupiter (? I think) in the video to roughly the 4 o-clock in the video. Clearly a useful bit of science was conducted during this video. Basically the pooch seems totally non-pulsed by aviation.

    That was pretty cool. ADSB is required above 10,000 MSL in the Continental US except within 2500 AGL so everyone at your altitude should have been showing on your ADSB display.

    • @danblumel
      @danblumel 2 месяца назад +1

      Not if your Piper Cub or similar has no electrical system, then not required at all.

    • @gorgly123
      @gorgly123 2 месяца назад +1

      @@danblumel Forgot about that. They should be able to make a ADSB out solution that doesn't require an electrical system. Like that BOM he has mounted on his wing that could be powered by the slipstream or batteries with solar charging.

    • @TakingOff

      Yes-- I suggested he put the Comanche on a treadmill to see if it can match the eclipse speed.

    • @alanmcnamara9155
      @alanmcnamara9155 2 месяца назад

      @@TakingOff Wouldn't the Comanche take off once the treadmill reached the correct speed? Or am I mistaken in my understanding of aeronautical physics?😁
